A double is just BARELY big enough for 2 people, and they better be small frame and/or 5'8" or less. A queen is a good choice for lone sleepers if you're 6 foot tall or taller, it's about 6-8 inches wider than a full and a good 8 inches longer. If you're 6 foot or taller you'll often find your feet hanging off the edge of the bed when sleeping in a double.

I have just wasted 2 grand on two one-sided mattress labeled as plush and pillowtop . they are packed with coils, weigh a ton, will never sagand youll never get any sleep on them. They always feel great in the store, but at home, after about an hour you feel them begin to drain all the energy out of your body. The manufacturers have screwed this up royally and are laughing all the way to the bank.
Stearns and Foster (Sealy) is junk! My 16 month old $2500.00 mattress has a 4 inch body impression in it. Great if you love pain! There warranties are worthless and their customer service is the worst I've ever experienced.
Quote: "The largest size possible is a California or Eastern King..." They are NOT the same thing. Eastern King is the standard king...it is 76 x 80. A California King is 72 x 84.
He is right and make sense. Be smart get knowlege and get facts before you buy it. OFten dealers woould sell for the commission. Set a budget and know your goals also check for financial options before you spend the money. IS a very personal thing, and you sleep on that bed more or less 8 hours a night. Do and compare before you get one.

Two Twins do not make up a King size.
You would need two twin extra long sets.
Twin - 38" x 74.5"
Twin XL 38" x 80"
You would need the Twin XL sets to match the king size length - 80" :)
