  • Our ceremonies are not here for your anthropological amusement or to satisfy your curiousness. If you have a genuine spiritual compulsion, then come correctly or don't come at all.

  • if we choose to share our ceremonies it is our decision, not yours. You are an example of why we do not often share our ceremonies. And we do share our ceremonies with white people AT OUR discretion.

  • The lakota word for white people is Wasichu, or "greedy person", one who takes what is not his to take in the first place. My people's word for white people means white devils. Nowhere in any culture across the globe has the white man received a welcoming euphemism.

  • Even with the Native American minds there is this idea that 'man' can own anything. But this is a lie. Man owns nothing. Even the images we see in this video. There is nothing unsacred about sharing the beauty of the respect and honor to the Great Spirit. In fact, it is our duty to share with the world ALL that is Beauty and ALL that is Love. The Native blood runs through my veins and I say fervently that all are invited to view, participate, and enjoy the majesty of the awakening Spirit.

  • DinoBeeev I can tell you something..My friend did a report on the BlackFoot and said there song "Sundance" is a bad dance. She said there was a part when "A woman skins a man" I don't think thats true :O teatonaz don't bow to earth, sky, water, wind, and fire.. o.o

  • this is HORRIBLE for this to be on you tube, let alone to be filmed!

  • I'm doing a project at school on the Native American's sun dance and out of curiosity, does anyone mind telling me why it's disrespectful or unrightful for pictures and videos to be taken? Thanks :)

  • @DinoBeeev, It is NOT disrespectful to view, to learn, to share, and spread great knowledge. In fact, that is our duty within our lives. No man has the right to hoard knowledge to himself. If he does, he is a selfish man and not of the Spirit. Do not allow those of limited mind stop you from doing your research.

  • @ProcessedArt IT IS DISRESPECTFUL to share what is not yours to share. If we keep our ceremonies apart, it is because of misguided culture-vultures such as yourself.

  • u should take this down, this isnt good for you to do this like that even with natives permission you shouldnt do this things

  • only white people would disrespect a native ceremony with picture taking, sheesh

  • @chabochi1, That is a racist statement, and any person who lives with racism in their hearts is not of the Spirit. We are ALL one. And the ceremonies which give honor to the Great Spirit belong to ALL of His creations.

  • @ProcessedArt, I'll be dead before I let white people define my indigenous nature! Freakin white devils. Your road to hell is paved with your harmful, "good" intentions. Culture-vultures!

  • This is soooo wrong, taking pictures of such a sacred ceremony!

  • your not supposed to be takeing pictures of the sundance.

  • Kia ora Red World whatever our little hearts, may the Great Hear of the Creator hold us open to our Rainbow Family in these times. Let there be no inner or outer divisions that prevent us from extending Loving Compassion in this time our ancestors have called End of Times. Much of the changes we have been foretold and none of it is guaranteed to be negative or dark on our part. Saying that many who have been sleeping will awaken in shock. They will seek for Mauri Ora:Lifeforce Wellbeing!

  • Thank you to all native brothers and sisters for BE'ing. I have always felt one with you, despite being of (supposed earthly) "white/european" ancestry. By the ways of the ancestors, all are shown respect for nature, one another, and all life. Reclaiming the ways of the elders is a spark of hope for all humanity. I say, "Ho!" to all on this path. I'd appreciate all info on this type of journey. Namaste,... I bow to you, spirit brothers/sisters, earth, sky, water, wind, fire.

  • i aint watching this aint right show off to the napigwan

  • no one should be video tapeing a sundance or sweatlodge or any of that! i live in nova scotia canada, travel to south dakota to go see and pray with the dancers, i was told not to take pictures, or record anything. but didnt say nothing about drawing or painting.

  • dalepoulette we have come to a time in our collective histories when sharing, however trembling will save many lives. When Love unconditioned by past suffering and disappointments will be the greatest blessing upon our Great Mother. Reach out to all who are seeking, just as the fabric of the Red and White Paths make possible. There are no enemies on this Path. There are only sisters and brothers of the Creator. We are here praying for Unity in all of our diversities to bind together in peace.

  • @dalepoulette Ones does not have the right to paint or draw these things with out permission or unless you have done this youself. You can only get permission by a sundance priest. Also don't try and draw or paint these ceremonies unless you are Sioux.

  • it's not distrespectful to show the willow cutters. They're OUTSIDE the camp and OUTSIDE the ceremony. We've started to have them again, and there are pretty good amount of participators. It was illegal for us to have Ookam for a long time. Our other bands though, the Northern Piegan/Blood and the Blackfoot Proper still have them in Alberta. Most of us go up there for Ookam.

  • I noticed you said "YOUR" Sundance. If you're using the term "niitsitapi" to describe yourself, don't you mean OUR Ookam?
