  • the trumpet noises are simply beautiful, combined with the acoustic guitar. very tasty kaki has good taste to team up with this trumpet player. that's what i call hip.its cool and classy

  • where's second brain? how comes on PS3 music umlitied they have loads more kaki king peices and some new versions of old ones on there, where can i find the full version coz theit just 30 sedcs of it in music unlimited.

  • yeah i didn't like this at first too. but check out this version

    watch?v=mdJP5q5HLNE

and you'll understand why this song is good.

  • I'm a trumpet player... Maybe Kaki will let me play First Brain? Lol that'd be epic.

  • kaki king - bua ga ga ga

  • guitar definetly teleports you to other places.

  • @Nathanial317 lol. I was transported to the perfume isle in Macy's then to the jungles in Malaysia, but that's me being a girl. It's mostly because it came from the soul. ~

  • the trumpet is what give's this song texture. open your mind. everything is not always 4/4, happy and sunshine. i liked it

  • Kaki King: Classy as ever.

  • Melodic bowel movements?! I love the trumpet but imagine if someone didn't know what was really going on in the bathroom..

  • Why is everyone complaining about the trumpet? It sounds just like what he does on the record. Granted, the trumpet is naturally a louder instrument than guitar, but still, I'm just impressed at how he can make random trumpet noises sound so atmospheric and beautiful.

  • TE AMO

  • lol at top two comments

  • someone needs to develop program that can erase that trumpet so we may enjoy this piece from Kaki!

  • @onemillionapples

i dont think they were as much annoyed by it as they were concerned that it sounded like somebody just woke up in an ice bath and their appendix was laying in a cooler next to them lol

  • Трубачу хуйово, он собраться не может после вчерашнего, вот и лажает

  • "LET THE DOG IN! Oh wait, that was the trumpet, nevermind." :P

  • ah ecco...per questo si chiama Kaki, ahahah E certo: sta nel cesso...Ahahah.

    Grande Kaking.-

  • I'm glad they mention takeawayshows at the end since this could easily be on their website.

  • I really love it!!!! sounds good

  • @cba1067950 Ah well, I understand what you mean, but again, 'ridiculous shit' is in the eye (or in this case, ear) of the beholder! Haha, yeah I was putting on a stupid voice (if that's why you thought I was American, not that Americans have stupid voices), and that video is about 4 years old. I feel I've dropped a womanly tone or two since then. Plus I'm Welsh, which is still British, but different from English accents. Are you American or...?

  • @cba1067950 Haha no it's fine. You obviously feel strongly about this. Okay, so we'll disregard the CD version and stay focused on this one: I love Kaki King! But I wouldn't say she's a genius or entirely original, and I'm pretty sure neither would she, especially since her most recent album, 'Junior' is more electric guitar playing, and she isn't playing it with her feet or simultaneously combining it with playing a didgeridoo or anything.

  • @slablilseb2 ... (Sorry for the long comments) Besides, original or dissonant or genius or what have you, it's all about your own likes and dislikes at the end of the day. Sometimes we all forget that though! Me included, regretfully...

  • @cba1067950 Sorry to butt in, but I think (and not infallibly) you're both wrong: You can't apply wrong notes to all types of music. Wrong notes exist when a fixed melody is played incorrectly - but a fixed melody can be very dissonant, but played correctly.

  • @slablilseb2 ALSO... As for 'experimental' or more improvisational music, a wrong note is subjected to either not belonging to a basic foundation of scales that the music is built on, or not agreeing with the listener's or music's 'mood'. That's obviously your opinion, as the two of you have shown.

Also rhythmically speaking, the same rules can be applied for the existence of the wrong note.

Hmm, this is actually getting interesting, you know!

  • For those who hate the trumpet, I think it's because he's trying to play the slide guitar melody on the CD (before the actual trumpet melody later on in the song, at least, the first melody sounds like a slide guitar...?)

Oh yeah, and toilets aren't the best venue for making a nice sounding set haha.

  • I didn't know why everybody was talking about trumpets... and then I was like Oh... It's not a cat being bikini waxed. okay

  • @cba1067950 oh yeah you did! You said it sucks and the only reason why we say it doesn't it's cause we're blind fans. That translates: we are biased, you're not. Again "stupid" sounds in your opinion. I listen to free jazz, I listen to band such as Pere Ubu or Yowie or Radiohead (listen to "pulk/pull revolving doors") who use a lot of unpleasant sounds. Damn, Pink Floyd made some experimental "bullshit" as you call it. And the Doors? Music is full of that. If you don't like it it's your problem!

  • @cba1067950 (...) is not just notes. It's sounds too. There are plenty of instruments that don't produce recognizable notes (most percussions). Still they make music. Plus saying I'm a blind worshipper cause I use more than one comment at a time is one of the most stupid things I've ever read. Anyway, I don't want to waste anymore time on this. Keep your opinion. But it's an OPINION, stop treating it as the truth. Cause it's far from it.

  • @cba1067950 p.s. I didn't say these are dissonances. I said that this trumpet has the same purpose of a dissonance. That is to express uneasiness, to express some intense negative feeling. Maybe Kaki was so depressed she felt like choking when she wrote this. And so the choked trumpet. I don't understand how you don't see this is the most beautiful thing in the song. Made by accident? Try and perform this and then we can talk about it.

  • @cba1067950 hahaha the wrong note?? Sorry, I've been a musician for 11 years and I never heard such a piece of bullshit before. No such thing as a wrong note exists. I said FREE jazz, listen to this till the end youtu. be/d0HB8ybKJzo

This is "bullshit experimentation" only in your head and you can't be so arrogant to say it's the Truth. It's your opinion. And in MY opinion it sucks and shows you have the open-mindedness of a dead rat. Liking this doesn't make me a blind worshipper. Period.

  • @cba1067950 people like you think their opinion is law. well, I don't see any trace of fanboy attitude to what mobman47 said. You said putting an "ugly" trumpet on purpose here is like putting shit on your food. Well, this is a pretty dumb comparison. Take coffee, instead. It's slightly sour, not everyone likes it, it's not as simple and pleasent as milk. Sometimes you like a bit of coffee, sometimes you like a bit of sour. Unless you're boring. Plus, the spectre of human feelings is (continues)

  • @cba1067950 much more complex than food. Sometimes our feelings aren't pleasent and it makes sense to express. Dissonances have been used for centuries to express that. It's nothing new, nothing shocking as you said. But it no way this is bad. So all free jazz should be bad in your opinion. Surely, they all must be dumb and you're the only one intelligent. Do yourself a favour and resize your ego or go live alone in the mountains where you can worship yourself and your infallible mind.

  • this has to be one of the best videos ever. dead funny, nice shooting and amazing performance.

  • HAHAHAHAHA the trumpet is like a shitting elephant

  • @cba1067950 Whatever troll, you win.

  • @cba1067950 This isn't a "Leave Kaki alone!" this is about music. I understand if you dislike something (I do all the time), but calling out the musician by saying "this sounds like shit, what a horrible idea, you shouldn't have done that" is not respectful at all. Its what Kaki King likes because this is a form of self expression. I don't understand why you feel the need to publicly denounce it, When I originally replied to you I wasn't being aggressive, I was hoping you were open minded.

  • @cba1067950 Haha, Dude, its her style. Your just not getting it. Your not supposed to be critical when you listen to music, your supposed to accept it for what it is. There's so much music out there that is just blatantly predictable and Kaki, regardless of whether or not YOU like it, wanted a trumpet over this song. If you want to listen to something like what your describing, then write it yourself. If not, take your disrespectful comments and get the fuck out.

  • @cba1067950 the trumpet is supposed to be ambiance. I mean yeah, its not pretty, but its not supposed to be. Its supposed to be eerie. Its done all the time in music, especially in the soundtracks to horror movies where the pianos are detuned before they're played.

  • the trumpet is awesome! what the heck r u guys talking about...

the two instruments are emotionally unified and enhancing each other in an actually very Kaki King's way. If you don't like this piece why do you like king in the first place?

  • @cba1067950 The way its played is the way they chose to demonstrate their emotions in this piece. If you do not like it, simply listen to something else, please. She has many beautiful songs, including this one. Try listening to another of her masterpieces, like Jessica

  • Fackin Truly Great Jamms! I LOVE This =D Truly Heartfelt for me.. Alot of Memories and sorrow. . . . .

  • At first I was like 'She's not left handed!'. Then I realised there was a mirror. xD Nice video though.

  • @viciousandchaotic Yeah like, what?!!?

  • My dog almost went mad couse of the trumpet...emmm...howling :DDD

  • i think this kind to play the trumpet is ehhmmm ..

  • clearly anyone annoyed by the trumpet has the musical intelligence of a tree frog.

  • @OneMillionApples come on now... don't diss tree frogs...

  • @OneMillionApples no he's quite right. the trumpet does sound like a dying whale.

  • @OneMillionApples why insulting a tree frog by comparing it to these people!

  • @OneMillionApples the trumpet player is horrible....

  • @OneMillionApples I love jazz and the trumpet in general but this sounded like a cat in heat. Sorry but I prefer my trumpet non-amelodic and actually on time with the music. If you like this I hope you will bring all your friends to my solo trumpet performance (i've played the trumpet maybe 3 times in my life) you will love it, $25 cover.

  • This is beautifully disturbing and unsettling. I love it.

Music can be so much more than something to rock yr car to on the way to the mall.

  • I didn't know people played the trumpet like that intentionally

  • Trumpet's bad idea!

  • Comment removed

  • That was very beautiful. The trumpet added a wildly etherical tangent. Like a remembered sound track, to a forgetten dream

  • is that guy fucking kidding? It sounds like he jammed the trumpet in his ass

  • i guess he was up for a challenge.lol

  • @creepyneighbordotcom dude are you fucking kidding you sound like you have a stick shoved up your ass! thats pure fucking talent right there its like a girl singing and screaming its very beautiful not like some dooshy fag like you would realize the talent behind it

  • I love Kaki and her music but that trumpet sounds like the screams of a dying whale.

  • I read this comment before the video finished loading and though "uh... okay...". But, I couldn't stop laughing while I watched. As, that is indeed exactly what it sounds like.
