If you're on lion, don't lose your nickers. Download unarchiver from app store (free) and open minecraft.jar with that (it is below archiver in the video) and the folder will pop up. Piece of cake.

All Mac's have Archiving app's, this isn't 10.6 specific, often it's just a matter of knowing where to find it.

If it isn't readily available by search or when you right-click, it is under System>Library>CoreServices.

If you want to remember where that is or use it often, drag it to your dock and then you can extract files by simply dropping them onto your dock icon.

@HighSchoolHair If you're using Lion, the Library is hidden by default, it's a quick fix, go to Terminal in applications>utilities>Termina­l or with Cmd+shit+U and open terminal. In terminal put 'chflags nohidden ~/Library' without the quoatation marks and if should be under your user directory.

You have to go to the App Store and download The Unarchiver and that is what you will extract it with.
