Hi Justin, I'm new to protools. I was wondering if you could explain how I can get rid of the main vocals track (or sound) when I send it to an aux, I'm trying to send my vocals through a voice effect (vocoder) which is in an instrument track. if i have the vocoder plugin in the my vocals alone it works but i cant trigger it with my midi keyboard , so I've put it in an instrument track and send the vocals to it, now it does what I want and I can play using midi, but still hear untouched vocals
@giotronic Hello Gio all you have to do is click on whatever input/output you want to change on whatever track you are working with and a little drop down menu will pop out giving you the option to change the inputs/outputs to whatever options you have on your interface. Certain plug ins have multi outputs that you can route to the inputs of tracks to seperate them for further processing/mixing.
Sorry, I am newbie. When creating a single track, it automatically creates one in the mix window. My question is, that you have to assign that first created track to Bus 1-2 for stereo, Bus 1 for mono in the mix window to receive it?
Then after a few tracks, you add an aux track to recieve plug-ins effects like this video right?
Another question Justin! Is it best to add reverb, compression, etc in the edit phase before mix down or do it all at mix down?
Is there or can u make a video pertaining to assiging just one track and its bus input and output, then assigning an aux track for reverb for a stereo intrstrument track for a beginner like myself. Please!
@flybossni66a6 Well this all depends on your workflow and whats comfortable for you. If you are using different types/presets/effects of auto tune then you should use different auxes. Also if you want to blend the "dry" signal the uneffected signal with the auto tuned signal then use the aux. I would just put it on the track your effecting itself if you do not want to hear the dry or uneffected signal.
i was wondering if u can make one for people like me with add!i would apreciate it alor.for pc pro tools 7.3.1.is pro tools 8 better than mines?i would like to add more effeccts to my vocals and it crashes all da time.can u make a tutorial using only an instrumenta l,4 vocals so i can record in busis.thank you.

Justin to reiterate my question in a simple manner!
How do you assign the inputs and outputs in the mix window?
Thank you once again!

@giotronic Not exactly sure what you are asking. This video should answer your question. Just repeat the steps for whatever track you are working on.
Can you explain a little more indepth on what exactly you want to do
