I am a amputee x 2 left leg, left arm: As far as starring, well I really love children because they aren't afraid to look. I get pissed at the parents who scold their kids and advert the childs eye's away. It's perfectible aright to look, at least for me... If you were to see a picture of me, you would realize, "I'm all right" though, hehe.. get it? hint, left leg, left arm!

i agree i am a T12 para and parents get soo mad when kids are curios as to why i am sitting down or want to touch my chair LOL so i completely agree

Adman1048, I also am vet and the VA approved mine many years ago and Hanger is who made my socket. I have many perfect fitting sockets, but my last one needs tweaking at the top front of my socket. The last few were duplicates from about 3 legs ago and have been, (minus the tweak I speak of) great. Hang in there and don't settle for less then comfortable fit... I've had mine done in Iowa, where about are you working with Hanger? Good luck!

i am an above the knee amputee and wants to live a normal life and work fully. when you loose a leg you are surley traumatised when you look at your leg and its gone, but after a while do you get use to it? like 100%?

Hi - no, not really - sometimes i jump out of bed and fall cos it feels like its still there and i lost my leg 30 years ago.

@treborif well atleast im not alone i think all leg amputees have done that at one point or another including me but tryin to keep it to a minimum the shyt hurts when u jump up 2 go to the bathroom or something and end up with a really close up view of the floor.i got my carpet texture memorized at by now

After 8yrs the VA just approved my new C-leg. Already got it but having trouble with the suction socket. I like my old one better. Gonna have Hanger make me one like it. Then....I'll be happy.

well have you ever thought for a moment that some people are curious or find amputees interesting? curiosity ain't rude. finding something personally fascinating shouldn't be disrespectful. when i see an amputee i can't help but to look at the stump. they are amazing.

the c leg costs $40,000 and some insurances would not pay for it. My husband is an above knee amputee since 1995 he was just approved for the c leg last week!
