  • If the camera really could fly through space at that speed, everything would turn red then you wouldn't see anything. Just saying.

  • what were they on ?lol..

  • Hi Resmeister, you've done some great videos for TheMenInBlack - which to me is one of the great masterpieces of modern music. Thanks for this.

  • thumbs up if you didn't hear this on the carphone warehouse ad

  • the sounds in the middle remind me of the ghasts on minecraft

  • Gonna have nightmares about this song now... :S

  • where are the GLERS...lue EM

  • A danish artist called Agnes Obel recently recorded a piano version that sounds a lot like this.

    Her version is called "Louretta".

  • Remembered per Keith Floyd. Surely not evil, Martinian. I think it's funny. Played in a loop, perhaps one of the quicker ways of getting a result in a 'They Shoot Horses Don't They?' dance contest. I suggest a million-pound prize, danced for by all previous winners of 'Strictly'. What giddy fun! Perhaps that would be slightly evil....

  • Thumbs up if The Stranglers brought you here.

  • hearing this makes me think of the seventh doctor who episode greatest show in the galaxy haha

  • Great Vid ....but where's the space craft to ?!!!!

  • great track great video cant make my mind up if its evil or happy

  • I just remember it from 'Keith Floyd on Food' amazing song though

  • From the 1981 album Meninblack by Stranglers about meninblack conspiracy, They had nuthin but bad luck doing it. Album ahead of its time and would prob sound better if it had come after Will Smiths version. Golden Brown , which was a reject from the album, but released on their next album however got them back on track and was a mega hit

  • Reminds me of Banjo Tooie on the N64

  • I think of a funhouse when I hear this...

  • MoThErFuCkInG mIrAcLeS :o)

  • I proper skept out to this :)

  • I think of the laughing as by gremlins or small faceless critters, yes. But also that nothing is that bad. The beauty of existance and it's crazy systems and the fact that without humour and having a good time, you tap none of it.

    I so love this tune.

    *dances off*

  • Im sure this is off a sega megadrive game about some kid with a football... cant think of what its called =(

  • @Asidey okkk ...? rofl

  • im sure this song was in a gameboy game any1 remember the games name if im right?

  • Why was I thinking of Luigi's mansion the whole way through this O_O

  • Reminds me of carnival music, and carnival music really creeps me out... But it's addictive to listen to so I can't win :(

  • This would've been good on Cel Damage Overdrive.

  • For some reason this reminds me of those classic Playstation games from the '90s and early 2000's.

  • my dad seems to think this is a piece of classical music originally- does anyone know what this might be??

  • I LOVE THIS!!! the video goes well with it!!! well done!!!

  • this song is epic in a way that words cannot fathom; great video to accompany it. Good job!

  • God, i love this genre of music, what is it even called?

  • Thumbs up if you heard this on the Carphone Warehouse ad??

  • @MrGameDude6 ...or even on one of the Floydsters cooking shows !?

  • Love it!!! Pure quality .. well ahead of themselves ..... Aidan

  • Is this in Rugrat Seach for Reptar on ps1 lol

  • Thumbs up if you discovered this song independantly without needing "adverts" to make your musical choices for you.

  • @vorebiz Fuck off and stop trying to sound different. We didn't say we learnt it off the advert we said we heard it on the advert and came to find out what it is after hearing it after for many years and on the advert. There's always a dick isn't there? Someone like you who has to think they are so good. And I ndon't know where you got the idea of adverts making musical choices because one song is not an entire musical choice. Nut of course your a dick and dicks have to generalise. Die slowly...

  • @snoopatomicdog At the risk of "begging it", This paragraph made my fucking day.

  • @snoopatomicdog i understand your anger

  • I guessed that I was not the only one trying to figure out what was this was after so many years then eventually decided to find out after hearing it on a Carphone Warehouse advert.

  • Thumbs up if your here after trying to find out what the carephone music advert was!

  • for some reason i want this played at my wedding!!

  • Thumbs up if your dad told you the name of this song when he watches the carphone warehouse advert ;)

  • Two words: Magic Mushrooms :)

  • Perfect vid for a great soundtrack. I always thought we are on some particle under a giants finger nail.

  • Probably is where the banjo kazooie music came from as rareware is a british company so they had probably grown up with this song in the UK.

  • this gives you the best feeling of anticipation when you hear it at a stranglers gig.. can't wait to hear it at theweekendinblack on Sunday..

  • anyone else think randall and hopkirk?

  • simply Excellent clip it matches the track so well !!

  • Me too!!!!!

  • Banjo and Kazooie anyone? :L

It sounds soooo much like the music in the game!

  • @VVardy222 YES. In fact I was so sure it was referenced in the soundtrack I had to go back and listen again.

  • Comment removed

  • @VVardy222 Haha yeah kinda sounds like the Carnival level in Banjo Tooie :P

  • We had this song played at my dad's funeral very recently. Such a perfect, macabre piece of music. He'd have been very proud! Wonderful video to go with the song, it's like the laughter is just the universe laughing at us :)

  • Keith floyd used this at some stage on his cooking programme.

  • @DavidJohnLovell1 He did, it was the opening titles and for the end titles they used Peaches (The last section with all the Mm Mm Mm noises). Great program too!

  • how long have the stranglers used this as intro music, anyone know?

  • Fascinating. Where am I?

  • Saw them live last night in Norwich, was excellent.

The lights go down, and this starts playing... you know it's time.

  • my all time fav punk band-saw them 4 times-1979-1987-jj is god

  • which album is this song off anybody know

  • @coombster1 Gospel According to the Meninblack.

  • You really should give credit for the visuals as well as the audio so that people can check out the source. It's a worthwhile movie.

  • My favorite song when i was little xD I really loved this song then, and i thought it was funny because of all the laughters.. And my dad could imitate that second laughter, and i wanted him to do it all the time xD

Now.. I kind of thinks it's a bit creepy >_>

  • this is the intro from the sci-fi movie "contact" in 1997 (the vid, not the crazy sound)

  • Really cool! I've been using a telescope lately and recognize lots of the features in the sequence!

  • resmeister, that's inspired stuff there! Stunning work. Well done. It's only a matter of time before Hollywood cotton on to this classic eerie tune and use it in a similar manner, don't you think? As a matter of interest, where was the source for that 'Star make'r type journey? It's the ultimate 'trip.' There's something preternatural about it, isn't there? Almost deja vu? Maybe one day we'll know more about our existence,eh? Thanks, mate!

  • now i get why this music was used in kieth ffloyd that chef man's doco the other day!! you do not know how crazy i have been going..
