I got this game a little over a year ago, played it for a while and got to where you evacuate a space ship and stranded in a forest. The begining was just so boring. Does it get any better from my point? it really looks like a fun game but the first hour or two of game play was nothing but walking and talking, and your first fight is practically in the forest area. and when it comes to me and RPGs of any kind, fighting and training is my favorite thing to do

I was disappointed with Roger's ultimate technique "Bug Triad". Compared to Maria's Energy Burst and others, it does not a lot of damage. In the end, I go on using "Flying Torpedo", which is a very quick attack, and powerful. I was expecting more from him though.

@SetzerPL Cliff is like the Ultimate spammer! I'd never be able to get far in the start of the story on Universe mode if it wasn't for spamming hammer of might and aerial assault! But my main team is usually Fayt Roger and Cliff/ Sophia.

So I'm actually workin on my next play through on Universe mode and i just made 2 save files so I can play through one with a roger and pepita combo and the other with a roger and albel combo!

Like 13's good and all, but they don't give you enough freedom to customize your characters you your own liking and the battles are too simple (and I don't mean they aren't difficult). Don't get me wrong, I like 13, but square needs to go back to how things were like in 10 and below. 12 was fine in my opinion, but I think it was just a failed atempt to give us ai controlled allies. But hey, look forawrd to FF type 0!

How bad is Star Ocean 4? I haven't played it. I've played Second Story for PS1, Star Ocean 3, and First Departure for PSP. In my opinion, Second Story and First Departure are better than Star Ocean 3. All of them have good music and interesting mazes and puzzles, but I enjoy 2D sprites, one attack button, and the ability to synthesize items anywhere rather than 3D models, two different attack buttons, and a limit on synthesizing items by only allowing it in a workshop.

@sapphireheart0188 Hard what is? :D i defeated the hardest boss freya in 4D mode. What comes to crossell i don't remember much but i think hit and run tactics are great against him, 1 or 2 healers standing far away as possible and using only one offensive like fayt or cliff to bombard him. crossel was a lot easier than the bosses before him. Have fun at playing the game it was my favorite one when i was a kid

@sapphireheart0188 Ever think of continuously using Side Kick/Side Kick? Not only does it help you avoid some attacks, but it does decent damage, with the right weapon. If you have Cliff in your active party, have him use a Fists of Fury/Fists of Fury combo to stunlock, and if you're using Maria, and control her, be careful with this one, but use a close-up Scatter Beam/Scatter Beam combo. It's cheap, but effective.

@sapphireheart0188 I just beat them on univers last month (my 2nd universe play through). My party was fayt, pepita and roger. you should take out (just like they do in scary movies -_-) the black guy first. If petrification's a problem for you, maybe equip anything anit-petrifying. DON"T do this battle with Sophia! You should have close up battlers cuz these 2 are relentless in following. But really focus on the black guy then the gay 1. All else fails: then level up....

@sapphireheart0188 Albel's good too cuz he's a pretty good party, you don't really NEED roger, he's just my preference. But anybody that's an upclose brawler will be good. I don't know if you have or not, but it may be a good idea to disable fayt's, and everyone else's, attack symbology, cuz they do NOT need to stop in the middle of this battle just to cast symbologyl,which probably wont do much good anyhow. but another good tactic is to have cliff and just cancel-spaz hammer of might

Or if you wanna get him after getting back on elicoor, he's in some house in sulferio (i think it''s in sulferio) in an upstairs room talkin to his girl
