WTF this comparison sucks! You didn't even speak about the multitasking on the iPhone or rather that the apps are running in a suspended mode which you can't call multi-tasking! Apple's multi-tasking is now where android was 5 years ago :s They can't even multitask!
Android ftw web is stupid in my Mind correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't that but fuck your data I have a gegabite of data and I use it alot Iv never went over but watev but if it's constantly downloading the software idk
The HTC Thunderbolt Suffers from bad battery life because of LTE and The Small 1400 sized battery Combination, I know this because I have one And without LTE I can easily make it through a day. as far as crashing, every operating system has its moments I've had to press power and home button plenty of times on my iPhone to unfreeze it
You know you can swap between your open Android Apps by pressing and holding the home button until it vibrates twice. Android does have good multitasking, I use it all the time.
why wasent the blackberry torch in this ? i just like to add that the blackberry OS has a better mulitasker then three of these phones , but webOS is just a lil better with the cards .
@CannibalTr0ll only if you install ALOT of things or clutter your os which tends to slow any operating system down. I have Cydia with a lot of tweaks, my phone works perfectly
@CannibalTr0ll i prefer the iphone over android, its more complete and the user interface is a lot sleep and user friendly compared to android. Jailbreak only adds to the functionality and user friendlessness of the phone which is why i prefer it.
@rza1m Android is better for me. Better notification system, better features, better lockscreen, no need for jailbreaking, no slowness of jailbreaking, no limited packaging, and the hardware it comes with is generally better. (like the thunderbolt for example).
What about that terrible battery power for the Thunderbolt? heres what you need to learn. hardware makes much less of a difference in performance than what most people think. what makes a difference. is the fact that the Software (OS) is optimized for the hardware. an example Apple builds most of its hardware. and they optimize there OS "for" the hardware for faster easier experience for the user. with android, you never know if itll crash on you or not. with iOS crashing isnt going to happen.
@TheTrueTechCentury there is need for widgets, if you think im wrong go ask a bunch of people. You already have instant notification on your pre and itouch you know o_O the itouch gives a pop up as the pre gives a icon and message at the bottem, ifanboy.
@TheTrueTechCentury on the motrolla xoom youre saying a 1MP camera for the motorolla xoom will kill te motorlla xoom and you are a fan boy saying as your whole channel has applefnaboy written over it
@TheTrueTechCentury whats funny is I checked your channel and all it has uploaded is apple stuff o_o and also on the morotolla xoom u commented the ipad2 will own it all if you ask me you are a ifanboy and you cant prove youre not :D
@TheTrueTechCentury For the last time i said the UI was boring o_o Android at least have widgets and from what I know the iphone is failing to android
webOS and Android all the way, boring iphone UI annoys me if they get a better one maybe itd try it, this feb 2011 hp palm will kill all iphones its only competatory is android
Good video. Typical outcome, WebOS is probably the best overall OS, but on the worst hardware. Android is the most customizable, but with good but generally bulky hardware, and IOS4 is good, but simple on the tried and true iPhone.
I love my Pre Plus for its OS. This guy didn't have time to give a true representation of all three, but each have great selling points.
How can you even say ios has multitasking all ios has is a history for which apps you have opened the apps do not open on demand they have to load when you open them from their so called "multitasking" any ios user knows this and their deep down pissed about it like me I was so mad I went out and bought an android phone
My Opinions: Multitasking 1st WebOS 2nd iOS 3rd Android Customization 1st Android 2nd WebOS 3rd iOS Ease Of Use 1st WebOS 2nd iOS 3rd Android Style 1st WebOS 2nd Android 3rd iOS Apps 1st Android (80,000 apps but of better quality than iOS) 2nd WebOS (6,000 apps but with the best quality by far out of them all) 3rd iOS (300,000 apps but most costing alot and not that good quality of apps) Web Browsing 1st iOS 2nd WebOS 3rd Android Overall The Best System 1st WebOS 2nd Android 3rd iOS
WebOS is just as open and customizable as Android. It has the most potential of these mobile OS's but lacks market power because its not backed by Apple or Google. That might have improved when HP acquired Palm but has yet to be seen. New WebOS 2.0 and new hardware (smart phones and touchpad) are scheduled for release in "early 2011" which should tell us if this OS has a future or not.
Y'know, you can go into settings and turn off the screen dimming feature for your videos. Then they'll all stay on the whole video. Just saying. You seemed to spend a lot fo time keeping them from timing out. ;)
@Priscilla060 I agree, webOS is king. My wife has android 2.1, i like all the stuff i can do with it, but EVERYTHING requir so many steps. And not to mention a monthly reset if you have one, she loved it at first now she is dieing to get rid of it.
@2008PS3 kinda stupid 2 say that wen android is known 4 its multitaskin lol iphones "multitaskin" isn't real its close but stil not but I agree web OS is quite nice stil I'd say android is #1 on that
regarding multitasking demo: You opened apps in webOS and showed how to close apps in iOS and didn't even show the task manager or opening or closing apps in android. Slightly fail... but thanks for not bashing webOS I use it! :)
I think that the iOS and webOS handle multitasking incredibly well, as it does not really create a GIANT slow down.
I'm not sure about the other two devices, but the multitasking on the iPhone 4 is phenomenal, because of it's large amount of RAM. CPU has almost nothing to do with it. The app stays "hanging in the memory", and the code is no longer running through the CPU, thus decreasing lag. It's efficient. RAM usage does not slow down your iPhone; CPU usage does.
Android handles multitasking incredibly well, especially on top end devices where RAM isn't an issue.
Android takes the burden of closing apps out of the users hands by automating the whole process; if memory is running low it'll close which ever process is deemed to be lowest priority. I think it might even save the state to internal memory so it picks up where you left off. It's a pretty seamless experience overall.
That said, I'd kill for the Web OS card interface.
web os best waiting for pre 2 sick of android phones coming out and my pre getting rape lol i was just kidding i just like web os and im waiting for the pre 2
@gaintshark I didn't really go into that much depth on any operating system in terms of multitasking, this was more to show in general how multitasking is done on all three.
@BrantheTechman well my problem is there are tons of people showing how multitasking is done on android but dont even show that if you push and hold a home button recent apps come up and I have a feeling that some people might be confused especially since all you when over is the fact that it doesn't come built in with a task killer
@gaintshark Yes you can see recent apps but in order to actually close them you must go into to settings and then manage applications which is an annoyance. Thus to solve that gap you must download an advanced task killer, while Web OS and even IOS4 has a way to manage and close applications that is easily accessible. Android is a great operating system but I just feel that some things should be easier than they are.
@BrantheTechman also android is the only mobile operating system that kills applications by its self to when it needs more ram. (unless you want to tell me otherwise)
@BrantheTechman the neat thing about android is that it can mimik the multitasking of any phone out there (except maybe not the palm pre card system with live screenshots) because the development environment allows access to key UI features and allows a developer to overlay apps on top of other apps etc
@2008PS3 How so, considering iOS's multitasking is near crap because for most apps its not actual multitasking and on anything other than an iPhone4 it causes it to freeze none stop if you don't close all the apps. Now am not saying webOS is bad in fact I love it the only problem is I hate all the phones that use it. I have used an iPhone for 2 years and a iPhone 3gs for another 1 plus I've had the first and third generation iPod Touch, but to be honest I would go with my Nexus One any day.
Urm, if what u mean by multitasking is turning off apps currently used, Android does it for you automatically. That is smarter. Task killers are not needed IF android apps are written correctly. The problem today is not Android OS but the developers not good at developing the apps yet. If multitasking is meant as seeing your recently used apps, just press and hold the menu key. I think Android multitasking was not covered properly.
@axlcrush Yes, but at the core of the operating system some built in applications and almost all third party applications must be closed by the user by going into settings and then manage applications. But your right that most of that has to do with developers. However even though it is not directly related to the Android operating system, it is still something most users have to deal with if they want to both save battery life and use third party applications.
