  • If you can't hear this, your crazy lol.

  • that's AWESOME!!!!!!!

  • In some parts I can hear it, but it's quite faint. I think it's just how good your ears can pick up high pitched sounds, if your an adult it would probably be harder to hear than if you're a child....

  • That is extremely good. Few know the amount of skill it takes. Cheers!

  • I really enjoy your straightforward, unpretentious presentation of something that takes a lot of skill! ... MsBalsam13 of praisebe.info

  • That is frickin amazing!

  • i hear just öööööööööüüüüüüüööööööööööö, wheres the song?? no words? from manchuria to turkey there are many altaic ppl who can do that. wheres the song???

  • dont u have somethin else to do?

  • Exactly what are we supposed to be hearing? I hear you singing it with throat singing, but is that it? o_O

  • @PolarityArt You're suppose to be listening to the high whistle tone. It's produced by "cutting" the note. I explain it on my tutorial.

  • @PolarityArt Cool! Don't you hear it? He's like a synth wave form!

  • Oh this is so neat...no clue how anyone would be able to do that.

  • What is a 'nodule'?

  • @Tiwaking You get it in your throat when you damage your voice long enough. It takes a very long time to heal from nodules.

  • Another reason you all might nto be able to hear it is shitty laptop speakers. Try some headphones :D

  • that is so insane.. tingles my ear drums. My choir teacher can do this exactly and i was the ONLY ONE who could hear it. Everyone in my class just laughed and paid attention to the C he was singing... noobs

  • @iliketoscreamLOUD LOL, I like that: "noobs."

  • I heard this in class. At first I heard it, it was amazing. My teacher replayed the video for a student who couldn't hear it and for some reason I couldn't hear it the second time.

  • @iEnjoiSushi With the overtones, you really have to focus on what you're listening to. Since us in the west didn't grow up with this, it takes a while to get used to in order to catch the overtones.

Tell your teacher "thank you" for me for using my video. I appreciate it :)

  • I can't hear it :( Any tips?

  • @swimmy1000 If you listen to the whistle register you should be able to pick it up. If not, whistle the tune after you hear my video, and then watch the video again. Hope this helps you.

  • @yuichituba Got it! Thank you so much

  • I am one that hasn't a clue about what it is you were doing in here. I want so badly to ask, "What the hell? And, those who are lauding him, you can't be serious!". But, being that I am ignorant about what it is that you're doing, I shall just remain silent on the matter (the exception to that being what I have written here). Thank you:)

  • @jarbon5 You sound like an intelligent person that is honest and yet open to things outside of his own understanding. What may help is trying to listen to the "Amazing Grace" melody in the whistle range.

You can whistle "Amazing Grace" first, and then watch this video if it helps. If not, I can try to help you hear it.

  • @yuichituba I watched the "Amazing Grace........again" video, and now I have a better understanding (somewhat) of what's going on. Thanks:)

  • I just did it although it's not quite as clean. My son recognized the melody and I was pretty stoked! I'll practice it some more and perhaps post it! Very nice bro.

  • @randyjsing That's awesome, man! Sounds like you're on the right track.

  • I am just figuring out how to do this. I can't seem to control the pitches I get yet. any hints?

  • Astonishing! Wonderful!

  • Hey dude that was awesome!! keep it up!

  • First of all, may I say I am a voice professor of vocal pedagogy (how the voice works) in a university and a Fulbright Scholar in Wagnerian opera. There is no need to have concern about getting nodes from doing this. All singing is a matter of placement and overtones, The extra notes you are hearing are merely overtones. I recommend you also see on YouTube: Kongar-ol Ondar with Bady-Dhorzhu Ondar and Kongar-ol Ondar on David Letterman's Late Show.

  • You're the second non-monk, I 've met who can do this. Bravo! The 1st was a flautist (C. Bohling) who used to do multiphonics when we were creating random music.

    ;-) Super!!!

  • @AngelaKikuchiKneale Hehe, thanks, Angela. I heard Bohling do it, he's good.

There's one German guy that does the same as I do, but waaaay better. He's awesome.

  • The overtones are so clear

  • That was amazing! i keep listening to it over and over. REALLY well done!

Thank you for making music that deserves to be heard.

  • @crazysabby Awesome, man. THanks so much for the kind words :)

  • @yuichituba in all honesty, it's making me cry.

  • @crazysabby That's a wonderful thing to hear, thank you. Then I recommend you to look up "Altai Kai throat singing." This recording brings tears to my eyes. He does the full-on throat singing with a melody. The style's interesting because he's from Syberia region so the music is more involved while he sings this wonderful melody. Let me know what you think.

  • @yuichituba very pretty thank you! Personally i find the accordion a bit distracting, but it's still very nice and the ending is way cool! :D

  • @crazysabby Cool. If you're looking for only voice there are some videos on here with that, even with 3 voices!

  • @yuichituba Thanks for all the suggestions. I really appreciate it :)

  • i can do that overtones are the best

  • this is the first time I hear about throat singing. It's very strange, but enjoyable.

  • pmsl

  • I love this, I wish I could do it.

  • another rendition: search "nathan rogers throat sings amazing grace"

  • i fell asleep

  • OMG. So creative. Last time I heard throat singing was at a Mongolian music festival thing in Hong Kong in... 1997?

  • @lyybravo Oh you did? That's cool! I want to hear a real live throat singer. I have yet to hear one.

  • @yuichituba just look in the mirror as you do this :P you are very good.

  • @HoboCabbage Thank you very much :)

  • Bit of a cunt you are sir.

  • haha i never realised how much its sounds like bagpipes until i heard amazing grace lol the pedal note i guess

  • I thought you had to have a partner facing you. So the different but harmonic notes produce a strange ethereal effect. I sometimes hum out a different harmonic note when playing harmonica. When done in rhythmic bursts it sounds crazy.

  • Wow!! Thank you for uploading such an AMAZING video! This singing style is called ホーミー, origines to mongollians, right? How did you learn it? I also sing so could you tell me about it if it is not secret?:) よろしくお願い致します!

  • Are the pitches not supposed to be original?

  • This is so neat...I just discovered throat singing and want to learn how. Plus we have a great staircase with awesome accoustics in our house, so I can practice there. Good job...unfortunately my lame teenage sons are going to crucify me for learning this. Oh well...

  • @thegreenfamilybooks bahaha, thats hilarious. oh well, let them hear your, maybe it'll teach them that you dont always have to like/do what everyone else thinks is cool. they're gonna have to learn that eventually

  • You say in your description that you don't want to do throat singing because it creates nodules. Actually, the exact opposite is true. Throat singing is the most therapeutic exercise you can do with your voice. In fact, some people with nodules can get rid of them without surgery just by talking in a throat singing manner for weeks and weeks. It's even better for your voice than complete vocal rest!

  • i hate that most of the people thinks they are actually doing it

when it doesnt sounds not nearly as the original throat singing

  • i hate that most of the people thinks they are actually doing it

when it doesnt sounds not nearly as the original throat singing

  • :)

  • Well it has nothing to do with amazing grace imo.

  • @Artingence the overtones he's producing by "throat singing" are the same notes that someone would sing when singing amazing grace without throat singing. duh.

  • sounds a lot like the bag pipes kinda

  • Why?

  • why not just whistle? lol

  • Sounds a bit like a bagpipe... But two different sounds in óne voice.. Bravo, very nicely done.! A real artform !!

  • thats class

  • i just can do it moving my lips, not with my tongue, it's a matter?

  • you have too much wooooooo sound in your singing try strangling your self to see if it is better, but nice work.

  • The first time I listened, I had no idea what you were up to. Then I listened again and…wow.

  • it took me a second to hear the overtones... WOW. well done!!!

  • really neat. reminds me of that one irish instrument

  • @U2ber45 bagpipes?

  • @U2ber45 u mean scottish if so

  • When creating the overtone pitch, are you using your tongue, or manipulating your vocal chords?

  • @claymator101 I'm using my tongue and a bit of my lips.

  • @yuichituba That's what she said.

  • @zackmorgs lol, that was awesome.

  • @yuichituba :D

  • yeah i didn't hear that til the second time i watched it, but that is incredible

  • This is pretty much awesome. You look so much the same as you did at Kinnick!

  • @NatalieCParker Haha, that was me a few years ago with my hair down. I guess I haven't changed much though. I'm still the silly dork from back then :)

  • @yuichituba That was pretty good. Are you improving now?

  • @johnknoefler No, I haven't really done it in years, lol.

  • this guy is in the key of G unlike most vids. I find overtone singing to be amazing. Every person has their own throat song with overtone. a sung whistle tune.

  • Wow. Amzing.

  • if you can sing the bass notes together then i'd be REAL impressed lol

  • @fuckinrelax Actually, one of the guys that posted a video response, a German dude, totally does it PERFECTLY. You should check it out, man. His name is xwokizok.

  • Wtf I really don't understand this. I can't hear it at all, it just sounds the same.

  • @Spratlin344 i couldnt hear it, until i tried to hum along with it. then i got it.

  • @Spratlin344

he's singing this constant low note and moving his mouth to produce overtones, sorta like guitar harmonics i think.

yea so you gotta listen out for the soften high pitch notes.

it's very clear at 0:29 though.

  • @Spratlin344 lol u gotta have a good ear. try to listen really closely ull hear the melody

  • I think that this is really awesome.

I figured it out in about 10 minutes and now i use the technique for my guttural growls in my goregrind band.

  • @skatterpro That's cool, man! I like how bands incorporate different techniques in rock.

  • @skatterpro got anything online? id LOVE to hear that my friend!!!

  • @fuckinrelax Check my channel, the Abominable Putridity cover, and my original song Cool Story Hermano both uses this technique to get a low and a high pitch at the same time. Check it out! ;)

  • @skatterpro An example video ? :)

  • @xtrasns Check out the Abominable Putridity cover

And also one of my own songs "Cool Story Hermano" on my profile. I use it in almost all of my vocals, but those two songs are perfect examples!

  • ich kann das auch

  • that is really good, one of the best I've seen.

  • This type of vocal mechanics CAN damage your nogils or Vocal chords

  • Wowwww never heard an american do the throat singing!! WELL DONE!! Wonders how long it took him to learn it.....hmmmm

  • @candiclawtooth It took me a while actually, practicing on and off for a couple of years. When I've taught people though, some of them got it in 10 minutes!

  • cool video dude!!!

    I like it!

  • You're like a human Bagpipe, which is good. It sounds awesome. You got skill.

  • skill.

  • what?what?WHAT??!! WHAT IS THIS??!!

  • That is definite skill right there

  • THAT WAS SOOOOO COOL.

  • oh ya. sounds just like it.

  • For those of you who cannot hear the melody, just focus on the high notes.

If you know what a harmonic on a guitar is and sounds like, then you'll recognize the sound you're looking for.

  • I wish I could give this two thumbs up.....

  • 111 people don't know what they are talking about, or didn't listen to this enough times. This is AMAZING, (no pun intended), stuff. Wow.

  • @tmillerku 800 people haven't heard more authentic tuvan throat singing. props to yuichituba for not writing tuvan in the title, and putting a "correction" annotation on the video. this is very westernised overtone singing which doesn't do anything for me, but i won't thumb it down because he wasn't misleading.

  • it took me like 5 tries to hear it lol

  • Comment removed

  • Sounds like a piccolo

  • So where the hell is Amazing Grace ? She must have stepped out to get a bite to eat.

  • So... overtone singing isn't that hard, but actually putting a piece together requires some effort. Very nice.

  • what the hell was that

  • @AaronJayCole I believe it was your mom making love to your dad. Enjoy! :)

  • :O

    How the hell?

  • Wow, this was indeed awesome. Great work man!

  • @Zanshi101 Thank you very much :)

  • @Zanshi101 OK Just very basic overtones. Doesn't blow my socks off. Try listening to David Hykes if you want AWESOME>

  • omg this is soo awesome!

  • Wow, please put on a tutorial on how to do this throat singing, it's amazing (grace).

  • @KarenGroningen Actually I did one. It should be listed on the right hand side of the video titled "Overtone singing tutorial". Thanks for watching.

  • I love you.

  • nice

  • OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG1!! this blew my mind!!

  • nice!!!!!

  • That was fucking awesome

  • When I watched this the first time, I caught it right at the end, then listened again, and i was amazed!! this is so cool!! thanks for posting this :)

  • very original presentation

    regards from Israel :)

  • wow, really cool! Sounds like a vocal bagpipe .)

  • hahaha thats weirddd. you can totally hear it tho. try whistling and humming at the same time it does somethin cool also

  • wtf is this

  • lol the overtone sounds like a piccolo or flute.

  • bravo!

  • the sound is actually really high pitched...if u have a trained ear u can hear it

  • wtf!?

  • haha. at first i was like: What kind os shit is this? he's just singing one tone and opens/closes his mouth.

then at the second listen it got to me :P

Great job man. that was cool!

  • @OndskapensHersker Hahaha, ya it takes a while, but when you catch it you can totally hear it. Thanks for watching, man.

  • @OndskapensHersker: Ditto, quite amazing, I'm guessing the majority of the 116 dislikers didn't get it either.

  • thank you ;;please check out my video;;lol

  • wow! very interesting

  • how does that overtone work? is it just the formant, the mouth movements?

  • @bootyqueenxo Your mouth inside and outside is basically cutting the note that you're singing. The note you sing or play is made up of many notes, and this overtone singing is bringing out some of those "tinier" notes.

  • That's pretty cool how our mind comprehends the sounds, then kind of making them separate sounds so you can single one out 0_O

  • That was flippin' awesome!

  • Very nice dude :P

  • i cant hear nothing srry.

  • Like Toast, I had no idea what was happening at first. Then I read his comment and tried again, hoping that it would work for me, too!

    It did.

    I'm in awe!

  • gay

  • Its throat singing and its Tuvan. Stop trying to claim things.

  • good its good try moore. i like it

  • Silly!

  • dude ur f**in savage!!Big Bang Theory Rules

  • Sick!

  • Wow.

  • cool, reminds me of bagpipes, they have a drone note and a melody played on top of it

  • That is just...... just.... just... friggin' AMAZING!

Yeah, took me a moment to realise that the melody was in the overtones and not the fundamental concert F you sang, but after listening a little harder, I heard the melody spot on!

    That was phenomenal.

  • @ToastmachineIdiot Hehe, thanks. Ya, once you know what to listen for you start catching onto it.

  • @ToastmachineIdiot thank you! I had to rewind and play it again, in order to detect and recognize the melody. And I did that only after reading your comment. You hit the spot. Thanks for posting your comment.

  • @ToastmachineIdiot geez... now to sell my bagpipe...

  • A human didgeridoo. Good On Ya Mate.

  • I can make the sound, but am struggling to even identify its pitch let alone control it. I can change it but not with control.

  • Wow. It took me a second to hear the overtone, but that was cool!

  • overtones are the kind of stuff I like to use and shift when programming in Fruity Loops and stuff. and I also noticed that playing on the lower or higher parts of a single guitar string produces a different overtone effect. but until now, I wasn't aware that there is a vocal technique that enhances just overtones in this kinda way.

  • wow

  • Wow! You've gotten a lot better since the last time I heard you try that.

  • @Biotrom Is this that certain trombone player that I know of that went to college with me?

  • sounded nothing like amazing grace

  • @miltoncladwell1

you have to listen to the higher vibration sounds....

  • How the hell do you do that?

  • @Doliath I have a video tutorial for it. It should be on the top right of this video. Hope it helps you with it.
