Got this on my PC, and even on my laptop which isn't anything amazing compared to some rigs out there, the game looks sooooooo much better and maintains a solid frame rate (did I ever see 30fps at any point in this video????). But enough whining for now...

Hey guys, why is my framerate absolutely terrible during this game? The beginning 5 levels or so are almost unplayable for me on xbox, and the only good performance i get are in the underground levels where not much is going on. Is it just me or? In this video and other xbox 360 vids the framerate looks smooth and consistent, mine lags a lot, especially during firefights. Is there anything I can do to improve performance?
@VictorL141...Sounds bad. Maybe you could trying disabling/removing the last update and see how it runs. I have found that some updates have created more problems than solutions. As of right now, the game is running really smooth with minimal pop in ( there from the beginning ) disruptions and really no frame rate issues. Easily one of the best games this gen. :)

@Victor..no guarantee vic but go into your xbox memory and delete all Crysis 2 saves..play off-line & see if that works.Something could also be wrong with the xbox dvd drive/hard drive. Devs use different techniques to stream information from the disc/hard drive..if you have corrupt data, the memory cleanse will clear that up. The game runs great right now for me on 360 so I think once you clear the memory cache, things will be better, then update and see what happens. Good luck.
@InsideOUT37 I tried but the framerate issues are still there.When I leave the first part, open the door,greeted by the outside and the bright light shines in, that part and the parts after it arent smooth. especially when u run into that area with all the guys and the armored vehicles,on the street etc the weapon customisation menu part,and the part with the crashed alien ship and more- almost unplayable for me .I bought a used disc that was slightly scratched, is this the problem?

Oddly enough, I haven't played it in a couple of weeks, loaded it yesterday & the texture loading pop in was pretty bad tho the framerate was good..0_o..not the level you described but midway through the campaign. Having played the campaign through twice, the pop in was never that bad..lol..it got better as I played but it seems to me these updates are to blame or maybe some sort of corrupted data saving problem. Sorry it didn't help..good luck.

The mouse (a gaming mouse, basically a more comfortable mouse than a regular mouse) is PERFECT for FPS and RPG, and the keyboard has TONS of keybindings and commands. Thats why there are more controls for PC, like in CoD 4 for PC, you can "lean". Now you obviously don't know shit on modding because you play on console. Modding on PC is basically make custom games, for example, modders can make a zombie mod in CoD 4 for PC.

pc versions of new games will always have better graphics than the console titles simply because the consoles are ove 6 years old now. but the fact remains that it costs less to buy a second hand 360/ps3 than it would to buy a decent enough graphics card to run this game properly.
plus if you have a ps3 you get a blu-ray player as well.
also, the graphics of a game rarely affect how fun that particular game is the only thing that makes games unplayable is low framerates.
@01chohan Its smooth for the most part.... The is one part in the later lvls in the game and the frame rate gets really low, but it was still playable for me.
@01chohan It usually runs at around 24-30 fps average out at around 28 fps. sometimes when things get really hectic the framerate drops well into the teens. But for the most part it's playable.

@slayer8244 you're just giving reasons why pc sucks, consoles are designed for gaming, they have better framerates, full 1080p graphics, perfect resolution and awesome controllers unlike using a fcken keyboard to play a fps or rpg game and the community is better on xbox live than on pc with your constant modding, cheating, etc.

@randomguy1081 Oh dear lord...You don't know anything about PC gaming. First of a gaming PC has higher framerates than a console. They also have a much better graphical potential. Consoles do not even run at the highest resolution (1920x1080). They run at the 720p. Consoles are designed for casual gaming, so they are meant for people who play every now and then. The controls for a console are CRAP compared to a key board and mouse.

The mouse (a gaming mouse, basically a more comfortable mouse than a regular mouse) is PERFECT for FPS and RPG, and the keyboard has TONS of keybindings and commands. Thats why there are more controls for PC, like in CoD 4 for PC, you can "lean". Now you obviously don't know shit on modding because you play on console. Modding on PC is basically make custom games, for example, modders can make a zombie mod in CoD 4 for PC.

pc versions of new games will always have better graphics than the console titles simply because the consoles are ove 6 years old now. but the fact remains that it costs less to buy a second hand 360/ps3 than it would to buy a decent enough graphics card to run this game properly.
plus if you have a ps3 you get a blu-ray player as well.
also, the graphics of a game rarely affect how fun that particular game is the only thing that makes games unplayable is low framerates.

@01chohan It usually runs at around 24-30 fps average out at around 28 fps. sometimes when things get really hectic the framerate drops well into the teens. But for the most part it's playable.
