  • Wow its not 240p its 120p.

  • so you don't want to go off half cocked

  • 2:34 to see him fire already.

  • So were the Muskets in Japan Matchlock or Flintlock?

  • @xaxie1 flintlock

  • @xaxie1 matchlock has a burning rope for ignition

  • i want 1

  • hey, im looking for a video game ( with first person or third person gameplay) with muskets, anyone knows one? ( even mmos)

  • @Tutu0alex potco is a good one, but you cant get muskets with basic access (playing for free) you must putchse unlimited (paying) in order to get better ships, weapons (like the musket and bayonet) better ammo, clothes and so on...

  • @Tutu0alex Medieval 2 Total War, and also Empire TW and Napoleon TW.

  • Maine. My home. :]

  • poor quality, but good video

  • my mate once robbed a bookies with a musket.

  • @gringolazlo

    That's got class.

    }: )

  • very nice

  • i think that i that time. the men who moved to the field they must have lot of gutts to stay in the front, shoot and reload waiting the shoot of the enemy.many things changed in the battlefield

  • @kjsh987 Indeed, statistics were made based on surviving data.

    a) soldiers killed or maimed

    b) ammunition spent

the comparison shows that it was far more riskier to figh tin the 18th century than in WW I, WW II, Korea and Vietnam. With more firepower, metal cartridges and later semi-automatic and automatic assault rifles the amount of ammo fired just into the air- even from precise barrels- without hitting anyone has steadily risen.

  • whats the name of the fort in the background?

  • @1diclicious

It is the reproduction of Fort William Henry at Colonial Pemaquid State Historic site in Bristol, Maine.

  • im disappointed i was expecting a loud bang oh well

oh and great vid thanks for your demonstration

  • i went to the civil war

  • the cartridges look like joints. sorry they do. Anyway, cool video. I'm more of a rifle or assault tifle guy, but i like flintlock pistols.

  • this video help me get an 89% on my history peristation

    thanks man!!!

  • the uniform and the hat look pretty cool,

    the video is interesting

    thanks Maine

    5 stars

  • Hey cool vid!!! I want to buy a brown bess or any other colonial musket and I found some website were they sell them but it says: These models cannot withstand misuse or excessive dry-firing and cannot be made to fire real ammunition.

All I want is to fire with just powder without ammunition will it be OK?

    Thanks in advance!

  • this means there is no way to ignite the powder and some of these models have no barrel to prevent it from being made to fire

  • awesome!!!

praised be the sons of liberty!

  • Mayor Bloomberg thinks this antique flintlock is an "assault rifle".

    What a blooming idiot!!!

  • @GunOwnerDan I suppose by the assault weapons ban definition, if you put night sites on this thing, it WOULD be... considering it already has a bayonet lug

  • LOL!... As long as there is no return fire we are ok". Nice vid.

  • You shoot always aim your musket in a slightly elevated position so you don't shoot somebody.

  • good demonstration

    but...

    1:33 - 1:38

as a re-enactor myself... that is not an excuse sry

  • Easy for you to say young whipper snapper.

  • yeah hes got two opposing teeth he should be able to do it. It's not like the thing is made of concrete...

  • The ball goes down the barrel on top of the powder. It is rammed down from the muzzle with a small piece of cloth under it to help keep it snug.

  • That's only when your not using a smooth bore musket. You do that with a Kentucky rifle.

  • Interesting that he has it set up so that it's "firing blanks". Where do you stuff the bullet? Is it shoved in the barrel along with the other half of the powder bag?

  • One thing about a flintlock is that you can use it to ignite your campfire. Caint do that with a percussion musket

  • "as long as the other side doesn't return fire, i am ok" LOL

  • great video

  • Very interesting! I'm getting a flintlock soon, so this got me drooling all over again for all things flintlock. Thanks for posting
