Peter Hutchinson didn't win because he didn't know how to win. But in Minnesota third parties do win when the campaign is ran the right way. It's about the message.
The reason why third parties rarely win is because most people are getting all their knowledge from the media, who rarely talk about 3rd party cadidates. Some people, like me, are smart enough to do research on our own. Right now I think that Mike Gravel (Libertarian) should be president.
They can win by putting as many people on the ballot as possible and running for "small potatoes" offices first instead of running for federal and high state races first. Get the party noticed by electing several small time candidates then try to attract a well known individual for high office.
I learned long ago, and it has been reaffirmed this election cycle, that parties like to sling the mud. Here is yet another example: A democratic party person feels a need to attack a group that has not been confirmed through their party. Some people want everything their way and want to fight about every issue if they can't have it there way. They want a party that allows control, rather than a person that would focus on the fixable and agreed upon problems of the state.
Predmoreinfo, learn to laugh, ha ha ha, i know your robotic like personality might prohibit that but perhaps you can learn one day, by the way I am voting for Hutchinson.
And now Dean Barkley is polling at 19%
