I kind of agree with him. He's just a mediocre drummer like me. 2 stars is nothing special but I don't find "nothing special" all that bad but I do find 2 stars itself bad. I don't like the youtube ratings. But you don't have to be a drummer to tell if a drummer is on beat and playing well with the song. Its just that usually the people who do drum can get very technical about it.

Yes, I agree. Beautiful kit, but the hi- hat openings were in the beginning pretty late/ [bad- sounding] but overall, you're very good. But yeah, you should muffle the kick quite a bit.

Bass head is too loose, toms are too tight, snare is... well... tighten the rez head, loosen the batter head on the snare. Batter heads should be just tight enough to take the wrinkles out. Timing is a bit off, but... Good job!

The drumming itself isn't bad at all but your drums and cymbals sound horrible. The bass drum sounds like you're kicking a grocery bag and that snare...jeez! Throw that snare in the trash or tune it or change the head...SOMETHING. The bass drum sound is so awful that I can't listen to the rest of this.

He could change the beater on the bass. If he goes for one that's padded 360 degrees, they usually defuse the bass a bit and make it Thumpier then a dull crack.

I'm not a drummer, but I think his technique and rhythm were great. You have to have solid technique to play "Tom Sawyer" correctly, or you'll look silly, and this guy does pretty good for someone who's not Neil Peart. I don't think you can criticize what his drums or cymbals sound like because A) he doesn't have Neil Peart's drums or drums the quality and cost of Neil Peart's drums, and B) the sound is from his home camcorder, not a studio recording.
