  • you keep rocking on! im gonna buy this bass..cant wait...

  • nice cove mate! very well done btw what effects did you use?

  • Is this Epiphone or Gibson? Dunno if the difference is worth the extra money, any advice?

  • what pedal did you use? nice cover btw :)give mine a look

  • What settings are you using on the XBD? Been fiddling with the damn thing and I finally got the tone somewhere close to what it should be but then I forgot it :/

  • ummmm Thunderbirds cannot be bought for $300

  • LoL I wanted to make a cover of Assasin and my camera battery went low

  • just recently learned hysteria but i guess i need an effects pedal more practice or a better bass coz i play it the same but it sounds nowhere near as gd :L

  • what are the settings of your digitech bass driver? the bass player of my band has the same pedal but he can't set up that effect..

    ps. nice cover! :D

  • @ZanziRock92 does he have a thunderbird? (gibson or epiphone doesnt matter xd)

theyre known for a powerful sound..

im not a bass expert, thats all i know xd

  • Great video dude, i'm considering getting the digitech pedal! I can't decide between it and the EH Bass Blogger (I can't quite afford a BBM :( ) can this pedal provide quite a good fuzz? I mean in your video, it sounds quite fine!

  • amazing job with the playing mate. what distortion pedal/effect youre using? atleast it sounds like the bottom is kept. Im not a bassist but i got problems with keeping bottom in the bass when putting distortion on there. was in front row at Muse at rock am ring a month ago, was AMAZING :)

  • Can the dass driver fuzz up pretty well?

  • nice bass

  • Que buen cover! :) is great! :D i like it! :) congratulations!

  • VERY nice job!!

  • Have the same bass as you :D

    superb job too. 5 stars!

  • only a few mistakes but really good, and its not too fast its perfect speed

  • good job !!!

  • wow, this has inspired me to keep practising this song! I've always struggled with this track... and I also have a Thunderbird, gd vid, cheers.

  • sick! hahaha awesomely sick.

  • Nice one mate. Such a hard bassline. Is ur bass epiphone or gibson? I have an epiphone :) xx

  • Amazing... You are good playing that song... Kick Ass!!!

  • mate yor really good at this riff, but for a bit of advice, slow down the music in your head, feel it more. because from an honest listener i noticed a couple of mistakes in the riff due to you jumping to the notes too quickly. other than that, excellent cover, very well done

  • i think so as well, really nice cover, ut some notes are missing because you are playing to fast

  • that helps me play this song. thanks

  • If you play it with a pick you get better tone in my opinoin like

  • the pick gives a much more metalic sound whereas fimnger picking gives a deeper thumpier sound. it just depends on your style.

i prefer finger picking, im faster and more accurate that way and i like the deeper sound.

  • it depends what you play, i think. if what you're playing was originally done with a pick, then i'd use one, but if it's done with fingers, then i usually won't use one

  • Nice cover and nice bass!

  • Completely. Fucking. Awesome.

  • man that's sick. nice bass, btw!

  • mate THATS FUCKING SICK

  • wow dude thats pretty sweet ur really good

  • hi

can u tell how much did your bass cost u?!

    sorry for my english

  • £240 if I remember correctly.

  • @dase777666 its the epiphone thunderbird it costs round 300$

  • i have this bass its SO sick, i love playing these songs too

  • lol for a cheap shitty bass it sounds goog XD

  • how is it shitty?

  • its an epiphone, ok so its fairly cheap but its not shitty

  • they sound good but there almost impossiable to fret

  • Its a gibson epiphone thunderbird it may be cheap but its one heck of a bass and it can rock

  • its so cool

  • ow long u been playin bass 4

  • Almost 2 years now. Cheers for the comments. It's a lovely bass, well worth the price - you can pick it up for under $300.

  • yea i do the same

  • nice i might learn to play bass just for this song

  • you pick a bass I finger pick one try finger picking it's better you get a cleaner sound trust me

  • Look out the video. He fingerpicks the bigger part of the song.

  • really gooddd:)

  • nice man :D

  • I really dig the sound of your Overdrive/Distortion/Synth. It's got a great sound.

You also do a great job, albeit a few mistakes, also, when you go down to play the E string then go up to play the A, you pause sort of, the strumming is supposed to be constant. Your fingers should never stop moving until the chorus. Otherwise, PERFECT!

  • Cheers mate. Yeah you're right about the E/A transition, it's the bit of the riff I've always struggled with. Can't seem to get my fingers to coordinate - I think with a 5 string it would be easy, since the fingers have something to bounce off having plucked the E.

  • i had problems with that section and ive solved them by playing one G note (the first where you move from E>A) on the 15the fret of the E instead of 10th on A. hit that with your pinky and then play the rest of the riff as normal, that really helped me get the speed up to standard =]

  • amazin!! hey ive finally got my laptop 2 let me upload sum off my videos!! can u check em out 4 me ?? ive only got supermassive and exo-politics on here so far but yanooo lol

cheers mate ur still awsome!! :D

  • were u get your tabs from?

  • Ultimate-guitar(dot)com

  • don't take it the wrong way but i really hate the look of those basses! But nice cover though!! That was good! I remember how hard i thought this song was when i first started learning it. how long did it take you to play it like that? i got it in like an hour, i think.

  • Why so hate Thunderbirds :O I have one. It's sexy as fuck in person, and it's a beast to play :P

  • It is? It's just so big!

Maybe i'll try to play one in person, and see how it does... I have an ibanez, and next bass i want to get is the helix by lace.

  • Eh, I like Ibanez basses. Played a few. I'm just a fan of outlandish designs. Latest purchase was an Epi Explorer bass :P

But, yeah, I'd recommend you get a shot of a Thunderbird. They're quite good.

  • i'm a guitarist and at one point thought about picking up bass, i played thunderbird and was amazed, the sound and feel is brilliant and the explorer is good too. I didn't end up getting a bass but if i ever do it will be a thunderbird

  • I'm enjoying my Explorer. Neck is nice and wide; a complaint I have with the Thunderbird. Oh well. Both are brilliant to play anyway :P

  • wats ur complaint?

  • I was implying that the neck on the Thunderbird narrow. Which it is. Stays a similar width all the way through, which gets annoying as you get further up. I dunno why, but I just don't like it. That's why I've generally been playing my Explorer more.

Might fork out for one of the new 5-string Thunderbirds in a year or two. Might sort the problem out for me.

It IS a nice bass though. If you can set up an amp correctly.

  • I did. I went to guitar center just to play one haha.. then i played an Ibanez soundgear 305 and i liked it way better. I'm sorry!!! i just can't like them lol

  • Different strokes, eh? :P

  • i guess so, bro. By the way, you do really good bass covers. I just got an FX pedal. Korg AX3000B. What do you use?

  • I use a Zoom B2. Not a bad little pedal.

And, covers... Peace Sells by Megadeth is pretty fun to play. Hysteria too, of course. By The Way by the Chillis isn't bad either. It really depends on what you want to play. Just listen to the bass in songs, and if you like it (or it sounds like a challenge to play), learn it.

  • Yea that's what i do. i do a lot of red hot chili peppers, like Soul to Squeeze, Wet Sand, etc., and Muse, of course, too. I'll upload some videos sometime. That's pretty much all i hear in every song, it's the bass. I enjoy playing it very much.

  • Awesome man! :D

  • mann how can you finger pick like that>> i tried but i cantt v_v i can only play it with a pick, nice job

  • well done. that sounds like the actuall bass line. nice cover well done :) btw muse are a good band.

  • yeah.its hard to keep that speed during the song.i can play it but i lack stamina

  • nice bass ive always wanted a thunderbird and obviously it sounds really amazing get back at me on how great it is

  • Where can I get an Epiphone Thunderbird in UK ???

  • so they mute your SMBH cover but not this one? thats fucked up!

    nice cover btw

  • Yeah it's a fucking joke. Like they're trying to intimidate me, or taking token actions to please Warner. If they were really serious about stopping copyright "abuse", they'd take down all my videos (note to youtube: please don't!).

  • nice tone!

  • thunderbirds rule!

  • you have played it very good. only thing is i dont like the sound of the digitech bass driver.. i prefer the EHX Big Bass Muff. but you did nice job.

  • NICE THUNDERBIRD!!!

  • you took a shortcut on the main riff when it switches strings on the third bar.

  • Awesome cover! Your bass looks great! What color?

  • Cheers, it's the sunburst effect.

  • i love thunderbirds

  • Nice going, you play like a fucking pro!

  • I rather like the bass :)

  • Lol thanks, usually I hear the reverse!

  • Nice cover, great sound. You have some nice vids, grats ;D If you like muse so much try to do a plug in baby cover, it's really fun to play

  • DUDE THAT WAS WICKED!!!

  • your getting a lot better Ben... that distortion sounds like setting #35 on my RP50. I used it on the bass and guitar on my main video I recently posted on my channel. ( distortion is so cool for a lot of things, even made up jams )

I hope your around a year from now, so I can see what you can do after that much time elapses.

  • Good Lord Ben! That Digitech Overdrive sound you get with your setup is the best I've heard. Great post!

  • weyyy nice one mate!

you have the sound perfect haha!!

    well done (y)

  • very good... i like how you play....

hmmm im givin it 4 stars
