I've been trying to track down some info on an old RR Yardbull legend from way back named "Winchester Pete". He supposedly guarded the Rail Road Yards at Carbondale Illinois back in the days of the Great Depression. At that time there were loads of hobo's about hitching free rides on the US trains. Well Winchester Pete so the story goes first shot and asked quetions later. Anybody out there who knows about this legend ?

The video was just okay but it sparked my interest in finding out if the book was any good. I purchased a copy and was captivated by the story, couldn't put the book down.
The video is just a funny way to promote the book. The book is a well-written story of how a yard bull (railroad cop) deals with thugs and homeless people on a daily basis. His faith in God grows despite facing a personal tragedy. Great insights into this little known profession and some parts are funny too! I thoroughly enjoyed the book, which is WAY better than the video!!
But the book and loved it. Video doesn't do it justice and all the negative comments on here are from those would don't understand the job.
The book is also a powerful reminder of gun safety. My condolences
