  • @littlepenguinangel i ment christiqn. Gothic not christian gothic just sayen

  • Im gothic and yet i still like to wear dresses(grant it tht be very seldom) and feel pretty im also christian gothic doesnt mean your always sorrowful and u worship the devil so stop all the sterio types and go talk to a goth! Who knows u may have more in common then u thought!!

  • I hate when people think that us goths are evil,a girl at school even asked if I worshipped the devil!!I am a Christian and a happy goth,I always go around giving my friends hugs.

  • Some people think that we are satinists for some stupid made up reason also.

  • You're right, we believe in life, in love, in light ...we can to sense and much more than stereotypes

  • You do not get my joke however i do find goth women extremely cute. I was just saying that there are nothing but white people in your video. I know there are black and hispanic and asian goths. I am not a goth at all, far from it. I had nipple peircings until i started martial arts and they got kicked out of my chest. I dress like a prep, but i 10000 percent beleive in being yourself. I am me your are you....I just find goth chicks cute. However i am not sure if goths like dress shirts...

  • @mrTabascohot same here

  • Interesting. In my day goth was heavily "vampiric" and anti-Catholic... I recall thinking that about 80% of goths were disgruntled Catholics at the time....LOL Most behavior took the form of anything the "church" disapproved of...misanthropy rather than "love", gay or bi rather than straight, sex before marriage and the kinkier the better, paganism or atheism rather than Xianity...no one actually said "Christianity"!.....gasp!...etc etc etc ...Probably purist attitudes today I imagine...shrug

  • 0:54 That's gotta be the most endearing picture in the whole video! makes me want to go up and hug the next Goth I see!

  • It's a lovely video. (I hope that doesn't offend any Goth sensibilities.) I wonder if any of the young Goths out there know much about Lord Byron who wrote the poem "She walks in beauty, like the night." Supposedly, Bram Stoker based the character of Count Dracula on Byron. So, in a way, he was the original Goth.

  • @Vickram12 I've heard it! ;) Byron also was the one to come out with the mainstreams favorite character: the misunderstood ruffian who is really very sweet but it just take persuasion to make him so ;) XD Just a random fact :D

  • @RISEoftheFALLE - Yeah... I guess we all need a little persuasion for our best qualities to step forward

  • It's true, I am goth. I am a rather happy person. ^^

  • im goth and alot of pple thinks im a bad person but in all reality we goth people are more happy than most of the ppl in the world.

  • I think a better song for this would have been Siouxsie and the Banshees' "happy house", considering the message is that Goths can be happy, and are not just depressed folk. That would have been perfect. Goths are not really trying to be "sad" or to look "sad", it's just a common interpretation of their dark look. In truth, blackness and darkness has nothing to do with sorrow... I could go on and on, but youtube has character limits. Perhaps I should make a video about this, too.

  • @Sinesith You should, I know what you're saying exactly. In many places away from western society white is more closely associated with death than black. It's just the mindset most people are programmed with.

  • I get really mad when I tell people (not just ANY person) that I wanna go punk/emo, then they just throw it into goth. I have nothing against goth people, I just don't dress that way. It just pisses me off. Especially now that I'm known as " Creepy Goth Girl" Why can't they learn that goth is just a style of expressing your taste in music and clothing, the same as Punk/emo.

  • @twinklelittleyoshi Saying that punk and emo are entirely different as well.

  • People with mohawks and fantasy-color dreads are goth now?? Did anyone tell THEM?

I'll bet they would NOT consider themselves the least bit gothic.

It's not going to stop being fun to make fun of dark little goth/emo/scene fuckers for being "SAD".

It's FUNNY that goth kids ACT SAD.

The entire making of this video proves that somebody's pissed about their relationship to what they perceive to be society at large.

Maybe admit that you enjoy being misunderstood.

    -A fellow freak.

  • goth's are cool :) their style is art and i totally love it *.* support for the gothic scene :)

  • Thank's for all the replies... Believe me.. I Love Goths Style... But in Indonesia we dont have Goth.. Its unfortunatelly because I like to see them dress out.... I love Goth Picture.. It just I have a relagion... But for me nothing wrong with Goth as long as they are not hurting people around... Full support for Goth.. Wish I could dress like that.. hikzzzz

  • they are all just geeks...not a bad thing

  • I believe people confuse Gothic style with that "emo" style. I definitely know first hand that they can be the nicest people you'll ever meet! I can't say I like being confused with a bunch of teenagers that make their moodiness into a fashion statement and twist it into some wimpy sub-goth genre.

  • Goth is dead. Back in the day you got your ass kicked for wearing all black and spiking your hair. Today your gently welcomed by Methodists. The goth "look" is all that remains, I support all those wrapped up with the image but the "nerve" isn't there anymore. Everything is tolerated today. Back in 86 I had a liberty spike, I got picked on and a group of Ropers cornered me and cut me bald. Bitter? No! We had "edge". Goth is lost without a homophobic, christian predator period!

  • every time i go to school, people expect me to pull out a bloody knife on them or cast a spell to make them die. one person even grabbed my arms and asked why there weren't cut marks on them. come on, people!! just because i'm goth does not mean that i'm depressed. sure, i grew into the culture when i was going through depression, but who cares? the only reason i don't smile a lot is because it kinda makes my cheeks look all puffy. thank you for posting this video. thank you very much. :)

  • @goddessofmusic101

Know the feeling. The other day a lady pulled her dog away from me like I was going to eat it...I wasn't even wearing my everyday goth clothes, I'd toned it down to go on a walk.

    Irony is...I'm actually Vegetarian :)

  • Aussi, votre anglais est très bon! mais il y avait un erreur: tu as écrit 'esthetic,' mais le mot est 'aesthetic.' bon vidéo, je l'aime beaucoup! il faut que le monde comprenne les goth heureux. :)

  • Calm down, people! everyone can be who they want to be, there is an exception to everything, etc. if someone dresses/looks the way they want, wouldn't they be happy?

  • @royspeedyharper If you actually believe that you are sadly mistaken.

  • @MyAngelCorpse slag off twihard. goth WAS a state of mind not a fashion sense you vapid git. It was staring into the void of nothingness and not caring, playing chicken with the grim reaper and not flinching. Not desperately trying to stand out enough so that people think you are interesting or so that people think you are deep. Rule one: If you called yourself goth you were not.

  • @royspeedyharper Fine, I'll leave you to your opinion then.

  • Stupid posers bitches. Beautiful cunts who sucking dick for first raper.

  • Wumpscut is not Gothic.

  • 0:27 I fuckin love this(:

  • I just love that they used ::WUMPSCUT:: for the audio! AWESOME!

  • I have a question... Im not judging..Just curios... Are all Gothic doesnt believe in GOD... Does Gothic have a relagion? Pls answer,im so curious...Thanks

  • @Tweety0507 goth has nothing to do with religion. you can meet atheist goths, Jewish Goths, Pagan Goths, Catholic goths, Satanic Goths, Wiccan Goths......

  • @gothfana for me a satanic is a satanic, not a "satanic goth"...

  • @gothfana if im right we norsemen created goths am i right ?

  • Comment removed

  • @Tweety0507 watch gothic charm school here on youtube, great videos to answer all you questions! I for one am a devout Catholic goth.

  • @Tweety0507 Goth is not a religion and many Goths do not believe in God. There are also Goths who do believe in God. It all varies on the individual Goth.

  • @Tweety0507 goth has nothing to do with religion..you can be christian, atheist, Islamic, satanist, etc. You dont have to be a certain religion to be a goth

  • @Tweety0507 I'm a so called goth you could say and I'm a buddhist is this also helps add to the other answer.

  • @Tweety0507 Like gothfana said, being a goth doesn't tell you "you have to believe in god" or "you have to believe in satan". Like normal people, you can choose to believe in anything you want :)

  • -_- Half the people were emo or scene.

  • I think being goth is finding beauty in where others may not. If you looked at me you might not see a stereotype of a goth. i like to ear jeans and a t-shirt these days, but I still find beauty wherever I go. I don't consider myself "goth" anymore. I'm just Allie.^_^ dark cute and weird. ^_^

  • Goth girls always had more fun....nephilim t shirt, stag jeans and winkle pickers....thats me sorted

  • I know gothic people, they are actually good people to hang out with like be around with them, people just don't approach them because of the way they look. :3

  • Please feed the starving exploited people who die younger

  • Goth referred to middle age. I ΗΑΤΕ how people correlate goth with body death, graves, skulls and stuff like that. The only connection i can think of, is regeneration which could be symbolised by spiritual death or death of everything ugly.

  • @GreatQueenFan

you, my friend, are very wrong.

Gothic is a symbol of weirdness, something beautiful but very odd, which will make people stare at and at the same time think of how beautiful it is and be afraid of it.

That's why gothic era (history and art) was called like that - pointy buildings with sharp edges, abstract but wonderful.

That's the same reason why E.A.Poe and other similiar romantic writers were considered as "gothic literature" even back in their time.

  • @MrmAAngeluS

And also, several decades ago, that's the reason why Jim Morisson from The Doors, on a question of "How would you describe your music genre?" replied with "Gothic rock".

Which all leads to present time - goths and gothic is an obscure genre and, as JHaley1986 said, "mindset and musical style", which is in the same time terrifying and beautiful.

It has nothing to do with "stealing" anything, nor it has to do with depression or ancient times.

Study your literature before raging. =)

  • @MrmAAngeluS i agree. do you mean that i was wrong in the era i mentioned.

  • @GreatQueenFan not the era you mentioned, you got it right, but you were wrong in the reason why goths call themselves that way. You said you hate how we connect gothic with graves, death, mysticism, etc., but if you listened to some of the lyrics and connect that with what I wrote earlier, you'd understand why we do that. =)

  • that's cool whether i'm goth or not i'm MULTICULTURAL :) :D ^_^ ! ! !

  • People are too lazy and selfish to take their time to get to know people now.. -.-

Every people in that aera, are the nicest people you can meet by heart <3

  • 0:54 :D

  • im hungry, cook me somthing?

  • awesome pictures in this slideshow, fabulous styles, Im missing the "IlurveButton" again:P NICEE

  • Great pics !

  • @UndeadxGothic Hehe and I'm Wiccan ^^ There is no single religion (or non-religion, in your case), nor is there any secret goth cabal saying that "You must have THIS religion to be goth" blah blah :)

  • ugh i had this conversation with this blond preppy form my science class, she was all like "you know that satanist goth chick that walks around school" then she said "why do some people have to be goth and be depressed all the time, why cant they look like normal people." gosh u have no idea how much i wanted to punch her. she also rants about me being a bubble goth

  • @VoluptuousVimVielle bubble goth is so cute! <3

  • @SiMuSiCvidmania ^w^ ty

  • i liked this video i feel that goths get a bad reputation for the sole fact that people cant accept us for who we are and that we happen to have different taste than everyone else. Rock on fellow goths!!!

  • 0:42 OMFG I want her boots!! :D

  • @AjaEmo Demonia boots :)

  • @gothfana I love them :)

  • @AjaEmo I have those boots ;)

  • @JonnyVampyre Damn you're lucky

  • i have just the same Demonia boots!!! :)

  • OMG, you hit the nail right on the head when you made this video. I for one am tired of these stupid stereotypes for us goths. Kudos on the video and music.

  • I know this is so random and had little to do with the video but @ 1:09 that dog is so CUTE! XD ok sorry just had to say it. XP

also... Goths are amazing! I'm not one myself but I sure have a close friend that is one! She's so fun and the best to hang out with. :)

  • haha,i got into the "gothic" subculture about three years ago, both out of curiosity and as trying to be "normal" and having friends that only cared about popularity and getting their own way wasnt working for me.three years on im happy, have amazing friends who i can trust and were always there for eachother(and have great humor),arnt afraid of what people think of me and am comfortable being myself, my only regret is that i didnt make the desicion sooner, everyone has bad times, not just goths.

  • seems like the gothic community is very open, warm, welcoming of anyone, no superficialness. Wether you have a purple mohawk or simply brown hair with lots of eyeliner

    :)

    so interesting

  • @kiikat Yep yep, it really is a mellow subculture. Just because we look strange doesn't mean we are evil and want to hurt others, it's just a form of expressing ourselves in a different way. = )

  • Wumpscut - Wreath of Barbs

    Good choice.

  • I'm not a Goth i'm more into gothic punk stuff like The Damned and The Cramps, but the nicest people i've ever met are goths.

  • this video is true, haha i may have a different style. but i'm one happy mofo XD

  • I absolutely love this video

  • I have recently befriended a lot of goths and I can tell you that they are some of the nicest people I have ever met. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that they aren't hiding behind a mask of conformity. So many people are bent out of shape because they feel they need to fit into the 'norm' when all they really want to do is let their wild side out but are afraid of how they will be perceived.

  • great music awesome pics

  • i like goths.. but dressing here goth clothes in our country can attract so much attention

  • cool video, i like goths

  • Not to offend, but some Goth people scare me, I mean I am not afraid to get shot at by gun, I don't flinch by a gun nor do I hesitate to approach a person with a gun, but I hesitate to approach some Goths, and then there's the really sexy ones. =]

  • I agree, if there's one thing that we can pull off really well...it's having a laugh at ourselves and having fun :)

  • @SuperStewartfan14 - Secretly I'm a little bit naughty >;3

  • @SuperStewartfan14 - I totally have half of my head shaved ;D what of it, keyboard warrior?

  • Finally someone has proof that where like everyone else. We just look different. And we don't always wear just all black, we change it up a bit to at times.

    - Voan D

  • Wumpscut. OH YEAH baby.

  • Picture 0:33 so cute <3

  • Beautiful video.

  • i hate that people are juding goths. i really hate it. Goth people are extremely beautiful, creative and looking for the true meanings in life.

  • nice onee!

  • @SuperStewartfan14 it's not my fault if you're close minded. (and there are so many problems on this earth, why don't u care about something really important?)

  • @SuperStewartfan14 and why not? diversity is beautiful. humans are not supposed to be all the same like clones. or maybe in Hitler's mind...

  • the few goth people ive met are always the most polite and least djudgemental people i have met so i like goths alot and i am facinated with them...

  • any 16 year old goth girls out there? fucking sucks where i live preps drool over me and its fucking annoying! ps im more of a "crunchy" industrial goth, lots of piercings, liberty spikes, platform boots etc,

  • hi i saw your video and I have a question, since i was 11(im 20 now) i always loved morbid/dark things, like skulls, bats, pentagrams, and wearing black, even before i discovered metal music. i also love cemeteries because of the grave art. i never label myself as anything( but i do consider myself a metalhead cause i love metal). so i wanted to ask you if i can be consider Goth? Or being goth is more then this? I always wondered if I could fit in that category.

  • We are not satanists, don't be sad and evil... Most of us hate the world cause it hated us for actually being ourselves... Who's with me?

  • This is "still life" not "real life".

  • i wish people knew we arnt al like sad and evil lol

  • im actually goth and emo and i completly agree goths can act how ever they want they dont have to be sad i am sometimes but i have depression and if i was never sad i wouldnt be human now would i

  • im actually goth and emo and i completly agree goths can act how ever they want they dont have to be sad i am sometimes but i hav4e depression and if i was never sad i would be human now would i

  • lol I just love 0:53

  • ok i just want to say one thing. Goth is NOT fashion its a subculture.

  • 0:23 its like one of the cutest pictures iv ever seen !

  • i would love to date a goth, i've seen some of the most gorgeous goth guys and i just want to drool all over them lol...i've never judged them, if anything i'd ask them what kind of eyeliner they used, might as well get some good tips! NO judgement here :) also, I have a question, this is the naive side of me asking...Is 'goth-ism' like a religion? can u have like a christian or catholic goth or something? i'm just curious

  • @MJFanz411 no, goths usualy believe in nothing, they are atheists. but you can find some christian goths, too

  • @gothfana hehe not all are atheist in our society, there is a low percentage of who practice wiccan and some are antichrist :D some are also muslim but few all i can say are , we are all open minded :3

  • @gothfana I'd actually say the majority of goths I know are more or less in an apathetic state of agnosticism, though you do see goths of many backgrounds, as for me I'm a Christian, xD

  • @gothfana that's probably depends on where do you live - most goths I know are actually Catholics, even tho most of them don't really practise their religion ;)

  • @gothfana wrong. Goth has no religion. Jewish Goths, Pagan Goths, Catholic goths, Satanic Goths, Wiccan Goths.. We all exist.

  • OH MY GOD! No, goth isn't a religion, its a mindset, musical style and fashion. I cant believe how narrow minded some people are. Is being a hippy a religion? How about a card carrying member of the NRA? No. Why would you assume that just because we like to dress this way means that we are part of some cult or something?! I mean WTF man. FURTHER MORE, "no, goths usualy believe in nothing, they are atheists. but you can find some christian goths, too" Is a HUGE line of bullsh*t. Totally untrue.

  • @JHaley1986 Ah, well said my friend. But here's a few addatives: To some Goths, Goth is a religion, in the sense that they worship everything that makes Goth Goth. And just for a continous motion of the description, when stated ''we are not sad or depressive''. well, that's mostly correct, but (yet again, some) Goths (such as myself) find the feeling of grief and sorrow quite soothig, so may I quote Draconian - Death Come Near Me, when I say ''the rapture of grief is all''.

    Stay Goth!

  • @JHaley1986 Tweety wasnt asking if goth was a religion, they were just asking if there was a religion that Gothic people tend to generally follow

  • @JHaley1986 i know a lot of Catholic goths...

  • @JHaley1986 Whoa there calm down. No need to get explosive. Some people honestly don't know the answer to that question so they ask. Yes its old always answering it, but its part of the life we choose. So lets just answer nicely and move on and not explode on the other people. Its things like that that give goths the bad rep that we are mean and waiting to attack people. But i do agree that saying that all goths are atheists is untrue. My best friend is a christan goth, and I am a

  • @Gordaniera123191 Pagan goth.

  • @MJFanz411 Goths aren't like a differant thing all together they are human, they can be christian, catholic maybe even muslim? (maybe i took it a step to far) but still, goths are human, they aren't a piece of shit on the floor, i'm not a goth, i guess im classed as 'emo' since i get called it alot :S (ha ha go cut yourself. save it heard it before kkthx, and for your info i don't.) but yeah back on topic, people judge people all the time, even myself, its part of human nature unfortantly.

  • @MJFanz411 there is no particular thing goths believe in. There are some gothik religions that often deal with paganism but goths follow common religions as well

  • @SheroShinihamaru oh OK, thank you :)

  • @MJFanz411 there are alot of goths who like chrisitanity for its architecture, symbolism ect. (they think christianity is pretty and creepy) there are also a lot of atheist, pagan/wiccan goths

  • @MJFanz411 Most of the Goths I know are Pagans actually.

  • @MJFanz411 goth has no set religion there are goths all religions and there are goths of no religion.

But yes you can be christian and goth. My boyfriend and I both are. ^_^

  • @ladynerdneedslove are you christians because of family tradition or do you actually agree / approve christian beliefs?

  • @ValuriDeNisip I am Gnostic Christan. My family is church of God. so we differ on a lot of stuff like i dont think a person will go to hell just because there gay. but yes my faith is my own not some thing any one can force me in to.

  • @ladynerdneedslove i am not aware of the difference between a gnostic christian and a christian. i know that gnosis is knowledge. That is why i call myself an agnostic, for i admit i do not know anything about this matter and i also believe no one actually does. Even the most faithful christians have their moments of doubt, whether they admit it or not.

  • @ValuriDeNisip Gnostic Christan is a little like that in saying I don't now every thing and i have no right to say god only loves some people. also it's about seeking knowledge

  • @ladynerdneedslove oh. but saying you're a gnostic would imply that you have some knowledge in this regard. and yet, you probably havent experienced anything that would encourage you to believe there's more about this world than what is within our reach . seeking knowledge? through what? i wonder why you choose to believe in the christian god and not in other deities / supernatural beings.

  • @ValuriDeNisip Why would it mater what deity I choose if I said I was Wicca or any other faith would we still be having this conversation. I choose the Christan God for many of the same reasons I am goth it's what I feel my best path is it's what makes me happy.and as you pointed out no one can truly say they know every thing. And no one chooses a realign bast on logic it's faith. so I know I may be wrong. and I seek earthly Knowledge by studying and trying to thinking about things deeply. why?

  • @ladynerdneedslove im not sure whether we'd still have this conversation if you said you were a wiccan for instance and that is because, from what ive heard, wicca doesnt seem to impose so many rules regarding obedience and punishment. thing is, you said that you dont believe gay people will be punished for their "sin", but that is exactly what christianity suggests. and to say you dont agree with it, although you're a christian, would in fact be a violation of a fundamental rule,a 'sin' .

  • @ValuriDeNisip This is true but Christianity also speaks of a God that deeply loves all his children.

and as I said be for I am going on faith even if I am wrong I think god will forgive me.

those of us that have a faith of any kind choose what we do with it. I choose compassion and love. If I had my way we'd all go to a Happy after life and no my fundamental beliefs don't all mach my chosen faith. I'm only human after all. We all contradict our self's in some ways.

  • I used to make fun of goths when I was younger a lot, because I think I was really scared of what the stereotypes said. (This was like in fifth grade and stuff) But in this ironic world, I'm in highschool, a goth, and realized what being one truly is! :D Thanks for posting. It's a saver :)

  • Wreath of Barbs! ;d

  • 14. Goth. i smile. I love. No, i dont hate life. No i dont dress this way out of rebellion. I am just being me just as you are just being you. NOH8 ;)

  • Finally found a video saying GOOD things about gothic people ^_^ so going in my faves and 5 stars

  • PRETTY VIDEO :)

    SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TRUE

  • Its funny to us how people think we're all scary, but we ARE happy people like in this video, and to think this is comming from a 13 year old. And you also have Cybergoth which is cool.

  • goth is more than the outside. and i can tell ;)

  • ok lets face it... goths probably goof off, laugh and smile more than the so called normal person. :P

  • I remember me and a friend of mine (who is goth) were sitting at school, and she doesnt smile often, and someone walked by just as I cracked a joke, she laughed and the person walking by screamed and fall over....it was great

  • WOW all these people commenting here, If we would all live together it would be AWESOME... I absolutely love the video ^^

  • im 28 still holding strong...im like the Ozzy goth

  • I'm glad there are videos like this one out there because so many people are scared of us because we're differently dressed or have a different lifestyle than them. I've been out at the flea market and had a little boy say to his mother after seeing me,"Mommy, it scares me." The mom looked at me then looked at the boy and said,"Just close your eyes honey, and it will go away." I'm not an it but nevertheless I was amused. people need to stop being scared of what they don't understand. open up ppl

  • Ok..I used to think goths were weird and scary and did rituals on animals and were never happy and had sex all the time(don't ask me why)....but after I've watched a few vids like these I don't. And I do believe that they are happier than some of the other people at my school. Just sayin. And I got a question and I don't want to offend anyone, but what does Ur parents say about yall dressing like how y'all do, etc? My dad wouldn't like it. No offense. But I've just been currious. Please answer

  • @bbbrianna3 well I'm 26! so my parents don't bother me with my style anymore.

  • @gothfana mine dont bother me about mine though if iuse eyeliner only then they do.

u want to go goth just do it u may like it u maybe happier as well just ignore the steroetypes though

  • @bbbrianna3 i think every perant stuggles with the idea in the beginning, some of them more than other :)

But they get used to it once they know we haven't changed, only our looks are different :)

Most goths "evolve" into this clothing style... Starts with 1 bracelet and 1 necklace to... well... alot of them :P

my friends, family and other loved ones don't care about my looks, i can look pretty normal too once i take my clothes off ^,..,^

  • @bbbrianna3 I'm 20, and my mother is like "I LOVE THE WAY YOU DRESS UP!!" and she even dresses up goth when I make parties at home... My father is still like "cut your hair!" :|

  • @bbbrianna3 am not goth , but still i have some "goth influences " if i can say it lik that , like i wear eyelinre and nail polish and have long hair and i wear like.. bulllet betls and chains , (am a metalhead actualy) and well... my parents got used to it , even if they don't like it they can't do anything about it.

  • @bbbrianna3 well,my parents don't realy care about it,just my mother sometimes is like "isn't that too nice for wearing just like that?"

  • @bbbrianna3 most of us are over 18 and our parents cant really do anything about it. i still live with my parents and recently turned 18. they really dont like it but i honestly dont care and i respect them as long as they respect me. they cant say anything bad about it cuz i dont do any bad crap. and i probably smile more than most other people. pluse we dont always dress like that and we can look pretty normal P

  • @bbbrianna3 My parents used to stir me a bit, my dad always said I looked like Gene Simmons. But, just be who you are and believe in yourself. And if they get out of hand with it, just sit them down and tell them this is who you are, and they're just going to have to live with that.

  • @bbbrianna3 They'll accept it...granted I did freak my dad out for a few years, mom was fine with it,though they probably thought it was a phase, every one is different. If we were all the same it would be a preetty lame world wouldn't it?

  • @bbbrianna3 i'm 21 and christian so i find a happy medium between me an my parents. ^_^ it works out...my parents have no problem with how i dress.

  • @bbbrianna3 Most of goths are adults so they don´t have to ask parents about anything. But those that are living with parents... Parents may not like it and think they are weird or get scared after seeing photos from some events ( ...like my mom :D ) but there is nothing to worry about so most of people don´t have problems with parents. ...well not more than other teenagers. This "decadent" subculture is surprisingly MUCH more civilized than "normal people".

  • @bbbrianna3 I'm a goth, I have been since I was teen. My parents don't mind it at all, they support me with whatever I wanna do :] My parents think I look cool actually :P And my friends' parents, they're all pretty cool about it too. My boyfriend's mom loves my style (thats always a plus! :P) and all other parents I have met interact a lot, so they got to know me and they know I'm a good girl :] Plus, my mom always says "at least she's not showing any private parts of her body" :]

  • @bbbrianna3 I embraced the goth in me when I was about 14(I'm now 18) and I found that once you start wearing all black or doing your make up slightly different there's really not too much your parents can actually do. However a balance between independence and respect is always needed so if they're really against high platform shoes(as mine where) start with a shorter heal or flat Doc's.

  • @bbbrianna3 My mums goth as well so she's completely fine with it xD

And my dad's accepting of it, he's happy that I'm me and can see I'm happy with who i am :3 He actually kind of thinks it's funny when i change like hair colour or something. He just accepts the fact i'm making life weird and exciting :3

I'm very lucky tho to have accepting parents o.o (i am 19 tho but still) there are a lot of parents who don't see past the stereotypes -_-

  • @bbbrianna3 I'm constantly looking different (like day to day even sometimes) My parents don't really care. My mom has asked me before if she could use some of my stylings for halloween and I was just like "thaaankss"
