She donated! Great thing to do. Locks of Love is NOT a scam, and she looks the same. Her hair is shorter but it was still basically a trim to a shorter version of long hair. To look any different it would have to be cut above the tops of her shoulders. That is if you are looking at how it affects her face and not just staring down at the ends of her hair.

Want to "do something for cancer" -- then raise **MONEY** for treatment centers, research and study, etc. And better yet, keep your gorgeous hair and donate the money to buy ultra high quality wigs: odds are unless it's for a movie shoot they'll be more comfortable and easier to maintain. My mother had cancer for almost 15 years; she never wanted human hair wigs. Pain in the ass to maintain.

Locks of Love and organizations like them don't make wigs out of donated hair; they SELL the hair and use some of the money to buy synthetic wigs for the patients. And in 2008, Locks of Love earned $2 million from the sale of donated hair, but gave only 401 wigs to cancer patients.

So, was cutting her hair a "selfless thing"? Sure, but it didn't help the patients like she expected.
