India has the ability to block trade and supply line of others coz of its position in INdian ocean. Thats y they named it the Indian ocean. India's work force-human capital is huge... Japan is n0 match to India in power and resources. So, I again ask u to fix ur chinese eyes b4 u lo0k at INDIA. :)

India and china are two huge trade partnes wid over 100 billion dollars every year. They need each other...

@stephentsang2000 - china's one child policy will lead to its disaster. China will be left with older aged population in next 30 years which will be of no use to china militarily and economically coz of this retard unhuman policy.

India on the other hand will have younger population which will lead it to the crown of global superpower... U chinese must fix ur eyes before u look at India...pmsl.

Gone are the days of more people = more power. On the contrary, more people = more problems, especially when most of the people are undereducated or even uneducated. Jobs, natural resources, living space, crime, schools, health care......and militarily more people doesn't mean military superiority, as the enemies could simply cut off your resource supply lines and starve your country to death, which was the case when Japan lost the war to USA.

India has no chance to attain superpower status like China unless India pursue the one-child policy same as China. India's out of line population explosion is simply a kind of self-defeatism.

@stephentsang2000 I agree with you. But unfortunately, it can't be done in a democracy. A previous prime minister tried something similar and was voted out in the next election. But the fertility rate in India is down to 2.68 and is decreasing monotonically. Gone are the days of 4 children on average.
