I love when they join hands at the end. Despite it's only two hands. I hope someday Korea and all of Japan will hold hands and put the past behind each other.
Maybe some of you should appericate the fact that it's like Korea and Japan have come together again and let all the bad history they've had together in the past go. Of course it's not really the case but that's the feeling I get from them singing together.
I like this version because I think the Moriyama is giving a more upfront and stronger quality to the song, while Shin Seung gives a more gentle warmth. This contrast is quite interesting, plus she's helping him by appealing to a Japanese audience. :)
Overall i think their performance is ok n good.it just people would prefer SSN to duet with someone much younger... and yes that ossan is over feeling...
The backup instruments drowned out the singers. Too fast and too loud. The song sounds better slow. Also the clash of the Japanese and Korean languages doesn't help either. This was a good cultural exchange op more than anything else.
frankly i dont see a problem with moriyama-san's singing. sometimes i wonder its if age discrimination or race? Instead of criticising, we should respect everyone's singing. its definitely not easy to be able to sing such songs? wonder if those people that criticise can sing half as good moriyama-san... maybe even the first few phrases and dynamics and vibrato can be impossible let alone the whole song....
she has a wonderfull emotional voice, with a rich natural vibrato. It is, perhaps, an aquired taste and maybe some people wouldnt immediately enjoy listening to a voice like hers. But if you understand the lyrics you realise how apropriate her voice is for the mood of the song. Still what soul can sing a live duet with SSH and come out on top. His voice is like an angels.
What's with the intro to the song? I felt it was completely out. There was no hint of what song was going to be sung. The lady seems to be straining to sing. Don't like her singing.
I don't see why people say the old lady is bad. The Japanese lyrics don't flow as well as the Korea ones but they are beautiful in their own respect. The only thing I didn't like was the instrumentals.
No, it was composed by a famous songwriter named Hyungsuk Kim. He wrote tons of other hits. That doesn't say that Shin Seunghoon can't compose, he wrote many songs himself, and is quite excellent in it.

the chinese version is better.. well i meant the singers who sings this song. This is only my opinion but i feel that during the chorus, they don't have this power that i hear in the chorus. But rather, the chinese singers strongly sings that part well.. well i love this song!
if you are korean then i have something to say to you... koreans are descendants of chinese! and so are japanese, thai's, vietnamese, and many other! so dont make your self look stupid!
you fucking idiot, by that logic you're also descendant of the africans so shut up. it's not what people used to be that is important, its what they are now. if you were an accurate representation of what chinese people were like, I'm so glad that the korean and japanese left that country. But thankfully i have tons of chinese friends who are nowhere as retarded as you and don't bring up this dumb-as-shit argument because they're actually educated.
I hope you're not 29 like your youtube page says. Because only a child can make such an ignorant comment. Koreans and Japanese are genetically, and linguistically related more with Mongolians than the Chinese. The cultural similarity that the Japanese and the Koreans have with the Chinese is a result from sinicization.
thats ridiculous. this song is supposed to be a song of hope and waiting, not a song of power...shin seung hoon trumps any of those imitation chinese singers...
i'm a filipino and i dnt understand any word they both sang. that's the beauty of music i guess. you dnt really need to know the words to understand and feel what the singer is trying to say. i love this song. one of my favourites. beautiful collaboration.
The guy standing beside her is Sin Seung Hoon, a Korean singer who also wrote this book. A lady is well-known Japanese singer who is singing his song in Japanese show.
Ack, I have to say, I don't really think Shin picked the right person to sing this song. Gosh, why couldn't it be someone like Mika Nakashima or someone, anyone who uses less vibration technique?.. I've been madly in love with him ever since he debuted when I was in elementary school like 15+ years ago.
Wow he was singing to the Japanese part as well. Amazing guy. Always felt hard to learn both Jap and Korean. Btw, great performance and thanks kballad!
I love the japanese version of this song... Perhaps because I can actually understand it myself. ^^; Does anyone happen to have an MP3 of his japanese version?
Is it just me? Moriyama Ryoko kinda ruined this duet. Her voice leaves something to be desired. Shin Seung Hun should have sung this song by himself. He has a wonderful voice.
@mintaco no Moriyama Ryoko didn't ruin the song, if she did ruin the song, then she wasn't there to sing and duet with Shin Seung Hun. But of course, it is better if another singer was given the chance to sing this song.

I actually rather like her voice, but it may not be the best suited for this type of song. IIRC, she's more of a folk singer.
I think she sounds better in Nada Sou Sou, but of course that's 'her' song and this is 'his' so they're better in their own element.
