That's Ammy xD. Shiranui is Amaterasu's past form 100 years ago. They are the same goddess, but Shiranui was Ammy's ultimate form, sort of like a super saiyan of somewhat.

It's about a Japanese Shinto god, Amaterasu (the sun god), and she has to travel through old Japan getting rid of the darkness that a demon, Orochi, created. The game is in Sumi-e and woodblock art style (look up Hokusai; that's woodblock style and my favorite woodblock artist), and has a lot of Japanese folklore and monsters so brushing up on those before you play won't hurt but if you don't, that won't hurt either. It is fun to do though IMO. A good Japan monster site is "Obakemono Project".

At the begining of the game, when you first come across Mr. Orange, they show you the perspective of anybody outside of the gods(Sayuka included), Orochi, and Issun. Looks like a normal wolf to the normal peeps. They wouldn't be able o tell that it was Amatseru, so they named her Shinui.

so technically it would be

AH-mah-te-LAH-soo, sorta make it sound inbetween a R and a L

Americans also think that F sound like F, but in japan F sound like H.

Why didn't Okami get into SSB Brawl? Brawl is dominated by male characters, so why not? Critics might say that our wolf, Amaterasu, is quadrupedal. But isn't Ivysaur quadrupedal too? Kalas from Baten Kaitos didn't get into the Brawl too, eventhought he deserved it! C'est la vie!

Amaterasu looks awesome in her true form. This is my favorite scene, as well. Actually, there's a Karmic Transformation of her true form that you can get, so now I go around like that throughout the game. ^_^

It has to do with your "stats" when you beat the game, for example, if you got a lot of money (total), if you didn't die at all, if you killed a lot of enemies, if you earned a lot of praise, etc. The form is Karmic Transformer 7 (of 9). I'm not exactly sure which of the "stats" you have to do well, but you'll get all 9 if you do everything well, so that's what I did. (The transformation is the same as the true form except without the long fur on her back.)
