  • OK OK for some free hip hop samples check out my page

  • how did you record from the radio on to your slicex? how do i set it up to do that any 1

  • From where did yo get the loop?

Sorry im bad in english and i didn't get it!

Because i'm searching for these specific drum loops ! with this oldschool style, pls help and say how does the loop is called

  • is there anyway i can cut out a snare from a sample so that u cant hear it but u can still hear the sample ?

  • everything is ok but it sounds like shit, what effects could be use for drumbreaks like this???

  • Can you use a qwerty keyboard with slicex

  • OsamplesK, YOU state that the drum sounds will go into a c:/ file.

how do i bring up that window

  • @taahdah That is a normal Windows Explorer window. You can do this by opening up your My Computer screen.

  • ok you say hit M to mark the sound you want to save now is this for all windows because its not working with windows 7. and could you plz show how you got to the drum kits window to save the sound? because ive tryed everything. what am i doing wrong?i did load a sample and all that but the "M" shortcut dose not work.

anyway could you show how yoou got to the save drums file and how to work it. plzzzzz.

  • @taahdah Hey maybe this will make it easier. Step 1: Load Song you want to chop into Edison. Step 2: find part of the song you would like to use and Highlight it red. Step 3: on the top right of Edison there is a button that looks like a cursor pointing on a piece of paper, Click this and Hold...Step 4: Drag the sample into SliceX editor which can be opened from the add channel tab or by right clicking any instrument and clicking REPLACE then SLICEX. Step 5: Step 5: select anything then hit M

  • drumkits in your c: folder.

  • @bleakbeats LOL. Yes, sometimes. (jk)

  • I saw your other video about recording your sound to fl studio, I downloaded vocodex and asio4all but asio4all show on the mixer but I can't click on it to ectivate it, please help

  • Mr. Simple. I've been using Reaper for a daw for 3 years. I like it alot, moslty for the ease of importing vst's. I was using the slicex vst demo just to get familiar with it. Now I recently bought FL studio producer for the purpose of using slicex. However I can't figure out how to open it in reaper. I do have the FL loaded and I can see it on the vst list when opening in reaper midi track. I only want slicex by itself as a vst, not the whole FL program. Any thoughts?? thanks

  • @D84D Does Reaper support Rewire? If so, then you may want to consider using that technology. Sorry for the late response.

  • @D84D You need the slices vst plugin, which is a separate purchase. You could have bought the slicex plugin if thats all you wanted, same with edison, there is a vst version as well.

  • Is it possible to take drums from kits, add effects to them(reverb,eq etc) and then save them with the effects on them?

  • @wordplay13 Yes, this is possible. You can use Edison to pretty much record ANY sound being played inside of FL Studio. The best way to do this is to add Edison to the MASTER Mixer Insert Track. You'll then notice that any and all audio playing in FL Studio will route through into the Edison instance that you've added.

  • i need help ,I cant name my marker it wont allow it can anybody tell me why? also how do you save it so I can use it in fl

  • Tres useful merci.

  • where do i find it!!!?? i cant find sliceX and nothing shows u where it is!?

  • @PictureOnSilence77 Hi, go to Channels > Add One > then find SliceX. I believe SliceX was added in version 9 (possibly 8) so make sure you are running the latest version of FL Studio.

  • This solved my problem. Thanks a lot.

  • @Hatterific Glad it helped out mang.

  • when im trying to name a part it doesnt work when i press the "m" key what shall i do?

  • @TranceDood You'll need to click the KB-INPUT option. Yours is most likely turned off. Its located at the top middle of SliceX.

  • @SampleSimple thanks now it started working

  • Nice, so im trying to sample this song and the tempo wont match my beat...

  • Can i open Fl slicex in a mixer chanel like edison.

  • @Drpegslyson edison is a "fx" plug in to be put in the effects channels. Slicex is a VST instrument to be used instrument channels. The effects channel are located in FX window and the instrument channels are always located on the sequencing window. The process here shows the Slicex being used as a loop slicing export tool which can convolute it's main function which is to assign drums sounds to a midi note. If you dont understand this VST I would recommend the fruity slicer to start with.

  • nice channel, subscribed

  • thanks for the tip but would this actually change the speed (bpm) of the sample/loop?

  • @temanyada No this is just creating simple one-shot sounds.

  • glad to know dat techi stuff dude..n thnx for sharing

  • You're welcome. Stay tuned for more!

  • Thx for this Tutorial ! ^^ and good luck for you

    /watch?v=yruNZexsRUw

  • is slice x in fl studio?

  • Yes

  • thx! :)

  • come on meow...

  • question: how do copyright laws come into play with this bomb ass tool? I just found it last week and I like using it not only for drums but the melody parts too--I've done a Haydn symphony, Brown Eyed Girl, and Country Grammar not even kidding where it's a totally new beat but sorta "reminiscent" of the old song. I'm thinkin this could be a big deal and people would like it, but again, what do you know of copyright stuff + SliceX? thanks for the video, helped last week during Discovery mode

  • Is that possible to place all of those samples in one channel? I saw something like this once. So if yes then how to do that?

  • Aah forget this.. I found the tutorial ;)

  • Glad you found it. You could drag the slices into a FL Slicer Channel then trigger the slices. I have a video for that with Edison.

  • Good to know, thanks.

  • I've done this whole thing using Edison only

  • Hi xxGLhrMxx, we've also posted a video on using Edison only. Feel free to check it out. Stay tuned for more.

  • do u know how to put all the samples in a single piano roll?

i've seen this in some examples but haven't figured out how to do it yet.

  • I'll have to check that out then get back to you.

  • can you export em to a MIDI keyboard?

  • is it possible to save the regions/markers as one wav file so when i reload it in a sampler channel and i go to piano roll that all the markers are still chopped up in the piano roll or is the only option i have is to use the fpc and load all the individual samples in that to be able to play them in piano roll

  • well done thanks

  • lets see you use that method in a project lol

  • The samples sound so shitty though, not worth it.

  • Which samples? What is not worth it?

  • koo thx big ups

  • Hi AyeImaBoss, stay tuned for more!

  • Where can I find the slice x?

  • Hi Decavgamuct00, go to Channels > Add One > SliceX. Let me know how it works out.

  • Hi, I wanted to know what screen capture software you used, as I have trouble finding one that is good plus you have cool effects in this video such as zooming onto the mouse pointer and also "text notes" that you can put into the videos. That's exactly what I am searching for.

  • Camtasia

  • yo this method is sick man thanks a whole lot for sharing........

  • Hi locutz,

You're welcome. Stay tuned for more.

  • dude if your on line still i'll like to ask a question on fl studio,,,when you do a recording it comes up as a green bar sometimes when you record stuff you might have an extra space on the green bar how do you remove the extra space so that the recording can be precise thankx

  • Hi locutz,

Do you mean when you're recording audio into FL Studio? Are you using the MICVOX template? Or are you talking about SliceX sampling? If you're on Skype we can speak directly on there. Search for Wallholder.

  • no man i mean regular midi recording the elapsed time when you stop how do you cut that extra space out thanks

  • Within the Piano Roll where you've layed down the MIDI there is a slice (Exacto Knife) icon tool that should allow you to cut that extra part. It will turn PINK, then press the delete key on your keyboard.

  • thanks man i appreciate it.....
