hey ive got the same car, just lookin to get a nice deep loud sound, what do you think my best bet is for exhaust, not lookin full system, any specifics?
@samdaman324 Replace the stock mufflers with some 40 series flowmaster. That should give you some of the sound you are looking for. Plus do a cold air intake too.
Is that the summit Racing muffler or stainless muffler? Both are chambered but the stainless has ceramic packing and obviously is stainless steel instead of aluminum.
The highflow cat does make a difference in both sound and performace. The mod is well worth it. Go with a magnafloe cat off of summit racing, they have one of the best highflow cats out there and they will not trip the SES light!
@MrHotrodlincoln Well it depends on the car as well. My 02 Camaro droped a 1/2 second off my 1/4 mile time after switching to a high flow cat. That accounts alittle more than 3hp there bud.
@jmc6000 That's the most absurd thing I have ever heard LOL. It might sound good on youtube, but in real life you are obviously a pathalogical liar. ;-)
@MrHotrodlincoln When you acually see the inside of a stock cat compared to a highflow one, then come and talk. I have no idea who told you that a highflow cat only accounts for a 3hp gain, but however did is more full of crap than I am! But whatever puts you to sleep at night there bud. I know what works and I have the time slips to prove it.
@jmc6000 If you dropped off a half second from an exhaust modification there was obviously more factors at play here than simply going to a high flow cat. I still don't believe it. Sorry. A full exhaust setup is likely to produce that result. If that's what you mean, I can understand. If you are trying to say it was just the high flow cat that worked miracles, you're one confused individual. Let's hear a better explanation here because obviously I am confused by your lavish statement.
@jmc6000 And by the way, I've had Magnaflow cats. I've seen the inside of them, not like it matters because I sold them and no longer run cats. They were nothing special. High flowing? Yeah, big deal. My whole exhaust is high flowing.

nice sound. is there an exhaust system for the northstar v8 that will make it louder than if it was open headers?
homelesspimps 11 months ago
@homelesspimps Single chamber mufflers like the cherry bomb extremes or flowmaster 10 series!

did the high flow cat make any sound/performance difference?
i have a 97etc and i have flowmaster 40's on it but the cat/downpipe is still stock and im debating on whether or not to go for the highflow cat.

@jmc6000 A high flow cat is worth 3hp. Sorry to burst your bubble.
