Bought the "LOVE" album in late 85 with money earned from my paper round! Every track is knockout. Went on learn drums and one of he bands I played in used to cover this and Hollow Man - they used to get the pubs rocking !- remember this edition of TOTP, thanks for posting.
this vid is the best of the youTube 'Rain' offerings because the audio is from the studio release (as opposed to the always inferior live versions). Now if anyone could please post the vastly superior studio extended version...
The LOVE album was one of their BEST!! Love Removal Machine rocked as well. The Cult was so underrated in the 80's. Nice to see they live on through YouTube!
I meant, compared to Def Leppard, Duran Duran, Scorpions, Tears for Fears, Howard Jones, AC DC, Michael Jackson, ABC, Missing Persons, Bon Jovi, Pet Shop Boys, Dead or Alive, New Order, Queensryche, etc., etc., etc, they didn't get the "spotlight" or the "credit" they deserved. *0's music was the most diversified and BEST EVER!
Thanks. My brother was born around that time. He past away. He was only 6 days old. He was born on 17th October 1985 on Thursday when Top of the pops was on Thursdays around that time. Me and my brother were born on the same day. I was born 14th July 1983 on Thursday. We had our own top of the pops but different number 1s.
I didn't post this but I do think I have them on vhs somewhere. However I do believe that most if not all of the other TOTP performances of The Cult have been uploaded onto here by others.
One of the best rock voices ever! And an amazing band, horribly underrated.

I am so glad that eventually they made their minds up and became an excellent rock band.

which month is this?
kawuku 5 years ago
I would imagine Oct. TOTP appearances generally followed a month after a release, once it had time to generate popularity and become a hit.
