Well, you're right that dinosaurs didn't live billions of years ago -- more like 100 million -- there's a big ballpark in there, but that figure is close to the middle. And yes the earth did spin faster in the past: it took about 14 hours to rotate when it first formed and maybe 22 when the dinosaurs were around. And even if the earth were spinning at 5000 mph (esc. vel.: 22,000mph), the dinosaurs would have grown up already having that momentum, so how the hell could they fly off?

There is already proof that the tides used to be much higher. The moon is moving away at a rate of around 4cm a year. after 4.5 billion years, thats a little over 100,000 miles (I think, you can check the math) and right now the moon is over 200,000 miles away. Since the moon came from a collision with earth, it stands to reason it was closer at one point. You should check your numbers before you just randomly make claims with no evidence.

Day (one rotation of Earth around its axis) is not exactly 24 hours long but very slightly longer and over time this tiny difference accumulates into bigger one so we have to correct it by adding leap second.

Day lenghtens by 17millionths of a second every year (not a thousandth of a second every day); 17microseconds*220million years=3740seconds; that means 23h day in the time of dinosaurs.

You are correct that the Moon is tidally locked to Earth, therefore, it shows the Earth just one side, BUT(!!!) for this to happen IT HAS TO spin around it's axis with the same period as it spins around the Earth!!! So I did a little checking. The earth has slowed about 2milliseconds since 1820. That means the earth slows by about 1.46 hours every billion years if we assume a linear relationship. That means the earth would be rotating with a period of 17hours. Of course the moon didn't exist at the time so it's not really correct. But a 17 hour day is completely plausible. When the dinosaurs went extinct a day was 6 minutes shorter. When dinosaurs 1st appeared in the fossil record a day was 23.6hrs

First of all, the earth doesnt slow down at the same rate. Early on, the rate of decreased acceleration was not where it is now. Earth loses kinetic energy over time, and the rate of decrease, increases. and heres an example of how you cant just look at the ay something is today, and calculate back to get crazy results.... lets say, i spin a top. after lets say 20 seconds, it slows to 200rpm, then slower and then stops. well, we can say that after the first 10 seconds, it was going 400rpm. but we cant say that 10 seconds prior to that it mustve been going at 800 rpm. no! because it wasnt! do u see ur logical flaws, hun?

your truly clueless, arent you, hun. the moon didnt ALWAYS exist with earth. the moon began as giant ring of dust/rocks, like saturns rings, then over time (starting somewhere around 900 illion yrs ago, it slowly started to coalesce into what we have now. this is an observable fact (jupiter...). also, when it was just rings, they would still have controlled to tides similar to now, because there mass didnt change, just the form........

Well, you're right that dinosaurs didn't live billions of years ago -- more like 100 million -- there's a big ballpark in there, but that figure is close to the middle. And yes the earth did spin faster in the past: it took about 14 hours to rotate when it first formed and maybe 22 when the dinosaurs were around. And even if the earth were spinning at 5000 mph (esc. vel.: 22,000mph), the dinosaurs would have grown up already having that momentum, so how the hell could they fly off?

There is already proof that the tides used to be much higher. The moon is moving away at a rate of around 4cm a year. after 4.5 billion years, thats a little over 100,000 miles (I think, you can check the math) and right now the moon is over 200,000 miles away. Since the moon came from a collision with earth, it stands to reason it was closer at one point. You should check your numbers before you just randomly make claims with no evidence.

Other people have already commented the nonsense in this video, I would just add that we add leap seconds to clock not because Earth is slowing down fast but because our timekeeping is out of sync with astronomical time. Day (one rotation of Earth around its axis) is not exactly 24 hours long but very slightly longer and over time this tiny difference accumulates into bigger one so we have to correct it by adding leap second.

Or for dinosaurs: they first appeared around 220million years ago, Moon was then 2% closer than now.

The only number he had up that was actually right was the 4.5 billion year age of the planet. Any scientist would just laugh if they had these numbers and ideas presented to them. :)

1: The moon is not spinning, it is close enough to the earth for the gravitational effect of the two objects to cause the moon to be tidally locked. Look up, the same side of the moon is always facing earth. What you mean is that the moon is orbiting the earth.

@adell376, one correction - the Moon is spinning around it's axis!!!
You are correct that the Moon is tidally locked to Earth, therefore, it shows the Earth just one side, BUT(!!!) for this to happen IT HAS TO spin around it's axis with the same period as it spins around the Earth!!! If it didn't, as it moved around the Earth it would show opposite sides at opposite points of it's orbit.
Just wanted to get this point clear.

there is still debate as to how exactly the moon came to be - whether it's essentially a chunk of earth ejected from the planet as a result of some high momentous cosmic collision, or it coalesced at the same time as the earth. But on to point 2: It was not, but even if the moon was "touching" the earth 1.2 billion years ago, that doesn't rule out all the dinosaurs for the past hundred of millions of years. Onto point 3: Just because the earth is spinning and decreasing speed in it's revolutions now doesn't mean that it would be ever increasing if you theoretically rewound time. It's very possible that the earth was spinning faster in the past, but imagine you spin a top, it slows and slows and slows until it topples over.

If you record it and watch the tape backwards you will see the top increase in speed, but to a finite point, it won't infinitely increase. And just an extra bit of knowledge, the moon plays a drastic effect on the rate at which the earth revolves. And no evolutionists ever claimed that dinosaurs flew off the earth because of the rate at which it was revolving.

Dinosaurs first arise in the fossil record ~230 million years ago or less than a quarter of a billion years ago. Hence they didn't live "billions" of years ago. QED.

So I did a little checking. The earth has slowed about 2milliseconds since 1820. That means the earth slows by about 1.46 hours every billion years if we assume a linear relationship. That means the earth would be rotating with a period of 17hours. Of course the moon didn't exist at the time so it's not really correct. But a 17 hour day is completely plausible. When the dinosaurs went extinct a day was 6 minutes shorter. When dinosaurs 1st appeared in the fossil record a day was 23.6hrs

First of all, the earth doesnt slow down at the same rate. Early on, the rate of decreased acceleration was not where it is now. Earth loses kinetic energy over time, and the rate of decrease, increases. The math behind the rotation of earth is actually pretty complicated, it depends if your comparing it with mean solar time, or in relation to the stars ect... and events like the indian ocean earthquake can speed it up by a few microseconds. The MOON DOESNT Spin! It orbits the earth. The same way a TV Satalite orbits the earth always facing it.....have you ever seen the dark side of the moon? Only Astronauts who have orbited the moon have because it always faces away from the planet. We're not loosing the moon anytime soon. And as for the Earth thing Well... the planet Wobles a bit so it speeds up and slows down on its access and has for billions of years. the data to support this us undisputable. Do some research.
