even though i was in torment listening to the audio, the majesty of the video kept me watching despite that for the whole 7+ minutes. this is an excellent train vid, unhurried and inviting. next time i'll watch it muted with a classic rock soundtrack....LOL, gotta find something that clocks in at around 7 minutes first. FREE BIRD is too darn long, drat.

i remeber when i used to live in salem we whould always go to grocery outlet and get groceries, but the tracks were right across the street and when a PNWR train came it whould shake the whole store it was actully really cool.

I love Front Street trains since you can drive right beside them. If I have a passenger who hasn't experienced a train on Front, I love to take them there and drive as if all is normal. Some passengers wish they were somewhere else! ;-)) Front Street trains usually have their share of grafetti. The one at 1:15 is quite amazing! I rarely see a FULL-SIDE mural!! How many cans of spray paint AND time did THAT take?!? Some truly fine artists -- albeit misguided. // Thanks for a good one!

i doubt it would be too big a deal because it cant just suddenly slow down, but then i still understand why it would be dangerous. there are actually quite a few places in america like this where tracks run down the middle of the road...

I thought it was the weirdest thing too when I first saw the combination. But, technically known as street running, this was quite common in many places around the country. Many of those places have disappeared, probably due to traffic risks. I'm glad they still do it in certain places.

That's funny in the city of Anaheim, Ca. there's a similar amalgamated road parallel track configuration and the cars pass right along the freight trains in operation. Anyhow, nice Nathan and nice freight load. Oregon is a beautiful state full of esoteric beauty!!
