Now rich and fat couch pototoes are going to get into surfing. Once the genie is out of the box, there is nothing that is going to stop these jet powered surfboards from hitting the water in Waikiki, Snappers, Malibu and Pipeline. Welcome to the rat race
They were not invented to take over or even with surfing in any way. They are for the outer breaks or where there are no surfers or simply for flat water like lakes and bays. Engineers are always working on ways to make them lighter and cleaner.
Looks like fun. You can create the feel of a bottom turn on flat water. However surfing to me, as well as many others, is about the art of moving WITH the waves. To feel the power of the ocean, study and feel the waves and manouver yourself to stay with it takes skill and soul. I wouldn't compare riding one of these vehicles to surfing at all (and obviously wouldn't want to see them on breaks with surfers on them), but they are a big step up from jet skis and would get you buzzing for sure
thats the magic with these toys 7ftmako you can find your own break and not bother with a pack of dickheads all fighting over the one wave at your break .you must be very lucky to own your break. do you let other people surf your break?i do agree with you the videos of these machines in the surf are a bit ordinary.if you know how to surf and use the power of a jetboard you can rip the shit out of waves. if these machines used hydrogen for fuel i would give them the thumbs up.powerskis polute.
@2karriizman I dont own my own break as such (unfortunately,) but do own the only land access to the break, but I am not greedy and any1 is welcome (If you can find it.) I see your point in terms of discovery of new breaks and agree if these things can be mastered maybe even eventually scaled down in size they would be endless fun-in the right settings!
@powerskijetboard looks cool, looks fun, but even if you dont take em in waves other people will, "were can I rent one in hawaii" thats just sad. make it so they dont work in surf, you would be doing future surfers a solid.
do you need a boating licence? or a pwc licence?

Garbage!!! Shouldn't be compared to surfing or talked about in the same conversation. Jet ski/powerski/waverunner etc. They all belong on the lake.

Great commercial, I like where the jet surfer kicks the jetski dude off his ski. Pretty strong marketing right there. Love it.

looks shit in the waves, stick to lakes and rivers POWERSKI- dont bring those to my break.

I'm a surfer too and we never promote taking them into surf breaks with surfers. Outer reefs, unmanned breaks and such.
