that was an S model. It had to be. Even an automatic h23 is faster than that, much faster. My 5 speed h23 with just a catback beats an automatic cobalt coupe by about 8 car lengths, and I shut off at 75. The S would have that type of outcome, a close race, due to its 135hp.

lol I have a h22a in my lude now and I'm running mid 14's aka SS times lol My neighbor has had an lt model automatic I believe I don't know exactly, but I pulled at least a bus to 75 like I said before, a year before. S/c SS's I can beat but if they are modded I'll loose to them with my h22a. Needless to say the turbo ones blow my doors off too. For the money they really are great cars

oh yeah check "explorer vs prelude" we organized it and i paid 3k for my explorer and the v8 wins everytime especialy at MISSION RACEWAY TRACK hahaha its a fact the higher HP and torque the faster it goes go to a racetrack to determine a vtec quartermile the stock v6 mustang has a faster quarter mile by 0.1second and the v8 mustangs well....ouch
