  • Love it!!!

  • Love it.Loved it as a kid and love it now

  • Some people think this is bad acting.....it's one of the most realistic scenes ever....and it's a lot of fun to watch.....kick-ass Green Berets

  • jeez and some of those guys just wanted his autograph.

  • The state of Arizona has a much more admired reputation in 2011 than back in 1971 when Hollywood evidently considered Arizona a backwater, red-neck, hick town. The wannabe cowboys in the movie could only be tough when ganging up in a large number on just one man. Still, I admire the director's realism. For all of Billy Jack's fighting prowess, no such mortal man could cope with so many enemies. In the end he was overwhelmed by sheer numbers and had to be rescued by a sheriff.

  • Few Americans knew that Billy Jack was employing Korean Hapkido at the time. Most assumed it was karate. The Billy Jack movies didn't go out of their way to advertise the name of Hapkido. Hapkido originated from Korean Tang Soo Do and Japanese Daito-ryu aiki-jujutsu. Hence you see Billy Jack's high arcing and sweeping kicks, edge-of-hand blows, and arm joint locks, twists, and take-downs. Karate prefers fist blows with few knife hand strikes.

  • this is the original rambo, and the guy chuck norris copied and thats the fact. even though acting stunk and it's the same old story thisis the guy stallon and norris wanted to be the ywatched this guy when they were kids

  • Stupid, unrealistic fight scenes...with a message?

  • Im gonna take this right foot. and Im gonna thwap you on that side your face.. and you wanna know something..? theres not a damn thing you gonna be able to do about it.

  • His biggest mistake was not breaking that sheriff's nose and a couple of ribs while he was down so wouldn't have been able to get back up.

  • All cops should be treated like this. They're all bitches like that fat ass sheriff.

  • man wheni was young this fight scene was cool now i cant believe how lousy it is

  • @brucedavis76 I had the same thought. Terrible acting, cinematography, and plot.

  • BILLY JACK needs a remake... not that it hasn't been done... several times... just needs to be done in name as well. No one can tell me that this was not the insperation for FIRST BLOOD.

  • @eddiequist I'm telling you it wasn't. The Vietnam War (and it's veterans) was the inspiration for First Blood.

  • This was such a heart warming film showing that someone cared about other people and protected them at any cost. I love this movie....and Tom Laughin....

  • DAMN THIS BULL SHIT , IN REAL LIFE BILLY WILL BE LICKING ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @OTISG69 well its not today its a day and age where self defense were just being realized and like 200 yrs ago 100 yrs ago and yes today YOUR IGNORANCE IS VERY VISIBLE

  • @allisonm991 well get over here just to talk, I WON'T BEAT YOU. CUT YOU ,KILL YOU.........HOPE YOU LIKE TOSS SALAD!!!!!!

  • @allisonm991 YOU KNOW THAT HAND GUNS IN THE 70.S SILLY BITCH

  • I love that classic 'fall to the ground' noise @ 4:38 . Billy Jack FTW.

  • always wondered why Bernard didn't try to run or cold cock Billy Jack when he was giving his long speech

  • @v2vroth - Cause Bernard was a coward, like most bullies and running wouldn't have helped since BJ was standing between him and the door

  • David Roya ( who played villian Bernard) actually sued Tom Laughlin and Dolores Taylor, I'm serious!

  • @jasonpp1973 - For breach of (oral) contract because he claimed Laughlin told him he'd have co-star billing...but without having it in writing, suing was a bad idea.

  • FERkin Kill ell all.

  • Steven Segal THOUGHT he WAS Tom Laughlin AND Eastwood.....what a @JOKE HE turned out to be!

  • BITCH SLAP

  • Thank you Billy Jack for reminding us all that there is NOTHING WRONG with violence in a good cause.

  • Ahhh, yes. Straight-forwad Hapkido. It's not to be underated. All of my friends went to different arts: Hapkido-Shotokan-Aikido-Wing Chun(Alan Lamb-Teacher) while some remained with street fighting. While Hapkido/Shotokan seemed the simplist, each contact HURT. The strength training behind a "Karate Chop" was extreamly powerfull --- and never forgotten one experienced. Honestly. However, things were crude back then -- we didn't know how to catch bullets or "fly" over walls like now days.

  • 1:38 if thats not pwnage....i dont know what is :3

  • Prescott, AZ. USA

  • Chuck norris did'nt come out with Good guys wear Black till 79. Billy Jack was the First.

  • I think this movie was innovative with the slow motion effectives. Great landmark fight scene in how it was filmed. Fantasitic.

  • I see this boy with bisquick on his face and little sunshine with flour on her face I just go bizerk!!

  • I just go......BESERK !!! LOL...

  • Whoa! He kicked Boss Hogg in the face!

  • This is a great fight scene, well done! Especailly when he drop kicks the sherriff

  • @bedank he never drop kicked the sherrif, that was Mr. Posner, a rich guy who ran the town

  • This is a great fight scene, well done!

  • I dont get it, this guy gives the gettysburgh speech gives his back and the morons just stand there waiting for it? Somebody get a fucking gun and waste this blackhat moron.

  • @HuasoPodrido what do want it was the 1970s gees

  • @HuasoPodrido wont you try to fuck with me. american indians stuck together, i am cherokee and proud. you should be proud of who you are too. God have mercy on your soul. asshole.

  • @BillyHeimberger , Do me a favor Redman, go back to the reservation school and learn to spell.

  • @HuasoPodrido OK. Let's see....what do you want it was the 1970s gees should have puncuation marks! it should read:

What do you want? It was the 1970's! gees!

    Who knows grammer now?

  • @BillyHeimberger , Grammer?? Chuck Norris dont need no stinking grammer!

  • Bring that shit ass wipes. I see that shit everyday. So shut the fuck up. Come to s.dak bitches. It goes on all the time. You don't know. I can do worse than billy jack.

  • How about Billy Jack get off his ass and stopping that oil leak

  • @TheAmazingRoger naah. you can always got to the mechanic....you can't fight a town full of douchebags every day...lol

  • anyone one know were i can get the full version

  • I took it for what it was; an enjoyable movie on a Friday evening, back in '71..We're not talking about Citizen Kane, or any other classic. It was perfect for its time, and we've moved on since. It's like analizing a 'B' western. That's Entertainment!

  • Tom Laughlin did not do the fight scenes. The great Hapkido Master Bong Soo Hong did it all, you can tell in the long shots.

  • @bigjimandthewolfpack how about this....einstein bruce lee did not do the flip upside down kick in enter the dragon...or the jump over the mens arms or the pop up from his back scene 1.

  • i actually live in the town this was filmed in, downtown prescott! the people here havent changed much, sometimes i feel like kicking their ass too! :D

  • I enjoyed it, in '71, and, today. Of course, the fight's not real; that's the magic of film.

One thing, though; Billy Jack did get his butt kicked, but, damn! It felt good, seeing him kick some ass, just the same. I've been jumped before. Oh, I got hurt, some, but, I sure as hell gave them something to think about. I did put a serious hurting on, at least, one.

  • Boy this brought back memories- this is one of my all time favorite "bad movies"- bad in the sense that the acting is atrocious, what is spectacular is the few martial art scenes and I absolutely love this one. The complex Billy Jack persona fluctuating from wanting to be peaceful and wanting to kick ass is just compelling. For those of you who don't know- Master Han Bong-soo is the one doing those high kicks. Gonna rent this from Netflix now- ha

  • I just noticed that the fight scene filming technique is a LOT like the way they did it in the "Kung Fu" TV series. Digging into it, I see Fred J. Koenekamp worked on both productions as cinematographer (and both were from Warner Bros, so it all follows). What bothers me is that it took me about 39 years to notice the connection. Sheesh.

  • Most of those guys deserved to have their butts kicked for their haircuts and sideburns alone! Seriously, good stuff, remember watching the original(s) fondly...

  • Great scene to start - Billy Jack ( Tom Laughlin ) Good actor !!! unleashes his fury at the Bullies --Cheers !!!.

  • Worst acting ever...

  • Am I the only person thinking that "coalbunny" = "coalburner?"

  • I finally went to see AVATAR last night. This movie is the Green Generation equivalent of Billy Jack: formerly dedicated, straight-laced, military veteran steps-in and takes on the oppressors of the native folk. Entertaining, but with a full dose of typical Hollywood stereotypes and tired themes. AVATAR was not as visionary and imaginative as I had hoped it would be.

  • hmm anyone else think Billy Jack coulda been played by Jack Nicholson? =D

  • Sad part is too many small towns are still that racist and bigoted. And just like in the movie, the cops don't give a damn.

  • ANY body fucks with Billy Jack ...Chuck Norris is gonna' KICK your ASS!

  • "Watch his feet. He can kill ya with his feet."

  • great fight scene. had that been bruce lee, they wouldn't have even got him with the stick LOL

  • @guitarttimman Bruce Lee once said that when you get jumped, they don't come at you, one at a time; I know..And, you just might get an ass whippin'..Just take heart, like he did in the picture, when he nailed ol' Posner with that reverse crescent kick.

You take as many of these fuckers with you, even if it's only just one; give it all the hell you got. You're taking an ass whuppin', but you sure as hell gave 'em something to think about..

  • @zipper179

you're right, but I think Bruce could have took all of 'em and won!

  • @guitarttimmanOh I believe you, Guitarman..; but, as you know, there's only one Bruce Lee..As for you and, me, you'll do better, being a younger man. As for me, I'm way too old for that shit!

  • @zipper179

    thank sir

  • @guitarttimman I bet Billy Jack could have, too, if it was in the script.

  • @zipper179 Great comment , A good friend of mine always said " You may kick my ass , but I'll put a few knotts on your head before that happens" !!!

  • Soon after this movie was made, all the other bad asses came out of their cocoons and copied Billy Jack. They saw a gold mine in making movies that portrayed one man against many without them getting hardly a scratch. They exploited the gullible ticket-holder, usually a stupid guy who thought this is real life. Guys like Clint Eastwood and Chuck Norris capitalized on the success of Billy Jack and the movies started to go down-hill.

  • Really!?!

  • The only good white folk are in Los Angeles! Go Dodgers!

  • like the L.A.P.D?

  • Basically the L.A.P.D has a lot in common with some white folk living outside of Los Angeles

  • LMAO 5:23

  • "JUST FOR THE HELL OF IT"

  • I .... just ... go ... beZERK! lol

  • check out the actors sitting in the chairs. they don't move a muscle!

  • Because they're USED to seeing Billy Jack wig out, and go "Travis the chimp" all over people.

  • at 4:51 sweetchin music

  • Remove all the neo-political innuendos and you have an exciting action flick here; that's the way I watched it as a kid and that's how I watch it now. It's the renegade against the town bad guys. The Billy Jack movies are ruined for me if I think about what a liberal Laughlin is, so I don't. A lot of actors today need to keep their liberal pieholes shut and just make movies. Enjoy Billy Jack for the butt-kickin' scenes, don't concern yourself with "deep meanings" and you'll have a great time!

  • Tom Laughlin is a libertarian. He even ran for president on the Republican ticket in 1988.I didn't know seeking justice was a liberal concept.

  • yeah-he has some great ideas on using alcohol for fuel, he points to Brazil-if they can do it we can do it-I saw this at the Drive-In when I was a kid, I saw all of them at the Drive In-except Born Losers, I didnt see that until later on cable-saw them at the McLendon Triple -the "Mac 3"-on the corner of South Main and Hiram Clarke in Houston-it's gone now-saw The hinese Connection and Enter the Dragon there too, Mash, A Man Called Sledge, 2 Mules for Sister Sara to name a few-Paint your wagon

  • Of course justice is a liberal concept. Right wingers look only for control based on their religion, which you are apparently a part of

  • @faljare Does your name mean failure ? How does asking if justice is a liberal concept make me a rightwing religious person ? Are you for real or just to stupid to understand a rhetorical question.

  • Actually, what i was sayong, was that justice is a concept of liberals and democrats. And that right wingers don't give a damn about justice, all they care about is promotiiong their control by way of a false religion.

  • you are a fuken moron

  • @Harry44Callahan2 You'r right, Harry; it's a movie, and, as the song says,'That's Entertainment'!

  • Ya know,If adults want to carry the weight of racial prejudice with them wherever they go,fine.Just leave kids alone, that is just plain sick and perverted. And rightly so should go to hell for trying to scar young minds that don't know about race and the shit that goes along with it.

  • I thinks its great regardless

  • I dont care who it..is..it is impressive to say the least

  • @methadone1967 Anybody ever heard of stand-ins d stuntmen? They've been around for years.. That's why it's call 'show business'.

  • The whole park fight scene was done by a Korean Martial Arts Master Bong so Han. Look close and you can see his face. Billy Jack is a fraud...

  • So are all the actors. Have you ever heard of stunt performers?

  • shit ass

  • Just kicking some RED NECK ass !!!!!!!!!!

  • Steven Segal 40 years and 400 pounds ago.

  • What Billy Jack should of done was use those holding men as a brace and kick into the front man. I noticed that one of the men held his head while the other man beat the living daylights out of him. Billy Jack should of headbutted him right then and there.

  • Billy should of left his boots on, he would of done a lot more damage to those guys! But back in the day when I was a little boy the bare foot fighting was kick ass.

  • I saw this when it came out back in '71.I remember standing up at the end as they were taking Billy away and raised my fist just like everyone else both on and off the screen.

  • What happened to the audio? Did you record it from across the room?

  • Got Audio

  • @Whatatay the movie is from 1838-whaddya want?

  • The best two scenes from the movie, for sure- the ice cream shop and the fight in the park.

Looking closely at the fight in the park in the movie, and at the many alternate takes included on the "35th Anniversary" DVD, show how many of Billy's moves were actually Han Bong-Soo's moves.

Han Bong-Soo, the "Father of Hapkido," is named in the opening credits of "Billy Jack," and had a co-starring role in the inferior sequel, "The Trial of Billy Jack."

He passed away in January 2007.

  • COOL MOVIE

  • This film was more my scene back in the 70's than the Bruce Lee craze; saw Billy Jack 20 times in 2 weeks when it first came out (twice a day, every week day! Yes; I took some time off school...!)

Bong Soo Han deserves credit on this one (that's him doing most of the moves in the park where u cant see Billy's face...)
