  • One of the best rock voices ever! And an amazing band, horribly underrated.

  • Beautiful Ian!!!

  • Excellent tune!

Refers to the elusive female ejaculation! :)

  • Did Mark Brzezicki ever play live with them?I know he only did the first album. And this isn't exactly "playing" live......

  • they r the best

  • I love Ian

  • Hehe the amps is not real =D

Look when the camera rolls from 0:17 to 0:22 !

  • Bought the "LOVE" album in late 85 with money earned from my paper round! Every track is knockout. Went on learn drums and one of he bands I played in used to cover this and Hollow Man - they used to get the pubs rocking !- remember this edition of TOTP, thanks for posting.

  • just as good now as it was 23 years ago the sign of a true classic.

  • I fucking Love Ian Astbury. Love Get It! He honestly has one of the greatest voices ever.

  • why playback??

  • this vid is the best of the youTube 'Rain' offerings because the audio is from the studio release (as opposed to the always inferior live versions). Now if anyone could please post the vastly superior studio extended version...

  • Love the Anadin Brothers..

  • I am missing The Anadin Brothers here... where are they? Backstage most likely... sigh..

  • edit: 80's Music is the most diversified and BEST EVER!

  • The LOVE album was one of their BEST!! Love Removal Machine rocked as well. The Cult was so underrated in the 80's. Nice to see they live on through YouTube!

  • The Cult underrated in the 80s? You must have lived in a different 1980's to me...

  • I meant, compared to Def Leppard, Duran Duran, Scorpions, Tears for Fears, Howard Jones, AC DC, Michael Jackson, ABC, Missing Persons, Bon Jovi, Pet Shop Boys, Dead or Alive, New Order, Queensryche, etc., etc., etc, they didn't get the "spotlight" or the "credit" they deserved. *0's music was the most diversified and BEST EVER!

  • I used to have it in a VHS, a billion thanks!

  • Hooooo...I love this song! This album is excellent from beginning to end...sure brings back great memories!

  • I am so glad that eventually they made their minds up and became an excellent rock band.

  • How good they were....so this were the 80s. Love is indeed a timeless record. I just can't get enough from this song....great sound.

  • Fucking great band - good to see this kind of shit youtube...

  • They Must've Not Hired Les Warner Yet Because It's Mark Brzezicki On Drums There.

  • ok.

  • Thanks. My brother was born around that time. He past away. He was only 6 days old. He was born on 17th October 1985 on Thursday when Top of the pops was on Thursdays around that time. Me and my brother were born on the same day. I was born 14th July 1983 on Thursday. We had our own top of the pops but different number 1s.

  • which month is this?

  • I would imagine Oct. TOTP appearances generally followed a month after a release, once it had time to generate popularity and become a hit.

  • Have u got more top of the pops performance in October 1985?

  • I didn't post this but I do think I have them on vhs somewhere. However I do believe that most if not all of the other TOTP performances of The Cult have been uploaded onto here by others.
