@TheSpydaa turn off the ps3 from the mains hold the disck button while you turn it on from the mains there should be a loud fan like noise you wait and the disck come right out also when the fan noise stops turn it on and off from the mains then it might work (it doesnt work on all ps3 though

if you hold eject while your ps3 is off then switch it on while still holding it, the fan will turn on and it gives you 30 secs of green light, which allows you to get the game out

you got that piece of shit from a pawn shop buy a slim and it doesnt have to do with overheating it has to do with the cpu and the gpu losing connection with the hardrive because the hardrive is filled with gunk, so remove the hd and clean it if that doesnt work, take it apart take out the motherboard and put more thermal paste on the heat spots then take a heat gun and go over the board for about 15min then let it stand 4 about 15min then put it all back together and bam your shits fixed

the console fails because of the ROHS complient solder, the GPU/CPU heats thermally flexing the solder joints, eventually 1 of the 100's of joints fail causing the above error.
u guys do know once u fix a ps3 that had YLOD, it's going to be a temporary fix not permanent, I only fix my ps3 so i can deactivate and get all my saved data quickly, that's what u guys should do too, instead of playing right away after fixed

Unfotunately if your out of warranty your screwed. It will cost $250 for Sony to repair it, and you'll probably get a different refurbished unit. There are a few cheap do-it-yourself fixes you can try, but they have inconsistent results and usually the fix is temporary. You're better off buying a new console if your out of warranty and this happens to you.

hmm ever since the new MW2 dlc there has been an increase in ps3 flashing red light problems. I got the new dlc the other day and now it shuts itself off about 1 minute into an online game. Never done it before although i did notice that i had a shit connection with a 120ms ping.(usualy i get into games that are 50-70 ms ping. Got the disc out and it was quite warm. Tried it three times and still shuts off after about 5 mins.
my ps3 sits on a table n it has the flashin red light quite often but it still works, basically sometimes i turn it on and the fans go crazy as in they go really loud and faster, i just turn it off and the flashing light comes, i turn it on and it just works agen :S
this happened to me i keep mine in a tv stand with sliding doors it got real hot but i got my handy manny tool set cut a hole in the back of the tv stand put a exhaust fan with a switch cools in seconds.

I've heard nightmares about people exchanging out consoles like getting the wrong model back. Take it to some kid that works at a local private computer store, not Best Buy. They will probably tell you exactly how to do it and might open it for you. Sony should be the last resort

force eject dosent work on 60 models btw, u need to take it to a local repair shop. they reheat the gpu and cpu and add thermal compound to keep them cool, so they dont overheat, repair 40-60 £ GBP

You can force eject the disk by turning it off in the back and holding down the eject button when you turn it back on using the back switch.

hmm ever since the new MW2 dlc there has been an increase in ps3 flashing red light problems. I got the new dlc the other day and now it shuts itself off about 1 minute into an online game. Never done it before although i did notice that i had a shit connection with a 120ms ping.(usualy i get into games that are 50-70 ms ping. Got the disc out and it was quite warm. Tried it three times and still shuts off after about 5 mins.

my ps3 sits on a table n it has the flashin red light quite often but it still works, basically sometimes i turn it on and the fans go crazy as in they go really loud and faster, i just turn it off and the flashing light comes, i turn it on and it just works agen :S

this happened to me i keep mine in a tv stand with sliding doors it got real hot but i got my handy manny tool set cut a hole in the back of the tv stand put a exhaust fan with a switch cools in seconds.

I've heard nightmares about people exchanging out consoles like getting the wrong model back. Take it to some kid that works at a local private computer store, not Best Buy. They will probably tell you exactly how to do it and might open it for you. Sony should be the last resort

force eject dosent work on 60 models btw, u need to take it to a local repair shop. they reheat the gpu and cpu and add thermal compound to keep them cool, so they dont overheat, repair 40-60 £ GBP
