Ask the Experts: How Much Volume in a Shot of Espresso?

On this video Gail says a double shot is 2 oz ... but on your grinder calibration video she says a double is 3 oz...which is correct?

I was thinking about something.. When do you need to start counting the time? From you set it to make the coffee, or from when thge coffee starts coming out?

Start counting as soon as you initiate the shot; but this is for a non-pressurized portafilter. Pressurized portafilters use a different technology, so timing and calibrating the grind isn't really necessary. - Kat
