  • i was saying ohhhhh weeee the whole time

  • wo0ohh....Now who`s older??? whahaha

  • its true its not a travel, more like travels :)

1: when he gets the ball, he changes pivot foot.

2: as he goes for the drive, he lift his pivot foot, before he drops the ball for a dribble

  • Kobe used Ginobili's primary weapon on one-on-one penetration - behind the back dribble :)

  • dont u like seeing people fight on youtube for useless reasons lol

  • Guys we all know luke walton is the BEST

  • did he just travel?

  • to all the cunts who "know" sport

im aussie and i love basketball and we just had the aussie open (tennis) and i've realised something

djokovic is lebron, he has challengers but anyone who knows sport knowns he's the best

nadal is kd, he's young and he's getting places

federer is kobe, he was excellent in his prime, but he isnt the best anymore

andy murray is rondo, the league would be different without him

  • @HALJbroz I guess you are one of those cunts, how are you gonna compare Nadal with KD, Rafael Nadal is a 10 time Grand Slam winner with 9 years of tour experience, Kevin Durant is an amazing and young basketball player trying to win his first ring. The comparison of LeBron and Djokovic is also soo disrespectful to the Djoker, he doesnt choke on critical moments like James. If you are going to make a comparison compare Lebron to Murray, both great talents unabel to win when it counts.

  • @1690dmercado i was comparing to how they played in the australian open...

  • @1690dmercado Agreed. Comparing Djokovic to LeBron is a complete joke. Did you happen to watch the aussie final, or any tennis for that matter?

  • @HALJbroz gay

  • @WhyIsLechokeTravelin i do love penis up the bum hole, who told you?

  • Wow, beautiful!)

  • this was 4 years ago i hate how ppl still say kobe is the best in the league when he only scores 8 points in halftime, guys like kevin durant and derrick rose r doing a lot beta kobe is not the best in the nba anymore he had his time

  • @xxAzZa32xx are you retarded? Kobe is leading the league in scoring in his 16th season.

  • @Bernankeful hes not the best in the league anymore get fking real

  • @xxAzZa32xx I didn't say shit about him being the best in the league. I said he is leading the league in scoring you illiterate fuck- while you clearly stated that he fails to do so anymore. Get FUCKING real.

  • @Bernankeful i first said that kobe isnt the best in the league anymore and u said he leads the league in scoring so ur obivously trying to tell me he still is the best u illiterate fukwit u getting fking real

  • ya man u r right Allen Iverson is the best in the world

  • That move is so beautiful... oh my god

  • Im a Kobe Bryant die hard fan all my life but he traveled on this one.

After the stepback move, he landed his left foot first, making it his 'pivot' foot and you can't lift your pivot foot before you pass or shoot. The ball should leave your hands before you can lift your pivot foot.

    Just so you guys know.

  • Anybody want to know what a travel looks like? watch?v=CZA2WVOW2Pc

  • Why everyone thinks that his pivot foot was left... well, who cares... xD

P.S. Wanna' discuss travelling, go watch LeBron's plays...

  • @noopz0r what you talking about, thats not traveling... thats called the CRAB WALK

  • @noopz0r p.s. Lebron will get a Triple Double on you right now

  • @spiderman23s9 Well, I agree, playing against me is just his level of Basketball, that's just how great LeBron James is! xD

  • Nice move, NOT travel!

  • nice move

  • Traveling is like holding in football happens every play but just not seen by the officials.

  • @lancer294 So beautifully stated.

  • clearly a travel. After the behind the back move he steps back and the foot he lands on first becomes the pivot foot, if you look closely you can see his left foot clearly lands first, making that his pivot foot. He executes the move so smoothly its hard to tell he traveled.. but he did.

  • @taylordize THANK YOU!

  • @taylordize No, he didn't pickup his dribble until he was on two feet.. If you look at it. And on top of that it wouldn't have been called. Its just too fast for a ref to see it.

  • @blueAgentAj that's why i said its hard to tell cuz he executed it so smooth. while he picks up his dribble he's stepping back tho and since he picks up his dribble while he's stepping back the foot he's stepping back on will become his pivot foot. Its not that hard to see if you look closely. As a ref during game speed it would be very hard to catch. but watching the video you can tell it was indeed a travel.

  • @taylordize I don't think he travelled you said he stepped back on it, keyword stepped.. you can't step with a pivot foot. Doesn't matter anyways it was still beautiful and it wouldn't be called because of the high speed of which it happened.

  • @blueAgentAj i don't think you're reading my comment correctly

  • @taylordize I am, I was just saying I don't quick think it was a travel, because he didn't pick up his dribble at the point of which he had one foot down and one foot off the ground, he still could've dribbled at the point because he had one hand on the ball. The pivot foot had not then been established.

  • Yeah if this was a lebron video you faggots would be saying it was travel

  • @Jhoods2800 the difference is if it was lebron he would have taken an extra step or moved his pivot foot.

  • DAMN!! TRAVEL!!! move right foot

  • I Bet You That 34 Of Those Dislike Thought Kobe bryant Is Accturlly dancing On Ginobili.

  • I'm from argentina and I love manu, especially because I am also called manu but still... nobody is better than kobe right now.

  • haha manu u r foolish you forgot the hero legend of crossover my best Allen Iverson.

he crossed MJ n many more player so sorry 2 say no one can take Allen Iverson place.

  • fuckin love whenever kobe does this, its like poetry in motion...

  • Travel

  • It looks like Kobe Bryant traveled but he did not travel. I thought that Kobe Bryant traveled to but Kobe Bryant did not travel face it Kobe Bryant is the best basketball player of all time.

  • @ItsMeSpiro5 WHAT !?

  • Shut up thechido that was not a travel and if Kobe Bryant did travel on that play then the referees would have saw Kobe Bryant travel and the referees would call a trave on Kobe Bryant. You must be a Kobe hater face it Kobe Bryant is the best basketball player of all time.

  • I love Kobe Bryant he is the best basketball player of all time and for all of those haters out there that hate Kobe Bryant and think he is really bad at basketball just because he is not on your basketball team and if he was on your basketball team you guys would like Kobe Bryant well face it you haters Kobe Bryant is the best basketball player of all time.

  • this is a travel. when he does his step back he lands on his left foot first. doing so, that becomes his pivot foot. he then lifts it to step through for the layup.

  • @thechido on a stepback, the player can choose which foot will become his pivot foot. on the stepback, he decided to make his right foot his pivot foot. the he pivoted on his right foot on the step through. learn your shit

  • He travelled.after the step back, his pivot foot is the left one, but he moves it, and even makes another step wit it.

  • technically it is travelling. after a step back, you don't have a pivot foot anymore, you can't take another step. but it is really a great move.

  • How weird is it? When kobe travel, everyone say whoever say travel is wrong or whatever. When lebron travel? Even if he doesn't? People keep talking about it. Keep talking people. Oh by the way, I'm a lakers fan. Kobe did travel.

  • only Kobe!...... and who said travel is wrong

  • Americans gives travel lessons ? LOL

He never moves his pivot foot...

  • his pivot foot was the right .. he moved the left

  • its a travel its too slow to count as a two step layup and would come under a jump stop which he lands on his left foot first. he lifts his left foot (travel) to step onto his right for the lay up

  • that was sick

  • The moment when he caught the ball was when he went backwards, at that moment he had the ball, then did the two STEPS and scored .. no travelling.

  • Yeah, it was a travel. After last dribble, he was both feet in the air and settled the left foot first. Then he put right foot on the floor. The moved the left foot. Travel.

  • this was a travel

he did move his right foot...

5 steps without dribbling the ball lol

  • i almost have 70 subs, yay lol! wanna help me out?? thanks and sorry alleyxcat!

  • Schrittfehler...glasklar!

  • oh man that was dirty

  • Ginobili better than Kobe? hahahahahahahahahaha...

  • haha kobe he never does this. Ginobili is a much better player

  • @fLcGambit arent you watching the video? dumb fuck he clearly did it

  • This was a travel... when he caught the ball...

  • nice walk

  • Kobe's a boss. A dancing boss.

  • haha ya its a travel. Its not a travel cause he took to many steps or he moved his pivot. its a travel because he used the wrong pivot foot. When he does his step back, his left lands first, making it his pivot foot. But its all good cause Kobe is beast.

  • Definitely a travel, still nice thou

  • the whole time i was trying to get rid of the ad. fuck youtube

  • Kobe really likes to dance...:D

  • pivot foot dumb asses. -.- all those of you who dont have a good basic cant do this move. so fuck off.

  • @Khor10ZiQin ur the dumb ass, when he stepped back, its left - right. so, his left foot is his pivot foot.

and this is the definition of travelling from wikipedia

"In basketball, traveling is a violation of the rules that occurs when a player holding the ball illegally moves one or both of his feet. Most commonly, a player travels by illegally moving his pivot foot or taking too many steps without dribbling the ball."

  • @PaunkAlamanda yeah did he move his pivot foot? his pivot foot was set. and i bet you dont know what pivot foot means. go back and learn your basics. -.-

  • @Khor10ZiQin catch the ball mid air, then drop with left - right. then, he moved his left foot, which is illegal.

  • @PaunkAlamanda pivot foot is his right foot not left foot and when did he catch the ball in mid air? Is that the pump fake you are talking about?

  • @Khor10ZiQin I doubt you could either haha. Or make it look anywhere nearly as smooth.

  • @ahmad312 then stop hatin and start sharing. :) world peace

  • @Khor10ZiQin simple as ... ILLEGAL SHUFFLING hows that for a reason ??

  • @Khor10ZiQin lol his left foot was his pivot foot and he moved it to makes his move, therefore its a travel...dumbass

  • How is that a travel? He never moves his pivot foot

  • @STILLNOTFAMOUS777 how is that NOT a travel? when kobe step backs, his left foot is his pivot foot. Then as he pump faked he got off his PIVOT foot to his right. Travel.

  • @sleewhatsgood no, when he step backs his RIGHT foot is his pivot foot. Pay attention that he didnt moved his right foot, than he punk faked with the right foot in same place... Jumped and made it. No travelling, just clear and awesome

  • @CkBalantines its not punk fake its PUMP FAKE

  • @MrcGabREl HAUHAUHUAHUAUHAUH. Sry my bad.

  • @sleewhatsgood his left foot wasn't his pivot foot. on stepbacks, the player chooses which foot is his pivot foot. he chose his right foot.

  • @sleewhatsgood his right foot is his pivot foot

  • @STILLNOTFAMOUS777

The step-back left foot was his pivot foot, so it was clearly a travel.

  • @STILLNOTFAMOUS777 he traveled...you'll be okay

  • @STILLNOTFAMOUS777 Wait... you're serious? he jumps back changes his pivot foot from ball to heel (illegal) and then run forward... gees man I love Kobe but learn what a pivot foot is

  • @STILLNOTFAMOUS777 seriously dude? when kobe goes for the step back his pivot foot is his left foot. He then gets off that PIVOT foot, and jumps off his right foot. Thats a travel my friend. Im a kobe fan but thats a travel my friend

  • @sleewhatsgood he doesn't jump off his right foot. are we watching the same video?!

  • @VANLE3 sorry i meant he gets off his left (pivot foot) to his right, still a travel.

  • @sleewhatsgood his left foot never was his pivot foot, from what i've seen here. maybe i'm wrong but at the time he takes the ball with both hands, his right foot is his pivot foot and it stays that way. therefore it's not a travel.

and looking at our arguments, it's hard to blame the refs for not calling it, since they don't have all the reviews that we have

  • and they say lebron travels....

  • TRAVEL! MAN! He literally danced on the floor. >(

  • definately a travel, but NBA is about highlights, so they didnt call it

  • Geez, kobe traveled all the way to china on that one.

  • yeah its sort of travel but who cares? its nba

  • SICK MOVE

  • Sweeet combo:

    - triple threat

    - dribble penetration

    - around the back

    - step back

    - pump fake

    - finish

  • travelled...

  • travel

  • It was travel cuz when he pulled back.. he moved his right foot from where it was before. but yeah.. I can see, where people are saying his left foot landed first.. which would make it a travel..

  • It was travel cuz when he pulled back.. he moved his right foot from where it was before.

  • Very nice move but actually a travel right from when he received the ball...but again, an amazing move!

  • I jus watched two videos of kobe and he travelled in both. But i guess all you fuckers can only see it in Lebron videos. Or at least make that one joke n hope to get top comment. And it's ridiculous how on this vid the top two comments are sayin he didnt travel.

  • hey ppl.. when u are DRIBBLING the ball and u HOLD the ball, THE FIRST STEP u take will be your PIVOT FOOT, so he traveled, period

  • @eplaehn hypocrite

  • He did travel he lifted his left then right then left thats 3

  • Another thing: before he started dribbling, he couldn't have moved his left foot.

NBA: where it's no travel happens.

  • Take a basketball rules' book and check, but...

It was travelling... Men if you all played basketball try it yourselves... since you jump back, the first foot to take floor is your pivot.

I'm not a kobe hater, i just hate people who get blind for loving kobe. He was, is and will always be one of the top five best players.

  • his left foot was on the floor first when he jumped back, so it was indeed a travel

  • Lmao he makes a step back with his right, Lands on his left pulls his right nex to his left food and then makes a rocket step with left. Obvious travel

  • Travel in everywhere in the word exect USA.

    He travel two times ..

  • actually he grounded his both legs and THEN pump faked NO TRAVEL KOBE HATERZ!!!!!

  • in europe that would be a travel...but this is nba so no travel called .

  • @elvisnation1 In Europe and in the US you would still be a hater so STFU.

  • @nitotech don't understand why you think i'm a hater...i'm a kobe fan and manu's fan. I'm just being real, don't know what's you'r problem.

  • Watch this, Lebron tries to imitate Kobe but he did 4 steps instead of 3. XD watch?v=CZA2WVOW2Pc&feature=related

  • Kobe did not travel, his right foot moved back barely an inch.

  • I am Virtus Bologna's fan and thinkin' that also Kobe is close to play in the same Manu's Italian club ....I am going to be crazy!!! The white and the black mamba played for 'V nere' It will be an amazing dreammmm

    Go Manu Go Kobe

  • i don't understand why everybody thinks that he didn't travel. if he moves his right foot, then his left foot is the pivot. if he moves his left foot, his right foot is the pivot. he moves them both, so its travel you stupid people who think they know enything about basketball. jeez

  • you can't guard this

  • btw wasnt a travel the important key is the right foot.. slips a little bit but thats normal, not a travel, that's a Jordan' classic move...

  • that was beauty

  • im from argentina, so im a huge fan of ginobilli, but im also a laker's fan. and i have to say, that both of them are great players!

  • We've got alot of internet referees out there ...

  • Hate to say it but it was a travel. He stepped back and picked up the ball on his left foot and then switched to the right foot as he up and under Ginobli. Granted, it isn't as bad as a Lebron travel

  • Damn! Kobe did a Lebron! A Fucking Epic travel! This video didn't show me Kobe dancing on Manu. It showed that you need to travel to get past Manu's defense instead.

  • @Deecee022 Wasn't a travel... sigh lol he jumped back moved his left foot which made his right foot his pivot, his pivot food changed like 45 degrees still legal. and then went straight again as he caught manu in mid air and walked past him.

  • @Deecee022 haha, this made my day

  • Music to my eyes.

  • jajajajaja eso vale madre manu la ha hecho mas bailes cross grove caños de todo a ese negro pibes

  • He made Ginobli look stupid LOL!

  • that was crazy

  • TANGO!!

  • That was a sweet ass move but his feet do shuffle a bit. once he stops and pump fakes. A slight travel but it's Kobe so he can do as he wants. ;)

  • In 00:05he didnt jump on 2 feet at once but on left foot first so left foot is the pivot foot - it means travel. Nevertheless it's still awesome - genius

  • I liked the move...if only reavelling were legal. Sigh

  • Thats a good basketball move. Refs wouldnt call it because of the hop back and the step through. AS yall seen he never established a pivot foot and once he did he already step through and jumped off both his feet. I liked it I dont think the league would call that travel

  • all skillz

  • Lebron James can do that! If there is no traveling violation in the NBA lol

  • no travel. i guarantee it. 100%

at 0:06 his left leg is his pivot foot..then he jumps straight up off both feet..that simple..no travel. he didnt pick up his other leg he only pivoted(moved){one} his (left) leg when he picked up his dribble then went straight up..no travel

  • TRAVEL. But brilliant move nonetheless.

  • It is a travel... I'm a Laker and Kobe fan, believe me, but it is a travel. If you can't see it, just count steps slowly.

  • @franmag7 His right was his pivot foot he took only 2 steps with his left no travel.

  • @2face15 Ok, it's very close, that's true. Right now, I think it's just a matter of counting the first step with his right leg as an actual step or not. What I see is: after he's no longer bouncing the ball, he takes one step with the right (while the left is in the air). Then he takes one with the left (while the right is in the air). That is two steps. Then he puts down the right again (ok up to that point) and then he lifts his left foot for the final third step. It is close though...

  • @franmag7 What I see is when he stops dribbling he comes down on his left and sets his right foot down (Pivot foot). From there all he does is shift his foot it doesnt come up he just shifts it and then just follows through with his left which he takes off with.

  • @2face15 That's exactly what I meant. I see the first step with the right foot as the first step of the "stepping phase". You see that step as the last step of the "bouncing phase". (Hope that makes sense XD)

Still, if I had been the official of that match, I'm sure I wouldn't have called it a travel. It all happens too fast. Even for Ginobili XD.

  • Lebron travelled

  • Guard that!

  • it's clear travel

  • he is the black God.

  • He travelled before he dribbled

  • FUCKIN TRAVEL! but if you look closely, Lebron is traveling too.

  • ITS A TRAVEL. He does a step back and establishes his left pivot foot by stepping on it first. He shuffles both feet (automatic travel) and then steps with his left. Looked real pretty though.

  • @tkwtg perfect explanation.

  • @tkwtg He lands on both feet at the same time.

  • @jfh06d um no he doesnt not at all. watch it again :5 definitely left foot first. then he shuffles his feet (undeniably) and steps with his left. done end of story

  • @tkwtg He took a step back it's true, but without the ball (the ball was free: in the air)

When Kobe took the ball after step back, his left foot and right was immobile (0:05) and has been for me a dribling off so he can move his left foot or right using the other foot as pivot after that without a travel.

If the same action was done with the step back with the ball in his hands it would have had a travel.

  • @zamine81 true, but he landed on his left foot foot first. watch it again. by stepping on it first, that makes it a pivot foot. he stepped with his pivot, therefore, travel. plus he shuffled both feet which makes it a travel even it he would've landed with his right.

  • @tkwtg I downloaded the video and I viewed it at low speed using VLC, and finally you are right, he had the ball in hand when his left foot touched the ground and It has therefore become a pivot so the second part movement is just a nice big travel.

The thing in a movement like this is timing, when you dribble the ball and as long did not return to your hand, you can make two or three steps, jump or do any other movement before the ball returns to your hand.
