  • HOW WE DO IN MD HIGH SCHOOL BITCHES

  • Will he play middle linebacker, sam, or will?

  • Will, and he won't Redshirt

  • wow he is fast for a fb my god that boy can run what ever college he goes to wow you got one hell of a player

  • In the beginning, it looks like he's going full speed when its in slow motion. Another player you should look at is DJ Kee. Check out his highlights.

  • Of all the c/o '09 Gator recruits, this one is my fav. This guy is a beast and he shows it at 2:00. Talk about a murderous run!

  • Good fullback power. Check out Sophomore Jordan Canzeri out of NY> thanks and good luck

  • Damn with this guy, Jon Bostic, and Jeff Luc at linebacker, that gator D might be the best of all time.

  • which school is this guy going to again?

    is is florida?

  • yeah hes gonna be a gator

  • thanks

i pretty much already knew that

    just wanted to make sure

  • 'll listen to you boast about the past because your team sucks currently. It's okay, it might turn around in the next few 100 years.

  • So by that same reasoning, since Penn State hasn't won shit in the new millenium can we do away with the notion that because you were once relative, that you still are? Two shoes dumbass, Maybe OK can look at this comment to. You guys were the past, we're the future. GO GATORS!!!

  • He'll be a great complement to Brandon Spikes

  • alot of people say they run 4.4's but his 4.4 shows on the feild where it counts

  • there's a difference from running in pads and no pads and a difference running on the field and on solid ground so that's the kinda thing some ppl don't know about some ppl might run a 4.3 but run slower with pads and on a field and some run faster on a field but anyways he is quick and can get to a RB or even a WR plus can cover a TE with effectiveness and will be dangerous when he rushes on a blitz and he even loves contact and you gotta love contact if your a LB

  • another thing this kid is only 16 years old and wont be 17 till March i can't wait till he gets bigger faster and stronger this kid is gonna be a beast right now he is but give him time and you'll see what he's capable of plus i see him playing special teams next season and maybe even playing time as a back up and i like how Gators also picked up Jon Bastic these 2 will be a great tandem playing next to each other Go Gators and are future is bright

  • this kid is only 16 years old and will be 17 in march just give him a little time he will get bigger stronger and faster i mean he's already a beast but when he comes in his prime he will be a impact player for the Gators on D hopefully even the Captine if he shows great leader ship and with him and Jon Bastic comming to the Gators they will be a great tandem playing together years to come... Go Gators and are future is bright

  • ooops damn i posted the same thing mybad guys haha

  • kid is only 16..

  • hey umm he's actually 18?

  • 16 year old..

  • Removed a lot of comments I see.

  • SEC Speed Baby

  • yeah anyone thats fast isz in da sec we fast like dayum

  • what the f++k did you say

  • jelani jenkins is still a beast and he can always play in college as a 2nd string wit da gators and u never know what if spikes got injured den jenkins steps up to da plate

  • I totally agree with both of you. He more than likly wont play linebacker because he is only 16, and a little small. He can learn under spikes. But they can either redshirt him or he could play on special teams, as a speedster, then see where he goes from there.

  • you are a brilliant one. florida is #17 in national public schools. you can't compare it with private schools. it is #49 when it goes up against yale, harvard, ect. I guess he also cares about winning, and florida has 2, count em, 2 national championships in the past two years. he likes theidea of playing big time programs like alabama, lsu, and georgia. the annual showdown with navy isn't too impressive. he wants to win.

  • two national championships in the last three years. did you get that education at florida?

  • depends on the sport sweet tits. 2006 NC, 2008NC. throw in a couple of NC's in basketball ass bunz.

  • well said dude... i was pissed when he signed with fucking gaytors... he wudda be a beast with notre dame... thats where i was hoping he would go to

  • As a PSU fan, its disappointing not to garner his pledge. However, he cannot go wrong with UF. They are proven winners, provide fine academics, awesome weather, great coaching, and awesome game day atmosphere. Best of luck to him in Gainesville.

  • Yeah, besides PSU, Florida would have been the best place for him to go. The thing with PSU, however, is that he would play IMMEDIATELY! And he would round out an outstanding defense.

  • Florida will have an outstanding defense next year as well. He may not play right away, but he will become a star there and is willing to wait an extra year if it translates into a shot at a championship. As much as I hate to say it, we will never win another championship with Paterno at the helm.

  • It's okay, though, because we didn't really need him. PSU still got a 5 star O-lineman and some really good secondary men and a big WR.

"As much as I hate to say it, we will never win another championship with Paterno at the helm."

-- Yeah, you're probably right. It will be interesting to see how the next season goes, though, because we still have enough talent to make a push to win the Big Ten.

  • +1. I think the conference title goes through Happy Valley next year.

  • Meh . . . I don't know. We lost 3 line-man and three WRs. It will depend on how well the O-line plays and if our WRs can get open, because we have two great RBs, a very good QB in Clark, and a great Defense. (Too bad Maybin and EVANS left!!!)

However, I think Ohio State will win it, or maybe even Illinois. But PSU will be in it for sure.

  • We have lost a lot, but I think our O-line will be a lot better than what many think. At DE, listen for the name Jack Crawford. You will hear it a good bit next fall.

  • he might wait a year and learn under brandon spikes. spikes is a good guy to learn under, both as a player and a leader. jenkins is still 16, and a little small. give him a year, maybe even redshirt him. he can go into his redshirt freshman year as an 18 year old with a year of being mentored.

  • i can see him playing a lil next year tho if there is a major blow out game and probly could see him on special teams till next season then will get to start but just like all the players he's still gotta compet for his spot.... Go Gators and are future looks awesome and i don't mind if Gators lost a few recruits along the way that's the price of haveing a good team that's why i kinda thought that next years class for the Gators will be even better plus alot more talent out of Florida next year

  • gators got themselves a star

  • with our schedule well see u in the NCG soon enough jelani.. osu and iowa at home and no tough non-conference games.. royster and clark will be running over jenkins and spikes.. cant wait

  • just like i said all along he WILL be a Gators and he is good day :) Go Gators

  • pick Penn State! linebacker-U

  • hey bigcamel i was watching espn today and they said part of the reason he was considering penn state was academics because he cares about his education but obviously football's the most important thing so you're right

  • Florida is a fine academic institution as well. Jelani is a bright student as well and would succeed academically anywhere. Class act and great football player. The Gators got themselves a great one all-around.

  • You said it yourself "Winning Games"... Have a great time with "winning games" at UF we actually prefer winning Championships! Its kinda what we do

  • If yall really think Jenkins cares a bit in the world about academics your all a bunch a idiots... I doubt his future has anything to do with a degree... Penn St. HAHAHAHAHA give me a break... Walking out of beaver stadium? you gotta be kidding me... If this kid has any sense at all he'll come to where we win championships not parade a senile coach around in a press box all year GO GATORS!!!

  • LOL! Why wouldn't he be interested in the school famous for creating line-backers and winning games???

  • MARYLAND LOCK

  • lol Maryland fans have no brain.... he's not going the Marland for the last damn time... there not even at the top of his favorit school's....

  • Come to Penn State Jelani! There's nothing else like walking through the tunnel behind Joe Pa at Beaver Stadium!!! you'll love it here!

  • Sorry Penn St. You guys made a good push, but when it's said and done Jelani will be a Gator. Go Gators!!!

  • Hard to tell. It's kind of ridiculous, n my opinion, that thi is the state of college football where PSU can't get the best line-backers from PA and MD, but whatever. If he comes to Penn State, he will round-out the best line-backing core in the Big Ten, with Sean Lee, Navarro Bowman, and then him. He would start, most likely, immediately!

  • Sc needs you!!!

  • wow.... your a fuken tard trying to make something true that's not your back into a corner like a lil bitch and trying to make everyone make seance of your bull shit. what proof do you have you argent prick and get fuked why you care what i do....

  • Florida graduated every senior this year, retard.

  • This guy looks like a linebacker from the early 90's . He's raw.

  • alright folks jelani has said "I am wide open on schools right now but am looking for a college with a good football program, great academics and a high athlete graduation rate," Jenkins said. If he is indeed down to PSU and Florida, PSU clearly fits that mold and Florida clearly DOES NOT fit that mold. If he does decide to go to Florida, that basically says that he has thrown academics and graduation rate out the window and will commit to a school just based on their football program.

  • Hahah Florida is not an Academic school? Its the hardest school to get into in florida, and becoming f becoming a doctor, its the best place to go.Maybe not as good as Psu but your making it sound like its a community college.

  • and your right NOT stupid if you look most of the players on the Gators team all have good ademics and Jelani wants to go into medical and Gators can provide that to him my next point if that was true why would lol not Jelani but his dad be intrested in his son going to the Gators if its not all about acdemics... really... case point stop pulling stuff out your ass.... and Jelani and his parents really like the Gators they wouldn't have visited 2 times if it wasn't

  • Florida is a better academic school than Penn State, you mongoloid.

  • Dear hughugh out of the top 200 college institutions in the world Florida is ranked # 165 while Pennsylvania State University is ranked # 105, also U-Penn is # 11, please don't think that because you live in year round sun that southern schools have better academics, they don't, the north east has some of the best colleges in the world. As far as academics go the SEC and the Big Ten are completely different, SEC cannot hold a candle to the Big Ten in that category.

  • Thank you! Also, notice how we can actually speak in complete sentences unlike ah1mike. Haha.

  • hahahahahahahahahaha, ok

  • Going to ND...4.0 and could start at linebacker with Mani Teo if he signs too. They would be the best linebacking core in college ftball.

  • ya and where did you get info that he was even going to ND when he took visit 2 times to PSU and the Gators and another thing his dad even likes the Gators and he could be just as good LB at the Gator's and learn from one of the best Brandon Spikes and he's been talking to Brandon Spikes to and most likely start the following year till you have more info that he's going to ND and give harder facts.......

  • Jelani is a very impressive individual. He is actually excited about Brandon coming back for a year to learn behind on of the best in CFB. He is truely great and wish him the best. GO GATORS!!

  • Gator all the way

  • Recruiting sites all say Jenkins has been a Florida silent for a while. His family even traveled to Gainesville on an unofficial visit to see the campus before the UA game. Meyer even had his in-home visit with him yesterday, and I supposedly Jenkins' visit to PSU was uneventful.

  • pretty much he's gonna be a Gator I'll be stunned if he's not but from everything that i hear he will.... and Gators have a shot at Brandon Moore with him it's down to Bama and the Gators and a good chance with Marlon Brown but we'll see what happens there and maybe even Ray Ray Armstrong but who know's Andre has been trying to get Armstrong and Brown to come to UF but will see what happens there too

  • the rest.....

    ND-Ron Powlus-brought in 1 2 star player ~Jake Golic~

    USC-Todd McNair-brought in 1 4 star player ~Alshon Jeffery~

    VT-Billy Hite-brought in 1 2 star and 1 3 star biggest player he got ~Nubian Peak~

i got the recruiting info from rivals . com

  • recruiters recruiting Jelani Jenkins

PSU-Larry Johnson-brought in six 3 stars and 4 stars players biggest player he recruited ~Darrell Givens~

    UF-Billy Gonzales-brought in one 5 star player and 2 4 stars biggest player he recruited ~Andre Debose~

    Illinois-Mike Locksley-brought in 1 3 star player ~Derrell Person~

    Miami-Aubrey Hill-brought in 1 five star,2 4 stars and 1 3 star biggest player ~Ray Ray Armstrong~

  • ima say he pulls a fast1 on everyone just like arnelius benn and goes to illinois, im not from illinois but im telling you any recruit that has a 4.0 gpa and has a offer from illinois will will consider it seriously.

  • Gator.

  • Best Academics= Stanford

Best Blend of Academics and Football=USC

Good Academics and wins championships every other year=Florida

  • yes but i don't think that he'll go to USC they already picked up a LB and might pick up another so there set and Gators are targeting him right now more then anyone and Stanford nah im sure there not gonna have a chance mostly the only to schools right now is Gators and PSU has a really great shot at him and Gator scouts are doing everything to bring this kid in plus he visited 2 times at the Gators campus and his parents loved and and his dad even said Gators set the high bar for right now

  • but still he could go anywhere but i think Gators are still on top as his favorite schools to go to plus the Gators football team prides on academics and Urban wants to make sure they graduate with a good GPA at least not saying every collegiate team doesn't want that but most of the players on the Gators team are all pretty smart kids too

  • o ya just one more lil small thing don't think he'll head out west to play football or maybe just to do to school... think he'll stay out east plus it would be easyer for his parents to make the trip to see him play but we'll see what happens my pick is he goes to the Gators and i know im a Gators fan but anyways im just going on what my opinion is plus i didn't really think we could get Debose to the Gators but i guess him wanting to stay in FL made him pick the Gators

  • I can tell you checked my profile and found out I'm a USC fan but I don't care where jelani goes. That is totally unbiased info I wrote. Even though I forgot to metion PSU had like 10 academic all-americans. But distance is not a factor. Jelani went on a like 16 school tour around the nation this summer.

  • My guess is that he goes to Florida anyway.

  • Medical Program rank is the following: Stanford #8, USC #36, Florida #48. The other schools aren't ranked.

  • His final 5 are Notre Dame, Stanford, Florida, USC, and Penn State. The National Universities rank has them as the following, Stanford is #4, ND is #18, USC is #27, PSU is #47, and Florida is #49.

  • The University of Florida has one of the best Medical programs in the country. They are doing all kinds of cutting edge work in the medical field and are published in medical journals CONSTANTLY.

If this kid wants to play football on a national stage and get a top notch education in the field of medicine then I don't see how you can make an argument for any other school. UF offers the best of everything, hands down!

Current temp at Penn State: 8 Degrees

Current temp at UF: 50 Degrees

  • PSU puts out great linebavkers on a yearly basis, we get tons of recruitsfrom Maryland, so that helps PSU's case, but the National Championship, among other things, states Florida's case really well. It'll be interesting. ND and USC just feel impossible to me for some reason. Stanford has great education but not the greatest football program, but still pretty good. UF, PSU, and Stanford will probably be what it comes down to

  • actually to put notre dame in the same sentence academically as stanford is a bit absurd.

  • your dumb Gators college has one of the best educations on the country dumb fuk and plus he wants to go into medical and UF can provide that to him and plus the Gators players need a good GAP and a good SAT score to even be a Gators look it up.....

  • His a TROJAN ALL DAY

  • why is he gonna be a trojan lol there's nothing that says he's gonna go there plus its down to the Gators and PSU

  • i like the 4.0 he has

  • Jelani Jenkins parents loved the visit at the Gators campus from what i heard they said nothing but good news from there visit and Jelani will make his decision on Feb. 4th national signing day we will see how everything goes but as far as i know Gators are still his favorite school and his parents really liked it to...

  • GOT TRUCKED BY TRENT!!

  • He's A gator! HE took the visit about 2 weeks ago around DEC 12th.

  • lol hello didnt look at the part when i said he was gonna be a Gator plus heres another thing to he took another visit when he went to the Under Armour game with both his parents he just wants to take his time and make sure he made the right decision of picking the Gators

  • and another thing that's what the same thing Greg Reid is doing i believe that Jenkins made a silent commit to the Gators just doesnt want the media all up on him to.... him being the #3 linebacker in the nation and its not just a full decision on his part but his parents to and from what i know his parents love the Gator and he has them ahead of all the rest and PSU is trying to make ground on him

  • guess Jelani is waiting it out but im sure he will be a Gator i think he'll take one more visit to PSU tho just to make it fair.... you know since he took a visit to the Gators campus like 2 day's ago but im not sure btw he did really good in the Under Armour game

  • does he announce where he is playing 2nite?

  • im sure sandman just watch for Ray Ray Armstrong Dye and Debose 2night and Dye says he's gonna shock ppl or something lol i have no clue what he is up to. as for Debose lol im not gonna say it you'll find out hehe.... and im sure Jenkins will commit and Gators always finsh strong getting some really great commits aka when they got Spikes and Tebow they committed at the AA game few years ago

  • floridas way to good lol

  • o ya and from what i heard lol i dont want to say cause ppl might be like that's bull Jenkins is trying to get players to commit to the Gators lol.... so is Gary Brown and Nu'Keese Richardson lol and dw about Greg Reid he's just looking at other schools he'll be a Gator

  • he better not play for florida

  • lol why..... hahaha Go Gators plus he could play more at UF do to injury's at LB's at the Gators and plus Gators will have a really great D for years to come most of the Gators D are mostly all Soph. Fresh and JR. barely any Seniors at all Jenkins would be a Star at the Gators

  • yeah that would be awesome if he came here. too bad Spikes is leaving =(

  • it's kool 33shpard33 Gators are loaded at LB and if and when jenkins goes to UF he will contribute off the get go Gators will be set no matter if they lose Spikes or not

  • yeah, just Spikes is a great athlete. I hope to see him in the pros

  • he will do great in the pro's and Gators will be stacked at LB's just picked up Jon Bastic to and dw Gators will get Jenkins its just a matter of time and he just took another visit to the Gator campus with his mom and dad also

  • he took another visit at the Gators campus while he's at the Under Armour game like i said in one of my comments that he would do that plus i have some inside source from friends and ppl that live on campus and stuff online

  • lol why sandman

  • Apparently he will announce his decision at the Under Armour All America game. and i been hearing he made a silent commit to the Gators

  • WELL IF THATS TRUE best of luck too him.

  • I REMEBER LAST YEAR Kenny TAte came down to FLorida , PSU and UMD and Illinois

and Tate plays for Maryland right now.

hopefully Jelani story ends the same way. GO TERPS.

  • from what im hearing he's gonna be a Gator and plus i even heard he made a silent commit to the Gators and Apparently will announce his decision at the Under Armour All America game.

  • TERPS

  • MARYLAND???????

  • the teams that mostly have a chance at him right now is PSU and Gators and plus he will be visiting PSU and try to visit the Gator's campus during the Under Armour game with his mother so she can see how it is but from what i here his dad and Jelani really loved going to there visit on Gators campus

  • well i cant say love lol really liked it that's when his dad said that comment the one i put here was a quote from Jenkins father sayine "Florida has set the bar high" "that much is for sure" cause they asked him ppl been saying this all online mostly Gator fans and they said they want to take there time to decide and figure out what school Jelani will attend so might take till signing day from him to decide where he wants to go

  • but what ever school he chooses that's what he pick's but this is stuff i been hearing tho and Maryland might still be there but i think the schools that have visit's at the end better chance to land someone then the start aka PSU and Gators right now they both have a really good chance on getting him

  • there was a quote from Jenkins father sayine "Florida has set the bar high" "that much is for sure"

  • Under Armour Game*

  • he will make a visit to PSU on Jan. 16 and try to make another visit to Gainesville during the Under game week

  • he's close to becoming a Gator might take till signing day tho

  • Brandon Spikes would be a great mentor for this kid.. go to FLorida!!

  • Brandon Spikes is going pro bro.... and will be missed Go Gators but Jelani Jenkins could be the next star on D just like Spikes

  • Brandon Spikes is staying in school for his senior year

  • doesn't matter bruce he'll still win out the spot for LB right after Spike's leaves the Gators and plus it's not a facter to him wanting to go to the Gators that Spikes is staying Jelani Jenkins would still go to the Gators

  • Jelani don't go to PSU

  • Gator

  • this kid better go to notre dame!!

  • hes basically down to florida and psu he just hasnt officially announced that yet

  • Reminds me of Patrick Willis, except he's probably faster. I hope this kid becomes a gator.

  • me too

  • Oregon would love a legitimate Linebacker like Jenkins

  • He would look good in Orange and Blue. And i'm sure the school LOVES that 4.0 GPA.

  • There isn't a USC of the east, but thanks for acknowledging that USC,[Trojans]is what holds the standard in excellence and sets the bar when fielding a defense in college ball.USC will be loaded for the next several seasons.A pro football factory,USC is LA's football team.If it wasn't for the BCS joke and one poorly played quarter against Oregon St.One of the teams now in the deal would be dealing with a serious threat.Penn St watch out.You aint seen nothing yet.Next year:national champs USC

  • ya oregon state is an awesome football team. it was a close game vs. penn state. why did they lose? because of poor coaching. usc the most talented team every year and they lose to teams like oregon state and stanford and stuff like that. pete carol is only a good coach because he is good at recruiting. they wont win the national championship because they will lose to some crap team like every year.

  • how is 45-14 close?

  • A perfect fit for the Gators! The U S C of the East. I hope he come play with the high level athletes at Florida which will bring out the best in him.

  • why would he go to maryland? to lose?

if he went to penn state he would win games and get the best defensive coaching at the collegic level

  • Man.. that closin speed is sick. Best of luck Jelani in your college career! You will make some school extremely happy. Keep that motor going man

  • Ouch, at 2:58 he almost got hurt.

  • Jelani

    You'd love it @ PSU!!

You can play a year beside Sean Lee to learn the college game, then take over.

  • Meeeeeeechigan!!!!! Go Blue!!!!

  • Michigan.

  • I hope he goes to Linebacker U. Hes a great linebacker so thats where he belongs

  • He's gonna be a GATOR.

  • This kid will follow Manti Te'o and form the best one-two combination in the country. GO NOTRE DAME FIGHTING IRISH

  • this guy is a stud but why they put up all these videos of him as runningback annoys me

  • Our helmets have wings on them...

    COME TO MICHIGAN!

  • Please go to Maryland !!!!!!!!! Rep your own Hometown team. You most likely will start and get the Terrapins on the map once again, Please join your partner/team mate caleb porzel !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! good luck !!!!!!!!!

  • i have this gut feeling hes going to either penn state or michigan. PRAYING that he comes to michigan. all i kno is we need something to look forward to right now.....

  • I'm a Penn State fan, so it's obvious where I'm hoping he goes

but wherever he ends up, I'm looking forward to watching him

  • MARYLAND SON

  • Hey JJ, come on down to LSU for a shot at the BCS! The SEC is like New York... If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere!
