I can't believe that after all this Bertuzzi is still playing pro hockey and making millions...just disgusting. He should give half his year's paycheck to Moore but even that wouldn't be enough to undo what happened that day.
If you see as Moore is sliding under the pileup, there is no tension on his neck, bertuzzi punched him in the back of the head and then slammed his head into the ice. There is no sport where that is a clean hit, i bet half the UFC fighters are even disgusted at this

He got suspended for a year and payed a few million dollars for it. Has Bertuzzi done anything since that day? No! He has learned from his incident and will never repeat it.
if this hoe ass muthafucka just up n died i wouldnt lose a night of sleep over him :) fuck bertuzzi oh by the way i dont know how i ended up here but im not a hockey fan i just know a bitch ass nigga bwhen i see 1
The incident that killed on ice justice. Before this you could check the replay to see if it was a good hit and harbor grudges between games before getting the other player back if they did something dirty. Now you have to react right away (causing fights after every big hit) or else face a lengthy suspension.
I understand why people think this is wrong, I do too because it was wrong. But why are we all blaming this thing on Bertuzzi? Yes he is the one who started it but look at the time, about and 11 and a half minutes left. Bertuzzi wasn't the only one trying to nail Moore and if he didn't do it don't even try telling yourself another Canucks player wouldn't have because chances are if it wasn't Bertuzzi it would have been someone else.
@MrLizardKing96 ...because he did it. By your logic, let's not blame Hitler for the holocaust, because I'm sure there are plenty of other people who hate Jews too.
Uh, his own teamates piling on him caused him to lose his career. Sure bertuzzi landed the cheapshot, but its not a good fuckin idea to pile on somebody whos neck is on ground.
@duffy31311 Really? Take a cheapshot from behind and then see who is the bitch, you dumb redneck. People who make cheapshots like that are the biggest pussies ever...well, except for those that condone that behavior. (Sorry about the big words, I realize you may not understand them)
Well, moore had it coming. look at this video. even the announcers suggest he still has to pay up. also, bertuzzi's hit wasnt that bad. did you see moore's cheapshot on naslund? it was way worse. Moore should have gone to jail for assault on that. moore was just a typical canadian pussy.
@chriswestmoreland Don't bother with him, he's just a troll. Pathetic excuse for a human being who spends his days on the internet trying to provoke a reaction from people.
Todd just punched him. He could have broke his neck on his fall, he could have broken his neck when all the other players dog piled Bert and Moore. BUT this is not the only hard hit, this is not the last one. This could have happened to ANY NHL player. The only reason Bert has such a bad rap is because it was indeed a sucker punch... Its completely awful that Moore went through that... Its also awful that Bert went through it. Illegal hits should have appropriate consequences.
Whoa! Did you see that? That's fucking crazy shit! This is outrageous. I never want to see shit like this on the ice again. I mean... just look at that. A black guy playing hockey? This is crazy!
i can't stand that. Bertuzzi attacked to Moore beacuse Moore didin't wanna fight againts him in last match. Bertuzzi is fucker and player who soild reputation of ice-hockey. I never ever wanna see anything like that again...
@PMVAIRSOFT The punch was disgusting, but what broke Moore's neck was when all the players rushed on him right after. The incident itself is way more awful in Pacioretty's case. Bertuzzi tried to hit Moore : Chara tried to KILL Pacioretty.
@Capitales0 The Chara-Pacioretty incident was the result of a hockey play. Chara should have released Pacioretty instead of riding him, but that was a hockey play. This was thuggery...and by a letter-wearing player, no less.
@AEMoreira81 Are you shitting me? Pacioretty never touched the puck : Chara went for the kill the whole time the puck was dropped. Both incidents are similar, but Bertuzzi didn't hurt Moore : the players rushing after did. Chara could have killed Pacioretty. Make Pacio 15 years older and he would have died...
I am Red Wings fan and this is just stupid. Bertuzzi shouldve been suspended for good. Thats not what hockey is about. Ended a guys career is beyond being dirty.
@ sickman800 & As3sinoL0C0 totally understandable and I think Steve should have been dealt punishment but it was a weak nhl office at the time. now I am sure punishment would have been dealt. There are both sides and each side has their point. Steve was just as responsible as todd. Both were dirty plays. And he is now contributing to a great team. the wings deserve this huge run. dont mind the typing, because its just a comment board
This was in 2004 i can see whee your getting at but now he is on the Red Wings and is contributing alot for the team. He knows now what he did was wrong and i bet he wishes he hadnt done it. But to me i didnt know that Bertuzzi i see him now on the Wings contributing to the great team they are.
Haha fucking pathetic how people are defending this monster. Bertuzzi is such a shitty hockey player and ending someone else's career can be put on that shit rep sheet. The beautiful part if this is the canucks coach told him to do that. Fuck you anyone who will defend this pathetic and down rigjt satanic bullshit. Go fuck yourself.
This is disgusting and does not warrant this type of payback. This is a thug like act by Todd Bertuzzi and he is a punk and a thug himself. I will never forgive this man. You dont act childish when it play gets out of hand. If anything you drop the gloves like a man when the guy is ready to fight you. I am going to take everybody's opinion into perspective and respect you for what you think. I'm not here to bash anybody.with all due respect
@tomlingren Steve Moore was too much of a pussy to fight Todd, that's why he did it. You don't remember Moore taking out Naslund a few games before? It all started with Moore. Not saying that Burt's actions are justified but Moore is partially responsible for this too.
@tomlingren im not saying that what bert did was justifiable but steve moore was being a pussy and wouldnt fight after taking liberties to markus naslund but all in all wrong move from bert
@MrPurdy33 Nonsense. Not only had Moore already stood up to all the aggression sent his way by the Canucks, but he had already fought in THIS VERY GAME. Matt Cooke doesn't answer the bell, but Moore did. Classless act by Bertuzzi on so many levels.
@Mckewanman bertuzzi a great hockey player haha I laugh at your stupidity tell me what does Todd bertuzzi do other then give cheap shots and be a hack?? Does he have speed no.. Does he have a amazing hands no does he have a good shot no!!!! He is a average Hockey player that just good at fighting and breaking spines.... And I believe how big of a prick you are for saying he had a bad career so it doesn't matter that he broke his spine and is done playing hockey forever now even though he has wo
Bertuzzi is a cheap shot artist-this was a gutless move on a player (Moore) who was defenseless-at least have the balls to fight him clean regardless. Betuzzi has always been a cheap shot guy himself.
@deejay0077 Bertuzzi is still a great player and come on. What type of carrer did moore have. He would probably be retired anyways. Bertuzzi is not a cheap shot artist. It is Moores fault for trying to end Naslunds carrer and this wouldn't of happened if Moore accepted Bertuzzi's fight request.
Who cares Moore deserved this, no name pest. Meanwhile, here in the present, Bertuzzi's got some cups and has made for himself. Fuck Moore, die and eat shit.
@TheEnchantedTikiRoom Ouch. I'm a Canucks fan but I would never wish anything like that upon ANY hockey players. Don't hate Canucks fans just cause of some trolls out there : (
@dogbluerocky you asshole bertuzzzi should not be playing. I know Moore cheapshoted the last time but that doest mean Bertuzzi should come and break his neck
Claude Lemieux vs. Darren Mccarty. Mccarty whoooped his ass ten times worse with the sucker punch. I understand he fell on his face but prove he broke his neck because of the punch or the fall. He might of, but this guys not getting 38 million. No one likes to see anybody hurt bad, but some of you must of not of watched old time hockey when worse shit(cheap shots) happen to a lot more guys and didn't sue.
@psshson and @duffy31311 ... YOURE FUCKING IDIOTS. no where in the game of hockey is that necessary. I guess Lindros, Crosby and others are pussys too cuz they had head injuries right? No you fucking retards, Bertuzzi is the pussy for hitting someone from behind like that, man up and fight him face to face. Ignorance.
LOL @ so many of you asshats who seem to think its not just "unlikely" but "impossible" for his neck to be broken by his headfirst dive into the ice with his plus bertuzzi's bodyweight. 400 lbs accelerated from 6 feet by gravity generates a lot of force, and it all landed on his head. but nah, thats totally clearly not the genesis of his neck injury
exactly right, which is why moore got nothing. you cant prove bertuzzi alone caused any sort of neck injury. moore is, yet again, being a bitch in the first class.
@letterse7en1 Yeah he fought but obviously the Canucks weren't satisfied, sometimes one dirty play will get you 3 or 4 fights in a season. I see what you're sayin completely, but I just think he should've squared up no matter the circumstances. He and Bob Hartley can think whatever they want about the repercussions and whether they were satisfactory or not, it's ultimately not there decision ya know? I just think if someone's taking thereselves out of the play and grabbing you, square up
Yeah it sucks, yeah it's unfortunate, yeah it was a dirty play, but honestly you're a hockey player and you should turn around and square up. Quit running from the fight that you brought on yourself...
That being said, hitting him from behind wasn't the right move.
@skatboogie Easy to say if you only see this clip. Moore already paid his dues by fighting in the game. This game, nearly every Canuck was looking for revenge for a Moore's hit on Naslund in a previous game. So why didn't Naslund man-up and settle his own score with Moore instead of sending Matt Cooke, Brad May and Bertuzzi after him. Fact is, Moore would have had no issues fighting all game, but Bob Hartley told Moore not to fight anymore and that he had done enough.
This is why i dont like the NHL, sometimes it end careers, Steve Moore is now not able to enjoy a full NHL career till his 40s. I like finness russian style lots of skilled plays lots of skating and one of those goonish plays.
@okpapereat moore never had a career, and he was a 4th liner on the way out of the league so he tried to make a name for himself by sucker hitting naslund and two other stars. you do realize that moore sucker hit martin st louis and steve yzerman in the weeks before. you do realize that when you sucker hit a captain and then run from you payback fight, you are asking for a good hard hit like the one bert gave moore.
this makes me sick every time i watch it bertuzzi ended this guys career in an 8-2 hockey game because mark crawford wanted to send a message. crawford and bertuzzi are going to hell for this
Bertuzzi did this because Moore intentionally hit Naslund the game before this but there was no call even though Naslund was injured and had to leave the game. After that game, the NHL commission was so stupid to not take any action, making the conflict turn out this way. Fuck the officials
this incident was wonderful because it SHOULD have taught steve a lesson. you dont do that shit. if bertuzzi doesnt enforce code like this, moore could injure more captains. it was nice to see moore out of the game for good. safer league. he was a dirty garbage player, and those guys were the worst because any team can just send their worst players out to sucker hit stars and they dont lose anything.
For as bad as the hit was,if you watch the one view at 7:17 it almost appears that Bertuzzi was trying to protect Moore from further injury?? However I think Bertuzzi Should have been banned for life from the NHL!
Moore's hit wasn't all that dirty, Naslund put himself in a vulnerable position and Moore took advantage. As far as Bertuzzi goes, a sucker punch that ends Moore's career is a bitch move.....if he wanted to punch Moore so badly he could have atleast done it face to face, so Moore has a chance to defend himself
Bertuzzi is a prick. all about himself. have you read the crap that he said after he made that hit? He's scum, and the NHL should have never allowed him to play again. That was straight up attempted murder, plain and simple.
@senorcoonster One punch to the back of the head vs a knee in the face. Moore deserved a slap for what he did to Naslund. You're a moron for thinking this is attempted murder.
@senorcoonster Fuck u, moore is fine now and he got his 20 million for bertuzzi. u don't even know how much money moore asked for; and for what a headache and a few bruises.
@GBGOGA8 3 broken vertebrae and a concussion to be more precise. I know someone who suffered a similar injury (broken vertebrae) from a fall. It is no joke. It has been 15 years since the injury and the guy still has a stiff neck and can't look to his left or right without rotating his upper body,. Sad that you downplay something that ended a guy's career. Making the NHL no matter what skill is hard work and a guy who worked to get there has his career ended at 25 years old.
All these people saying this hit was the thing that injured him.. are you blind?! you can see that impact of him flying onti=op of him after him taking him the fuck out. you are blind. he did this all by himself, and it is awful that you are defending him.
All the morons who can somehow defend any part of this hit is disgusting. This is exactly the kind of thing that makes people sick to their stomachs. I get it, contact sports are dangerous and accidents happen. This, however, was no accident. Bertuzzi's intent, if not to kill Steve Moore, was to severely injure him. It's pathetic. I don't give a flying fuck what Moore did or didn't do prior to this. Bertuzzi should have been kicked out of the league and given a minimum 3 years behind bars.
I did not grow up watching ice hockey but I think it is one of the greatest sport there is in terms of speed, skill, strength, stamina, etc. However, this habit of players dropping their gloves and fighting in the middle of the rink, while entertaining for boxing/MMA fans, does not add to the quality of the game for me. I think this hit on Moore is a prime example of what is wrong with the sport. In this case a life time ban would have been the right punishment. This was a deliberate hunt.
This is all what the Canucks will be remembered for. 0 cups and shitload of cheapskates who dive, bites peoples fingers off and hit players from behind...not to mention a fanbase itching to riot every second. What a sorry excuse of an organization - it's embarrassing having them in Canada, they should move the entire city to Oakland, they'd fit right in.
Crawford was the coach for this disgrace and also when Claude Lemieux put Chris Drapers face into the boards. The 2 biggest cheap shots in the NHL were under the supervision of the same coach. I question his coaching ethics.
The punch itself, while dirty, did NOT break his neck. It was all the players who jumped on top of him afterwards. And its not like Moore is innocent either, he did try to end Naslund's career the last time the two teams met.
@Justachecking4545 Lol end his career, hardly. Naslund tried to duck his head to avoid the hit and Moore ended up hitting him with his elbow trying to finish the check. Moore even apologized and said it wasn't intentional after the game. It was a classless act, if Bertuzzi really thought it was dirty why would he think stooping down to that level is the right thing to do. Drop the gloves and say you want to fight him like a man. Bertuzzi is a piece of shit.
@Justachecking4545 tried to end his career? spoken like a true vancouver fan. I've seen the play that caused this whole stir. Naslund had his head down, which you never do in open ice, moore caught him late. Hardly the same thing has sucker punching a guy in the back of the head after he had already fought multiple times in that game and more than paid his dues. I doubt Todd wanted it to go down like this, but your comments make it sound like Moore deserved punshiment of this severity. sad
@letterse7en1 First of all I am a Wings fan, and am simply calling it like I see it. I saw the play too, and what had happened was that Naslund was off balance after hitting a rough patch in the ice and had lost the puck. Moore does not make a play for the puck, he was clearly head-hunting, extended both his knee and elbow into Naslund's head. I don't think he deserved what happened, but what he should have thought that through and just make a play on the puck.
@Justachecking4545 Thought it through? okay. Naslund had control of the puck, moore was already going after him full speed. Naslund slips and Moore follows through. You need to watch the play again. Moore does not extend his knee. He pulls it away from naslund. Moore drives his shoulder as Naslund's head dips low ( as he slips) Moore's elbow arrives at the same time Naslund's head dips. Moore was trying to hit him hard...but saying that he tried to end his career is a big exaggeration.
@Justachecking4545 it was taken too far. it was a thing of the past at that point. he fought cooke in the first period and was chased around all game. it was taken too far
I dont't think he tried to end Naslund's career or even hurt him for that matter. Naslund just happened to go down low right before he got hit and caught an elbow. Moore payed his dues and fought earlier on in the game, but what Bertuzzi did was just plain criminal. How is this any different from the Marty McSorley incident? In my opinion this one is way worse...
@ilukme He definitely was head-hunting. Look at the film closely. The puck is over a dozen feet away from Naslund by the time Moore hits him, not to mention the fact that Naslund had lost an edge and was just trying to regain his balance. Moore charged into him and went elbow to head and knee on knee, the two most surefire hits to end someone's career. The difference here is that McSorley clearly was trying to kill Brashear, while Bert was trying to avenge his good friend Naslund.
@ihatepavelbure The combined weight of four pro-NHLers all clustered in his head/neck region would have to be a minimum of 720 pounds and was probably well north of a half ton with equipment. Bertuzzi knocked Moore out, he definitely deserved a 25 game suspension if not more.
@Justachecking4545 First of all, weight is distributed and most of it may not have been distributed onto Moore, and more importantly, if his neck was already broken by the time anyone landed on him, it doesn't matter how much weight the players weighed.
EXACTLY! Thank you! It's astonishing how many people think the dogpile is what hurt Moore's neck (which is a moot point anyway, his neck is fine now- the concussion is what still lingers). How is a bunch of people jumping on Moore's back and legs going to do anything to his neck unless it was already broken? I've been in a few dogpiles in my day- nobody broke ANYTHING lmao- least of all their necks. Morons just trying to deflect Bertuzzi's obvious culpability.
wow. its amazing how stupid you are. get off moore's cock. you have no proof of the neck being broken before landing. obviously if you could prove it, moore would have some money from bertuzzi. moore got nothing and he will like that.
@duffy31311 Did you mean to respond to me? Your comment seems disproportionately hostile. I never suggested I could prove anything about when the player's neck was broken, and in fact, none of us being able to do so was my point all along. I'm also not sure why you would ask that I "get off Moore's cock" as I've said nothing about him either positive or negative. Ergo I presume you either meant to respond to someone else or you are off some important psychiatric medication that you should be on.
You assumed moore's neck was busted upon impact. are you a forensic scientist? obviously nobody can prove that, since moore never got a dime from the incident.
@duffy31311 "You assumed moore's neck was busted upon impact" <---I did? When exactly did I assume that? Please quote any comment I made making such an assumption, as I believe what I actually did was state that we cannot know when his neck was broken.
about 20 posts below this you said "First of all, weight is distributed and most of it may not have been distributed onto Moore, and more importantly, if his neck was already broken by the time anyone landed on him, it doesn't matter how much weight the players weighed.""
what did you mean by that then? you clearly imply that his neck was already broken and that the pile did nothing to create the break.
@fassw88 Did I ever disagree? And I wouldn't say that everything was a result of Bertuzzi's actions. Moore's hit on Naslund was really bad, and would have been a 10-15 game suspension in the current NHL.
The punch may not have been so bad, the fact that Bertuzzi fell down on top of Moore and then people dove on top of him could have put some pressure on Moore's neck.
Burtuzzi, you're garbage. The city of Vancouver? Well we know what happened after you lost to Boston. Pull yourself together. You make the sport look bad. Naslund was out for what, 2 weeks. Moore's career was ended by this piece of shit. But we still have Moore cups than you. Get it? How's it going boys?!
Bertuzzi was my favorite hockey player but after this i lost all respect for him n then moved on to iginla but everyone jumping on bertuzzie n moore is was made it worse all that added weight
Yes, it was a cheap shot, but Bertuzzi showed great remorse after this. It was a lethal combination of anger and adrenaline. He was quoted as saying "I am so so sorry, I wish that night never happened" Where's the forgiveness? He served his time. Let him be.
@hoknut he served his time? his back in the NHL that man should have been thrown out? he is the biggest pussy ever, him and pronger are the biggest pieces of shit in the NHL
@duffy31311 Bitch will you stfu since when is sucker punching someone from behind a clean hit? That's being a pussy. Moore fought earlier that game yu fuckface. Now what do you have against Steeve Moore? Bertuzzi ends his career and Moore is paralyzed and Moores the bad guy that makes alot of sense
@TheSlapCA Moore hit Naslund, Bertuzzi retaliated. I don't think he was intending to drive his head into the ice like that, and the pile on didn't help.
@TheSlapCA Moore is not paralyzed you fuck, he is fine now and is skating. He was even offered a contract from the Ducks, now he is just a money-grabbing bitch-he sued bert for 19.5 mill and his parents also sued seperately for some bullshit reason. SO STFU
@Redwingsaretite just bcaue he didnt murder him doesnt mean it wasnt attempted. he intentionaly caued harm and sevrely injured him. because of the injury attempted murder can be trie against him in court.
I dont think it is right what happened but who is to say that all of moores team mates jumping on them that didnt do it? It was an accident! There are rapist and murders on the street and you want to call him scum. Bertuzzi cried and felt terrible he does not deserve the trash talk he gets for this thats how hockey goes you fuck with there captain your gonna get roughed up it, injuries are a risk they now they are taking i feel very bad for moore but i feel bad for all the shit bertuzzi gets
I'm a wings fan but that's not the reason why I love him. He's a great tough player who just made a big mistake. Even when this happened I thought he was stupid as fuck but he was a great player.
@cosmokaschak did you see bert's press conference after the incident? Try and call him gutless after that you ignorant bastard. And he is not a dirty player. He was a scrapper who could score. By no means a dirty player. Let go of the past for fuck sake
People who hate bertuzzi quit whining I mean yea it was a stupid ass thing to do but he's not a dirty player he regrets the hell out of this. It happened along time ago he's a great player just made one stupid ass mistake. Get over it.
@danglesnipecelly13 Really? Pulling a guy into a blind punch to the back of the head and then driving him into the ice isn't dirty? Are you fucking stupid? And he is a dirty player and a cheap player as well. Pull your fucking head out of your ass, no one is stupid enough to think he isn't dirty.
i don't feel bad for steve moore, sure todd seriously injured him but he sincerely apologized and has definitely regained his respect back in the league by being a class player
@jboidaman99 So just because you think Bertuzzi has paid his dues for this punch (which I could argue otherwise), you don't feel bad for a man who was blind-sided with a sucker punch that resulted in three broken vertebrae and a concussion?
bertuzzi's hit was clean. steve moore has to live with that. that he ended naslund's career. I like your point. it is disgusting. to just assault someone for no reason and then go on with your life. its not like moore had a reason to even do it, other than tryin to make a name for himself.
@duffy31311 Clean? did u really just say that was clean. so ur saying grabbing the back of someone's jersey, sucker punching him, then driving his head into the ground is clean? ur so stupid
I can't believe that after all this Bertuzzi is still playing pro hockey and making millions...just disgusting. He should give half his year's paycheck to Moore but even that wouldn't be enough to undo what happened that day.

@PMVAIRSOFT The punch was disgusting, but what broke Moore's neck was when all the players rushed on him right after. The incident itself is way more awful in Pacioretty's case. Bertuzzi tried to hit Moore : Chara tried to KILL Pacioretty.
Capitales0 1 week ago
@Capitales0 The Chara-Pacioretty incident was the result of a hockey play. Chara should have released Pacioretty instead of riding him, but that was a hockey play. This was thuggery...and by a letter-wearing player, no less.
AEMoreira81 6 days ago
@AEMoreira81 Are you shitting me? Pacioretty never touched the puck : Chara went for the kill the whole time the puck was dropped. Both incidents are similar, but Bertuzzi didn't hurt Moore : the players rushing after did. Chara could have killed Pacioretty. Make Pacio 15 years older and he would have died...

I just think if someone's taking thereselves out of the play and grabbing you, square up
skatboogie 2 weeks ago
Yeah it sucks, yeah it's unfortunate, yeah it was a dirty play, but honestly you're a hockey player and you should turn around and square up. Quit running from the fight that you brought on yourself...
That being said, hitting him from behind wasn't the right move.
skatboogie 2 weeks ago
@skatboogie Easy to say if you only see this clip. Moore already paid his dues by fighting in the game. This game, nearly every Canuck was looking for revenge for a Moore's hit on Naslund in a previous game. So why didn't Naslund man-up and settle his own score with Moore instead of sending Matt Cooke, Brad May and Bertuzzi after him. Fact is, Moore would have had no issues fighting all game, but Bob Hartley told Moore not to fight anymore and that he had done enough.
letterse7en1 2 weeks ago

It has been 15 years since the injury and the guy still has a stiff neck and can't look to his left or right without rotating his upper body,. Sad that you downplay something that ended a guy's career. Making the NHL no matter what skill is hard work and a guy who worked to get there has his career ended at 25 years old.
letterse7en1 2 weeks ago
All these people saying this hit was the thing that injured him.. are you blind?! you can see that impact of him flying onti=op of him after him taking him the fuck out. you are blind. he did this all by himself, and it is awful that you are defending him.
BobbenaJenna 4 weeks ago

The punch itself, while dirty, did NOT break his neck. It was all the players who jumped on top of him afterwards. And its not like Moore is innocent either, he did try to end Naslund's career the last time the two teams met.
Justachecking4545 1 month ago 14
@Justachecking4545 Lol end his career, hardly. Naslund tried to duck his head to avoid the hit and Moore ended up hitting him with his elbow trying to finish the check. Moore even apologized and said it wasn't intentional after the game. It was a classless act, if Bertuzzi really thought it was dirty why would he think stooping down to that level is the right thing to do. Drop the gloves and say you want to fight him like a man. Bertuzzi is a piece of shit.
NeoOsiris19 1 month ago
@Justachecking4545 Thank you. I've been saying this exact thing for years.
ComradeOblivious 4 weeks ago
@Justachecking4545 tried to end his career? spoken like a true vancouver fan. I've seen the play that caused this whole stir. Naslund had his head down, which you never do in open ice, moore caught him late. Hardly the same thing has sucker punching a guy in the back of the head after he had already fought multiple times in that game and more than paid his dues. I doubt Todd wanted it to go down like this, but your comments make it sound like Moore deserved punshiment of this severity. sad
letterse7en1 3 weeks ago
@letterse7en1 First of all I am a Wings fan, and am simply calling it like I see it. I saw the play too, and what had happened was that Naslund was off balance after hitting a rough patch in the ice and had lost the puck. Moore does not make a play for the puck, he was clearly head-hunting, extended both his knee and elbow into Naslund's head. I don't think he deserved what happened, but what he should have thought that through and just make a play on the puck.
Justachecking4545 3 weeks ago
@Justachecking4545 Thought it through? okay. Naslund had control of the puck, moore was already going after him full speed. Naslund slips and Moore follows through. You need to watch the play again. Moore does not extend his knee. He pulls it away from naslund. Moore drives his shoulder as Naslund's head dips low ( as he slips) Moore's elbow arrives at the same time Naslund's head dips. Moore was trying to hit him hard...but saying that he tried to end his career is a big exaggeration.
letterse7en1 2 weeks ago

GuitarGuru1125 3 weeks ago
@Justachecking4545
In my opinion this one is way worse...
ilukme 3 weeks ago
@ilukme He definitely was head-hunting. Look at the film closely. The puck is over a dozen feet away from Naslund by the time Moore hits him, not to mention the fact that Naslund had lost an edge and was just trying to regain his balance. Moore charged into him and went elbow to head and knee on knee, the two most surefire hits to end someone's career. The difference here is that McSorley clearly was trying to kill Brashear, while Bert was trying to avenge his good friend Naslund.

duffy31311 3 weeks ago
@ihatepavelbure The combined weight of four pro-NHLers all clustered in his head/neck region would have to be a minimum of 720 pounds and was probably well north of a half ton with equipment. Bertuzzi knocked Moore out, he definitely deserved a 25 game suspension if not more.
Justachecking4545 2 weeks ago
@Justachecking4545 First of all, weight is distributed and most of it may not have been distributed onto Moore, and more importantly, if his neck was already broken by the time anyone landed on him, it doesn't matter how much weight the players weighed.
ihatepavelbure 2 weeks ago
@ihatepavelbure
EXACTLY!
GrassValleyGreg 2 weeks ago
@ihatepavelbure
wow. its amazing how stupid you are. get off moore's cock. you have no proof of the neck being broken before landing. obviously if you could prove it, moore would have some money from bertuzzi. moore got nothing and he will like that.
duffy31311 2 weeks ago
@duffy31311 Did you mean to respond to me? Your comment seems disproportionately hostile. I never suggested I could prove anything about when the player's neck was broken, and in fact, none of us being able to do so was my point all along. I'm also not sure why you would ask that I "get off Moore's cock" as I've said nothing about him either positive or negative. Ergo I presume you either meant to respond to someone else or you are off some important psychiatric medication that you should be on.

bertuzzi's hit was clean. steve moore has to live with that. that he ended naslund's career. I like your point. it is disgusting. to just assault someone for no reason and then go on with your life. its not like moore had a reason to even do it, other than tryin to make a name for himself.
