Dr. Tiller aka "Dr. Tiller the baby killer" was murdered at church. It saddens me. Dr. Tiller only terminated 3rd trimester pregnancies that would have resulted in a death during or directly after the birth. These children would not have sustained life and may have led very short, miserable lives had Dr. Tiller not dont the dirty work nobody else would touch. People make him out to be a monster but they need to get the facts.

What is with all these posts that seem to say "Pro-Lifers think this, this, and this?" We are a diverse group who often disagree with EACH OTHER about exactly why we believe abortion is wrong and/or what to do about it. I know that not everyone who supports abortion rights does it for the same exact reason and/or has the same exact feelings about it either of course, so well, I hope that people on both sides of the issue can keep this in mind.

If a women feels she can't properly look after a child then it would be morally wrong to keep it. We do not need more kids being raised by drug addicts, chronic welfare users or 16 year old kids. It is morally wrong to raise a child in those environments. A fetus is not self a aware and its brain is not fully developed there is nothing morally wrong with aborting it.

Not only Christians are pro-life. I am an Atheist, but I am moderatly pro-life. In most cases (not all) abortion is not necessary. There are extreme cases (rape, incest, life or death situations, ect), but that's different. I do not see the fetus as a human life, but it is a living thing. Also, I just don't like the idea of getting a mdical procedure that isn't 100% necessary. Plus, I was adopted as a child. I think I just have a different perspective because of that.

I followed that link and first it turned out to be flawed (404 not found). But it left enough traces to see what kind of site is behind it. Google trisomy 22 images to find out what her deformed baby would look like, and just imagine the pain a newborn feels in this condition, or a Harlequin baby or ancephaloid. There is no "looking into her eyes" when she has no eyes. There are no "handprints" and "footprints" when she has only stubs and claws. This is the reality of fetal development: far from all conceptions result in a functioning human being. She had a bad experience because of trisomy 22, not because a doctor tried to help.

I actually did look into trisomy 22 before I made this video. It seems that many natural abortions early in a pregnancy are because of trisomy 22. Who ever counseled this woman, and there is very little of that with abortion, really did her an mis-service. She went from the trauma of finding out that her baby was deformed and wouldn't live, to in this state doubling that trauma with this hellish abortion and guilt of killing her child.

We put animals out of their misery because we are compassionate, but paradoxically, that doesn't extend to fatally deformed human infants because of the arrogant idea that human life is somehow sacred. I don;t know if you have ever had to consider abortion, but I have been into a situation where I considered just that, as well as keeping the baby or adopting. There was a significant amount of counseling available for each scenario, and many questions were answered by professionals which was very helpful in making my decision.

Maybe she didn't have ample time to consider her options, which is why she had no idea what to expect. She said people need to know what happens, most people find out.

Yes, this story is horrible. If the story is true, it shows bad practise. It doesn't make any argument against late term abortions as such. I know the stories of a lot of women who needed one. Luckily, where I live, the procedure is better (now, it wasn't the case even 10 years ago), women are treated with more respect and more privacy.

Show me the medical advantages that make it save for the mothers in case one to survive and able for the child in the second case. The better procedures I menitioned don't concern the medical procedure but the psychological care for the woman and a dignified treatment adequate for the situation is in.

Several problems with this story that make it sound either gravely exaggerated or the person writing it had no clue what they were talking about. A doctor in Canada can't fill a perscription for one, so why would she ask him to? A pharmacist does that. Secondly, to my knowledge it's extremely rare that Canadian health coverage would cover an elective procedure in the states. If it is true, it's a shame and beyond terrible, but it sounds like a lie.

I think that any poor woman that has gone through something like this, is most likely suffering from Post Traumatic Stress disorder now. The baby was going to suffer all it's short life and then die anyway. Instead it was swiftly and mercifully aborted to protect it from the full extent of that horror. These doctors are simply exercising empathy, but through euthanasia, like when you put away a suffering pet purely out of love. Ironically, your "good Christian will" in this case is purely an endorsement of what essentially amounts to child torture by forcing the suffering to live forever in pain. BTW, I have a pet that I was going to euthanize because she was very sick and dying, but I couldn't do it. So I prayed, I thanked God for her and asked for a miracle, to my surprise she got better. If you kill something, you leave no room for a miracle to happen.

Besides, it's a voluntary thing. Anyone getting an abortion should understand the potential for risk. So really, that's irrelevant.

To recap, you're repeatedly conflating cellular human life with personhood by suggesting that examples of the former should automatically have the same rights as the latter. Remember that we do not grant rights to many kinds of human, living cells (skin sperm egg etc), so its far from as clear cut as you suggest. It's not at all clear why a fresh zygote should be considered a person while a skin cell isn't.
