I enjoy this game far more than Arma 2, because it's not so ridiculously complex. It's much simpler, maybe not as realistic, but it still gives you the tactical gameplay you would like in a military sim. It's far better in my opinion because of this, instead of pressing key after key to do things, you just can open up the command radial and quickly and easily select what you want to do.

When Assaulting a compound have have you squad flank right on man who has a heavy MG flank left, have the rifleman or scout supress the center. I don't see how you didn't find this strategic. And yes there are boundaries for missions but there 6 klicks out the main objectives, Codemasters gave the game plenty of room to excite a well devised plan. P.S. I would recommend ArmAII over this but OFDR is also for consoles.

i ACTUALLY OWN the game and i can officially say that the game is about 95% similar to what is show here. The only difference is the graphics aren't quite as good (although still very good when maxxed out), and the combat isn't as fast paced... That's honestly about it.
Just to all those people who said this game is terrible you can all go stick your ass up your ass. This game requires you to think in a more strategical fashion. And yes you have to execute mission your way which is a bummer for all you CoD fanboys who are used to just doing whatever the game tells you to do. This game involves realtime warfare, ballistics, gravity (drop), and an incredible command system. This game may not be some peoples cup o' tea but it is certainly not bad game. Especially

I also have (just got) Tracker IR 5 pro in the mail 24 hours ago and from what i understand it works with this game so that could help a bit and you never know a patch could come out to fix some of them bugs ? Also i been gaming online for over 15 years and i started playing games like this back in the late 90's , all the new games are way nicer no matter how bad they are. But thanks for the tip.
@Mr351Nova no prob, and so far codemasters never made a patch for the game, everything is still the same, mainly because their working on the operation flashpoint red river, which is probably not going to be good either.

codemasters did an extremely bad job on basically everything and the result isnt realistic, at all. also they did not do anything they said they would do with it. like they said theres free roam, which there isnt you go off a little in a mission and it says "return to the battlefield, soldier"...

Including complety unrealistic bullet and vehicle physics (bullet drop around 50m and being able to almost flip a Humvee by making a turn). A bullet drop from a .308 Calibre round, depending on wind would not drop even after 200 yards.

@MrVladdavid true, Arma 2 is pretty poorly optimized, but the excessively trees mixed with the large forests of the main map are a pretty deadly combo as well, i found that when i played the expansion pack "Operation Arrowhead", which takes place in an area based off of Afghanistan, my performance was increased significantly

bullshit this game aint tactical or strategical it ruined the name of Operation Flashpoint
codemasters did an extremely bad job on basically everything and the result isnt realistic, at all. also they did not do anything they said they would do with it. like they said theres free roam, which there isnt you go off a little in a mission and it says "return to the battlefield, soldier"...

@MadDogProductions141 honestly i just love engaging from as far away possible upon the enemy with some hardcore marine suppresive fire constant bullet pound on some bunker or hill or alley along side if we gotta get nasty and combat effectivly raid bomb assault and cqb those tree end and concrete wall busting engagements

@MadDogProductions141 People hate this game because of dodgy AI (enemy and team). Including complety unrealistic bullet and vehicle physics (bullet drop around 50m and being able to almost flip a Humvee by making a turn). A bullet drop from a .308 Calibre round, depending on wind would not drop even after 200 yards.

@MrVladdavid true, Arma 2 is pretty poorly optimized, but the excessively trees mixed with the large forests of the main map are a pretty deadly combo as well, i found that when i played the expansion pack "Operation Arrowhead", which takes place in an area based off of Afghanistan, my performance was increased significantly

Я думаю если бы за этот проект взялась бы sony entertiment, которая бы залецензировала права эксклюзивности для создания этой игры на PS3 мы безусловно увидели бы нечто набодобие этого, а % на 90 что и лучше! А поскольку эта игра как и тысячи других создаются впервую очередь для ёбаного икс-ящика мы и получаем подобного рода ахинею ввиде дибильных портов, да к тому же на древнем как говно мамонта движке, оно и понятно, Хуящик больше и не потянет. Предлагаю всем обладателям Бокса "АП СТЕНКУ" !!!!
