Interesting. I've been in the elev. business for 25 years and that's the first time I've seen a unit with a window in the floor. Who did the install on this?

Interesting rope setup. Looks like the rope is attached at the top of the shaft, then slung under the cab, looped onto the machine sheath and then attached to the counterweight on the other side. It's a big departure from systems which have freely moving ropes.

Yes it is. This way the motor can turn the ropes easier and doesn't require as much power as if it was directly attached, but in this new system, the cart moves twice as slow then if the ropes were directly attached.
