I'm only a armchair pilot being a Sim Buff (Propeller-head). However I would like to invite a qualified pilot to give his or her opinion on the induced muti roll/spin shown in this clip. It looks a little hairy. The aircraft seems to be a French Airforce Dassault /Dornier Alpha two seater Trainer used in first section of this film.
Visual shock waves can be seen however at this low level with the thick air was the sound barrier truly broken? What does it matter great filming & music. Rock n Roll.
The 2 fast jet aircraft used in the low level sound barrier pass look like Dassault Mirage 2000 perhaps C's of the French Airforce. Wonderful footage.
@olivinator That depends on altitude, not speed. However, they are more likely to wear it at lower altitudes too, because it also housed the comunication system.
