Sonny Moore is just a badass with music. Whether when he was in FFTL, or now that he has become known as Skrillex, he's always been a good musician. His singing in FFTL is amazing, but so is the music he produces as Skrillex. Stop comparing and preferring one over the other. It's all by the same person so respect it, listen to it, and shut the fuck up.
I don't know Skrillex has been doing this longer than most people know, there is a reason he was the programmer and synth guy in FFTL (p.s. theyr new guy isnt good at all dont hate me cuz i speak my mind) and that is because he was good. he was also working on Skrillex stuff before he even left the band so thats why he doesnt need to credit them they did nothing to actually help him with Skrillex and were probably not too supportive of him leaving for a solo career.

I don't think most Skrillex fans have any idea who From First to Last are, which is a shame. I used to listen to this band a lot when I was younger and just recently discovered Sonny Moore is now "Skrillex" after not hearing about him for years. I think it's both pretty decent, and I'm glad he's so successful these days. It's interesting to see what people you used to listen to are doing now after half a decade :D
@EternityinTransiency I'm not a fan of Skrillex, but I think it's great that he is even more successful now in a completely different genre. The only thing that bugs me is him not giving FFTL credit as to how he got where he is now. He never mentions them in interviews, almost like he is ashamed of his past or something.

He had a lot of fans that followed his career after he left the band, and a lot of these people were spreading the word about his solo project and Skrillex. I realize he has tons of new fans who have no idea he was in FFTL, but I'm saying (my personal opinion, which may not be true,) if he was never in FFTL he might not be as big as he is now. FFTL got his name out there in the first place.

I'm sure he learned a lot about mixing/producing while being in FFTL, and I'm sure being in the band helped him learn how the music business works and how to promote himself and all that stuff. It's hard to imagine I listened to this cd non-stop in high school. I can hardly remember the lyrics, the beats. It just doesn't seem like me, how I envision myself now (nearly five years later) and it doesn't really fit how I remember myself back then. It's pretty crazy, but it's also nostalgic listening to them again. I think I stopped listening to them after Sonny Moore left, not -because- he left, I just lost interest around that time. @xsHarppz Because screams doesn't mean a song is screamo. Screamo is a sub-genre of emo, and FFTL is not emo in the slightest. Not that they're a bad band, I love them, they're just not screamo or emo.

Here's a short list of some genres that scream that aren't screamo:
post-hardcore, death metal, black metal, metalcore, deathcore, nu-metal. Screamo is just a subgenre

@Zimx02 first of all there is no clear cut definition of lots of labels, such as screamo, hardcore, melodic hardcore/screamo ect ect. people will argue what is what and who belongs to what style. bottom line labels are worthless, listen to the fucking music, enjoy it and dont give a fuck about labels. people who make fun of other people for mis-labeling music (which is not clearly defined to begin with) suffer from a severe superiority complex and are plain pathetic

the way way i see it emo isnt a "style of person" it's a type of music, but i wouldnt quite call it a genre. i bet the nickname of emo for those kids came from the fact that a lot of goth type dressed kids listen to emo music. so then all of the ignoramuses out there assumed that everyone who dresses that way is called emo

sonny is my favourite singer. you guys might all think hes a bad singer, but his voice is just different and thats what i like about it. there's no other voicelike sonny's. matt good sounds exactly like the guys from attack attack!, his voice hasnt got that special.. edgy kind of thing. its just my opinion and i dont expect any one to agree with me and im not trying to start an arguement or anything so...

FFTL are Emo For Sure i mean cmon, the way they dress, the fact that their lyrics constantly have themes of suicde, and the fact that the music is just pop punk tuned very low with occasional screaming and metal breakdowns, which is pretty much what the "emo" music of the early and mid 2000's was, just a hybrid of pop-punk, they are so good tho Being Emo isnt bad at all so dont forget that part FFTL is awsome stuff
