  • 台灣人心聲

  • With Hayley's beautiful voice, it's quite puzzled of not knowing about this song's lyrics. It's sung in Min Nan Chinese (Taiwanese) which I don't speak. Fortunately the lyrics are written in Classical Chinese which I comprehend. It comes up four verses as below. The characters in bracket are kind of variations. But I ain't sure which one's right !!?

  • @ngfsfpl Hi! you know, the Taiwanese language doesn't have exact word for writing. they borrow Mandarin words for writing but some pronunciations are different.

This case, characters in bracket are correct for pronunciation only.

I can speak Taiwanese well. It's so amazing, if you follow these four verses above, Hayley's Taiwanese pronunciation is so exact and clear. What a awesome language talent on her! XD

  • @mingchunlin Thank you for your advice. But saying the written form of Chinese as Mandarin is like a Chinese idiom "指鹿為馬 Calling a deer as a horse" There's nowhere to find a proper English translation to those verses. As I've mentioned, the lyrics are in classical Han Chinese (古漢語文) which isn't so difficult to translate into English that I'd like to attempt.

  • love this song!!

  • Such a beautiful song. So fortunate to be able to listen to her singing this song. Your iPod Touch was amazing.

  • @wizbird1 I never did this by iPod Touch. So, quite surprised it really works. :D Also, sound quality is better than what I expected. And thanks to visit my blog. :DD (I saw your avatar on the visitor list of my blog)

  • My wife, son & me went to the concert, and we enjoyed a wonderful night with Hayley's nice heartfelt performance. You can imagine how hard we clapped our hands especially after she sang out this beautiful yet sentimental song in such amazing accurate pronunciation - though we already learnt from "The moon represents my heart" that Hayley takes expanding her repertoire on foreign songs very seriously. Needless to say, she won again love from all the audience & we'll love to see her more here!

  • I was at the concert that night and was truly touched by Hayley's rendition of the famous Taiwanese song. Hope she wil have another concert in Kaohsiung soon!

  • Thank you for sharing this with us so soon after the concert.

  • 感謝分享,讓無緣到現場的我也能見證這美聲傳奇的一刻! Thanks a lot for sharing this fabulous song :)

  • I've not heard this song for a very long time and forgotten its tunes. Surely I did not like this song before. But under the sounds of Hayley's singing voice and this orchestra, it is so quite extraordinary. So refreshing! Agreeably, this song should be included in Hayley's future album.

  • @ngfsfpl It's a pity that she didn't record neither "The Moon Represents My Heart" nor this "Flowers in the Rainy Night" in her studio album.

  • @lesliecat What I have meant is not for her new coming album which, of course, only consists of her work with composer, Ennio Moricone. Hopefully, both of these songs would be recorded and included in any of her future albums. Of course, this is only a suggestion.

  • @ngfsfpl Yeah, would be wonderful that Hayley puts these tracks into her future album, we'll wait :) And Ennio Morricone is truly a genius, I've adored his works for a long time, and can't be more happier to learn that they work together.
