  • If you were walking down the street and saw this guy, with the rock band shirt. You'd definitely under estimate the possibility of him actually rocking hard.

  • @ShawnyMartin LOL!

  • That was really great, man; very pleasant. I really enjoyed it.

  • hey man, nice playin'! can u tell me does this pedal clean up nicely and is it transparent?

  • @tomiclav It is pretty transparent and if you roll your volume down it does clean up a bit.

  • One thing you young pups need to realize is we 40 (plus) year old guys have been playing for 30 to 50 years longer than you have. Just sayin'.... Nice tone. Nice execution. The nice vibrato is the dead give-a-way of a veteran. The young guys can't touch that.

  • @AceOfHeart2012 Thanks bro - much appreciated!

  • @AceOfHeart2012 Why even bring age into it?!? Surely skill is the most valid scale to judge things like this? :D

  • @AceOfHeart2012 I see some btterness in your post. The oung gus who arent paying attention cant touch that, the young guys who are can learn. Ha, give us time....

  • The 40 year old guy with the tight rock band shirt and the mustache with glasses makes this worth a grammy. Great solo dude!

  • @Joeysic66 Thanks bro! I suck at Rock Band, but snagged the shirt when I bought it for my son. :)

  • Hi,

Can you tell me your settings on the DT-2, if you remember.

  • @rillette35 Al three switches are in the middle positions, so "Mic" = center, "Mod" = hi gain and "Amp" = British. Level control is at 12:00 (straight up) Low is at 10:00, High is at 12:00 and Gain is at 12:00.

  • hi paul..

i would like to know what are the chord progression of the backing,, just that plz man.

    greetings from chile.

  • @guitarralaraja - It is just two chords repeated. The first is an open position E Major chord. Then you slide that same shape up two frets and let the open b and high e strings ring out, so it is like you are playing an F# major chord with the added B and E notes on top. You could call this chord F#7 add 11.

  • Bad error about theory...you have been using a G# minor pentatonic, not Ab minor!

  • @Purplino Thanks for your comment. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge, but didn't you see the comment in the actual video where I already corrected that three months ago?

Also, I had a discussion with another commenter about this about 3 months ago when he questioned my note about it actually being G# pentatonic.

  • That's a pretty chill pedal, think you could do a regular demo where you go through all the settings and features?

  • @nubbinnoob, I am planning to do a more detailed demo when I find the time.

  • I can't decide if is best the sansamp gt2 or this one(that is a clone)...

  • @tomakiakls, I tried a GT-2 before and this has way more gain. It feels better when you are soloing with it.

  • @PaulT08 so are you tell me that the gt-2 has less gaint than the AMT?

  • @tomakiakls: Yes, I honestly believe it does. I also have tried the tri-A.C pedal and the Distortion Station crushes it too. The tri-AC does not have enough gain, even with a guitar with active EMG's (such as mine). The switches may look similar to the GT-2, but this is not a mere clone of that pedal. It has more gain than I would ever use.

  • @PaulT08 ok,thanks a lot for your advice!anyway you're a good player;)

  • @tomakiakls You are very welcome.

  • anyway great playing!

  • that was some nasty playing right there.amazing!not just frantically running through the scales up and down, which a lot of guitarists tend to do these days.good job sir!!!

  • @velocity80 Thank you so much for your kind words!

  • heyy Paul, great cover, wud u recommend this pedal for a distortion tone?

  • Yes, it is a great sounding pedal!

  • @PaulT08 k thks

  • AMT DT-2 Distortion Station! Да это же омская примочка, у меня такая же есть! Но в Ваших руках она звучит куда солиднее!

  • Sounds great Paul! Very crisp yet creamy and full tone. I think it sounds fantastic recorded direct!

  • Just wanna Know if E lydian is actualy in thé key of B? And why can we use C#minor pentatonic? Pls, i dont understant

  • Yes, it is in the key of B Major. You can use a minor pentatonic scale over any of the minor modes in the key of B Major - Aeolian (G#), Dorian (C#) or Phrygian (D#). If you try this you will find that all of the notes are in the key, but help you to create slightly different sounds. It' a great way to mix things up. Maybe I'll do a new video demonstrating this.

  • @PaulT08 thanks very m,uch

  • You have a JSX and you are recording direct? You should really pick up some mics for your videos so you don't put that thing to waste haha. Great demo though, great tone and playing as well.

  • Thanks for the comment. I love the JSX and think it is a killer amp. Once i get playing out later this year I will be using it for sure, but for recording the DT-2 direct in is doing a great job. It's simple to use and I can have it real quiet and record while my son is sleeping.

  • its sounds so better then the ionian scale even though the only note that changes is the fourth which is augmented

    ur awesome dude

  • Thanks for the kind words!

  • Cool Lydian....love it!!

  • awesome play~~ *****

  • excelent demo bro, showed me exactly what i wanted to see from this pedal

  • really good sound. God bless.5

  • Great feel, tone and ability.

  • Паша, жгёшь!

  • really cool Paul sounding good my friend, you really know how to rock that SG man great work.

  • Hi Paul,

I have just posted a demo of the DT-2. Tell me what you think and be sure to leave a comment!

  • Great Stuff!! which mode are you using on the DT-2

  • Thanks for your kind words Eric. I had the DT-2 set as follows: Mic-Center, Mod-Hi Gain, Amp-British. I probably had the High and gain around 12:00 position and the Low slightly cut.

  • I remember jamming on this E F#add11/E chord progression with you last year at HESSFEST! I use this a lot now, so thanks for the progression =)

    + awesome solo

  • You're welcome Norman and thanks for the compliment. It was a lot of fun jamming last year. Are you going to Chicago this September?

  • couldve used a different choice shirt lol jk

    you rock man

  • Haha! Thank you!

  • why is there no such thing as G#?

  • I did not say that there was no such thing as G#, I said that Ab minor penatonic would technically be called G# minor pentatonic.

  • oh ok. how come? i'm sorry, but it just so happens that a friend and were talking about this very same thing and she said G# is technically called Ab, so i was just wondering why?

  • G# and Ab are the same note, but keep in mind that I am not talking about this being a G# major key. I am simply talking about playing a minor pentatonic scale at the 4th fret of the guitar. E Lydian is the fourth mode in the key of B Major, and if you go through the cycle of 5ths the notes in the key of B Major are B, C#, D#, E, F#, G#, and A#. So we are technically in the key of B Major, therefore the note at the fourth fret should be called G#.

  • right... i just learned about that so now i get it. sorry.

  • No problem!

  • like what ppl said below...

awesome phrasing. im an aspiring improviser too... i cant seem to reach out beyond improvising over notes of the pentatonic scale... how do you do it? is it cause you know more modes? your phrasing is sometimes immaculate!

    thanks, nice playing, cheers~

  • Thank you for the kind words!

  • Omg, sounds very great! Subscribed!

  • gordito U did it Well!! its a freakin great impro!! good job maan....

  • There's something grabbing about the Lydian mode. Good tastes.
