when you find out the history of Institutional you have to truly see and say that that choir is truly an anointed gift from God for the people of God Imean they got that call of singing and writing directly from God thats amazing when u think about it
YOU ARE RIGHT PASTOR85. MY COUSIN, NOW BISHOP JEFFERY WHITE WAS THE BASS PLAYER IN THIS CHOIR. AND THERE'S SOME MORE HISTORY....... sharonsrose1@yahoo.com
See...this is why I'm an IRC fan. Everybody thinks these NY artists originated most of the material, but IRC did just about EVERYTHING first. LOL. I gotta visit this place at least once...thats a goal of mine if I ever make it to NY again.
do you have, "one more day album" with, "keys to the kingdom" n "God is just a little prayer away" Please post all the songs if you can my mother used to listen to that album all the time it would be such a blessing!!! hope to hear from you soon God Bless!!!
This is the orginal album version of "Newborn Soul" by Butch A. Haywood. God bless brother Marc Reddick but his recording is all over the place and misses the main elements of the song and it's message. Now if anybody can post a copy of Institutional's Radio song what would be a testiment of Gospel music in New York on a Sunday Night. Peace.
Man I remember this song from way back. I told the folks when Hez recorded it, I remembered it. We use to do this back in the day. I think I still have this CD too.
OMG, My mom said the same thing...When she was young, her church choir(Pilgrim Rest D.O.C Church in Berlin New Jersey) used to sing a lot of institutional's songs.
This is cool. Waiting for someone to post the Hezekiah Walker version

Just because he died for me, shed his precious blood at calvary,
I'm a newborn soul, I'm a newborn soul
Today I'm free, right now I'm free
When he died, he gave up the ghost,
Because of him today I can boast,
I'm a newborn soul, I'm a newborn soul
Today I'm free, right now I'm free
I'm free, I'm free, I'm a newborn soul

I stand corrected... I think on Hezekiah Walker's remake, it sounds like they are saying "shed his precious blood at calvary

No problem. That's what we do. We are musicians :-)
