  • There is also a Keighley there

  • Very nice to riding elevator hm! Awesome to vid!!!

  • It would be more funny if it was Dingleberries of Bournemouth :)

  • You may be refering to compensateing chains, that hang between the car and counterwaight thease are fitted to compensate for waight of suspension ropes as the car travels from top to bottom the waight of the ropes would be out of balence between car and counterwaight being shorter one side and longer the other side at terminal floors so chains keep the waight equal in the lenth of its travel

  • I've noticed in this shaft, as well in other shafts, along with the cables running from car top to counterweight is a chain running down on one side of the shaft. Always wondered what purpose the chain serves. Any elevator experts know?

  • @ATITANIC1992 Going to remove your comment as don't want my son reading the F word.

  • @mrmattandmrchay it just hit me hard to see a modern elevator in and old shaft.

  • very nice. I have never seen what an old Otis lift shaft looks like before.

  • nice vid!

  • A great find.

    Old doors.

    New buttons.

    Thank you a great video!

  • Very Rare find, especially in a shop like that

  • Glad to see this lift's still there! Although it's shame to see the buttons have been modernised. Brings back lots of memories of holidays to Dorset this one does.
