What an amazing performance by Frankie and his Seasons. It touched me deep inside and I think Mr. Weiss the skater also "felt it" because he seemed posessed by the haunting sounds of "Beggin'" Unforgettable!
Oh yes, I agree, fantastic spectacle! They all blend together, it makes it really captivating. Perfect vocals and choreography of the "4 seasons" I was impressed as well, and of course our ice skater!!!
1.yes hes still alive, and 2 im not quite sure on that but i think the original beggin that was done was on the gold albumn of the four seasons, frankie valli etc.
i am looking for a song that frankie valli did by himself in mid 80s , and its called streetfighter. please help me find this song by f.v. thanks sonia
I heard the Madcon reworking of this at work a few days ago and asked around for the name, then found the original in searching for it. I do like their version quite a bit, but I find the rapping a little intrusive in terms of the song's structure--normally I really dig that kind of thing, but I think this song works best like this. Still like Madcon's, but now more because of what they've introduced me to. This song is brilliant.
To me everything that makes Madcon's version so great is what was originally in Frankie Valli's song.
I have to give kudos to the people who "rip off" old songs, because I would often never have known they existed otherwise. But take away the original song, and all you'll have left is generic rap. It's a testament to the music of that era. Very rarely do we come across great new music anymore.
I agree, the fact that it was made earlier doesn't mean that it's automatically better.. that's some really fucked up logic some people have. Many new versions of songs are actually better than the old ones, just some people know the old one better and the old versions "bring back memories" and what not..
Who gives a fuck? The memories don't count for nothing.. it's the song..
Meh, dont be embarrassed, lol, I like loads of stuff from the 60's n I'm 16... yeah some people might be like wtf, but screw them, lol, theyre missing out.
Ah, one of my favorite songs. Man, this was when music was good, and this is coming from a 25 year old. I think todays music is terrible compared to those oldies but goodies like this.
It seems as if were just yesterday, but it was 34 years ago this past summer...I was 19 years old & went to see my very first concert in Asbury Park, NJ. In concert that summer of July 1974 was Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons. I'll never forget the excitement I felt & then experienced as that peerless group literally ran on to the stage to perform that night. What a sound! What a voice (Valli). He still today looks and sounds great, but there is never a time quite like the first.

the fact that madcon has left the song basically the same except for the rap is a testament to the brilliance of the original. i like both versions.

In your opinion, Madcon's version is better. But if you're rockin' to the beat, nothing can beat the original. In my opinion of course.
