MY GOD, this is breathtaking... I just searched on 'man of la mancha' hoping to explain it (to someone to young to have heard of it) and fully expecting to wade thru a lot of inferior/amateurish performances before hitting a good one. Totally lucked out there, I guess. ;)
I hope this guy's talent gets discovered & rewarded.
When my school did this, I played in the orchestra (clarinet). I loved the music!! The clarinet in this vid sounds very odd. Must be the recording equipment.
The guy who played Don Quixote in our play isn't the best singer, mostly because he isn't trained, but he LIVED and BREATHED the part. He was so hilarious . . . and the guy who played Sancho, XD But perhaps the funniest of all were our "horses."
DAMN! I need to get me some singers like that at /my/ high school. *plots to abduct singer and force him into choir*
Anyway, in all seriousness, very nice. The word 'courage' sounded nicer here than it does when most professionals sing it. With most singers, the vowel rubs me the wrong way. Very, very, very nice.
It is high school...but from a few years ago. - Colin is an exceptionally talented actor, singer, and musician. (Anyone out there have video of his scenes from Romeo and Juliet?) And Colin, if you see this... keep at it... I haven't uploaded all these videos just so you (and C.C.!) can fade into oblivion! You better come back to NY some day, and make a name for yourself...
You can also see this actor perform in the posted video "Friendship" from "Anything Goes". He's great at comedy, too! And his two co-stars are no slouches, either...
Yep - for real. So real, in fact, a few people were annoyed at the teacher who directed the show because they assumed the lead actor was a hired pro, and not a high school student like the rest of the actors!
@bellsquarrybabe, is this guy in school for musical theatre or a music degree of some sort? This performance alone should've helped him get admitted to one of the great colleges. Amazing.
Wow- pretty impressive for High School...I'm a little taken aback!

This guy should follow his dream, and not settle.

This kid was great! I hope he is reaching for his dream because he certainly has the talent and not that bogus American Idol faux talent.
This kid has talent and charisma!

I am very impressed. I've seen plenty a professional actor fail to get anywhere close to this character as he did.

AWESOME job. Great use of vibrato but he didn't try and be Peter O'Toole either. Excellent.

Amazing. High School is not only that stupid High school Musical's Zac Efron. Colin Dwyer is now one of my favorite singers.

This is the best HS performance I have ever seen. Is this for real? The music sounds HS but the performance is to top notch Broadway-like.
