If you put an other hardrive from a more modern computer, you have to expect that the computer will explode, start to burn or that it starts to simmer. Becouse of the Power Supply
The hard drive unfortunately died before I opened it. I'm in the process of restoring an IBM Portable PC 5155 and when I powered it on for the first time in god knows how long the hard drive broke itself - it crashed - literally - scraped the surface of the disc with one of the heads, so I had nothing to loose by opening the drive. Don't worry, I know they are hermetically sealed for a reason ;)
Figured this would be interesting for those who don't know what it's like inside an HDD

Well, step motor hdds don't do the click of death.
Only voice coils do, and I think that the Bigfoot HDD has a slow "click of death."
