To Buff00 ~ I appreciate the time and thought you put into this video. Speaking for myself, what we get in the US is so slanted. We are shown the evil Muslim leaders and I know, I have always know HE & THEM, they do not Represent The People of Iran (the majority). I will pass this on .. I had no idea that the "protest" was so HUGE. It has given me hope. Sigh. I do hope you they will NEVER GIVE UP on their FREEDOM . Thank you.
@BumblingGenius Hi! This is a great video isn't it? As I understand it the video was actually created by Mike Scott, his wife and Ian Barrett . I thought the opening succeeded in catching you as if you had no information about what the video was about, that initial opening you could be getting a St Patricks day celebration... the green covering both countries and their struggle for freedom very very powerful video.
Very nice ,we loved the song and singer, the owner of earth, sky, stars and all univers is behind humanity and loves who love the world ,peace to you all
I am in tears. Such powerful words and such a great music. Thanks so much Waterboys for this. Today, November 4, the young and brave new generation in Iran by taking to the streets proved once again that they deserve freedom and they will get it!
Very moving, about those full of hope and thirst for justice over whom there is at this moment a pall of silence, but they w i l l persist and achieve
To those in Iran that say that the protesters are influenced by Americans, it is just the opposite. These brave Iranian freedom fighters are an inspiration to all of us here in the US.
I love how a band can still make thought-provoking and relevant music about what is happening in the world - and in this instance by combing the words of two WB Yeats poems. Thank you Mike and the Waterboys.
Perfect song... powerful images... courageous and beautiful people. What a stupid world we live in! This shames that world though.
The insightful American commentator Ambrose Bierce once defined inhumanity as 'one of the signal and characteristic qualities of humanity'. Sadly, he was - and is - right. Here though, is another quality many have: the resolve and the courage to stand up and be counted, killed even, in the struggle for what is right.
This is so moving and humbling to see , very powerful video. These courageous people put me to shame, We often take our vote's for granted in the U.K because we can't be bothered sometimes .Perfect music , often it's the music punctuating the images that make them indelible in ones mind, and this has done it. Stunning!!.
As others have said repeatedly before me, this is a powerful, moving, haunting video that is both extremely sad and inspirational. Mike's vocals are beautiful and Ian did a fine job of editing. His choice for the last photo was a particularly strong one as that image stays with you for quite some time.
How often, when we read the news, do we just look but don't really see what is happening before our eyes. The demonstrators show us that there are so many good people who are still struggling just simply to be heard. We must listen to them and not just hear them.
Beautiful tune, and a great video comp as well. Those people deserve an answer. Were the results of their election rigged or tampered with? They certainly deserve to find out. My prayers go out to them.
The streets are red with innocent blood of those only asking for Freedom while Americans and others blabber on about a child molestor. Obama could care less. Disgusting.
and i hope that anyone who watched the youtube video of Neda dying (which i could not bear to watch) should remember that her death was not filmed at great risk for the purpose of voyeuristic entertainment, but for the world to witness what is happening in Iran, AND, most importantly, do something about it.
it is a long way to the light, but with our help Iran can get there......
Thank you Mike and friends. This is one among many other countries suffering horrors. Somalia, Sri Lanka, Tibet, just to name a few... People need to be aware. Thank you from bringing that awareness.
This was so absolutely beautiful. Perhaps now the world will come to the conclusion that Iranians are peacefull, educated, and they love the rest of the human race. If one does not see God in another human being's eyes, one will not find God anywhere else.
Thank you for this very sad & moving video. The world is watching. Were all witnesses to the Iranian regimes horrific atrocities. Long live free Iran! Long live the courageous people of Iran.
The words are those of the wonderful Irish literary genius that is W.B Yates.

I'm always baffled when I see what some people think they can do to others..
And I always wonder why they seem forget that the spirit always wins.

LET THE EARTH BEAR WITNESS words by W.B. Yeats
They shall be remembered for ever
They shall be alive for ever
They shall be speaking for ever
The people shall hear them for ever

Let the wind bear witness
Let the earth bear witness
Let the stars bear witness

We should ALL care, and feel alarmed at the apparent apathy of those who are in "Power". Are they ALL merely the Fly-swatting Brigade ?
