i don't know if Van Halen could even pull off that ending solo riff. that must of been insane to hear on his amp knowing he made that shit come out of it.
He's absolutely right. I've only been playing for 22 years (har har), but I can attest to the fact that those are the chords of the main riff in that section. (If you are writing it as if the guitar is tuned standard. The guitar is actually tuned a half-step down to Eb so maybe that's where the miscommunication is.)
I absolutely LOVE and have always loved this song and a few others by Ratt, but I feel that Warren DeMartini is a pompous ass...and these guys are kinda one-hit wonders.

You son of a bitch. I love the final lead line in this tune, better than the first mostly, but it's really hard to hear in the mix. Out of the mix, It kinda sounds like I thought it would, but better. It's great hearing all the nuances, approach, clicks and pops. Great example of his tasteful style.
@goodnameishere Good ear. All of these songs use a variation of the standard rock "power chord" to add a little flavor and movement. I believe the chord is a sus4 that, for accent, has some pull-offs of the 4th to alternate between the sus4 and standard major chord.
If you play guitar, theory wise it would make sense, especially for this decade in music when people like Van Halen and Ratt's Warren Demartini would use Major 7 Chords.
@toxicdooney Eddie Van Halen never used maj7 chords in the bulk of a song; he thought that with the "brown" tone that he was using it just didn't sound right. And the inro riff to this song is E, Emin7, D, Dsus4, C . . . etc.

Trust me, I've played for nearly 30 years and actually have Ratt's "Out of the Cellar" and most all of Van Halen's albums on vinyl.
Hey,Man.I've noticed you do great work with isolating tracks and make EXCELLENT backing tracks.I saw that you did a guitar track for "Inside the Fire",and I was wondering if you could make a backing track for it because I am looking for one with the rhythm guitar, drums, bass, and vocals so that I can use it for a cover I and for a few talent shows here in town.It would be HIGHLY appreciated. Thanks ahead of time.
Sorry, I couldn't send you a personal message, but, could you make a Fade to Black track with just the Drums and Bass? No vocals or lead guitar. I guess it would be nice to have the Rhythm guitar during the solo.
Hard pressed to pick the tastiest player:
DeMartini or Lynch?

I defy anyone to sit through this entire song without playing one lick on air guitar.

Shout out to Ratt !... I dont even listen to this kinda shit but this clip is on repeat for some reason...

@bplemings You're telling me that at 0:12 - 0:13 the chords could either be E, Emin7, D, Dsus4, C.
I do not care how long you have been playing but those are not all the correct chords.

Looking at this picture, they WERE good looking guys in their prime. Nice riff too, that dissonant twang to it is all Mr. DeMartini's.

As far as I am concerned the guitar track here was a big part defining guitar in the 80s... along with Schenker, Eddie and Rhodes...

Is it just me, or does the opening riff sound like "Panama" and "Unchained" in the verse?

@goodnameishere I thought that too! and the part at 1:00 is also very similar to the part right before the chorus in Panama
