I've been noticing a lot of this lately. I think it's some kind of glitch in YT's system. I've been seeing a lot of legitimate comments being marked as spam.
Real money is gold and silver and cannot be counterfeited . Don't use paper use silver. American Open Currency Standard uses silver and is real money. Once people understand AOCS they realize they don't really need a bank.
More fiat isn't the way. Just use gold and silver instead. That way you don't have to worry about their value collapsing because gold and/or silver have value in themselves as opposed to those pieces of paper.

jesus; not cities and states can hyperinflate currency? this is a significant harbinger of a currency bubble... seem familiar? like when shoeshine boys give stock tips, or blackjeck dealers building spec homes?
Hyperinflation is why the original PLENTY failed. I know it's difficult to get excited over anything dealing with economics these days, but an active local currency actually is a step in the right direction. I live outside Pittsboro and I've seen a concert, bought dinner, and got a used book with PLENTYs. The owners of those businesses, their employees, other users of the currency and I all benefited from those transactions.
local organic food is kind of more practical than gold or silver in almost any situation. but just like fed notes, if someone with those commodities agrees to exchange them for your currency, then yes, you can gain those assets with it.
This is kind of like what the confederacy did during the civil war. And I don't have a problem with this so much as I do a very simple question... What is being used to back this currency. The Dollar? Well I personally am not very comfortable with paper being used to back paper if that is the case. If I'm going to have faith in a receipt, I'd at the very least like to know what I have to look forward to as a hard asset for my good faith in an initial investment.
it's a start. It's not like someone in Raleigh has $7 million in gold bullion to start up a real local currency. The point is that by using the local market, they have a 9:10 exchange rate, giving the consumer a 10% discount on all purchases. if you ask for PLENTY as change for a transaction in fed. res. notes, it's like giving the merchant a 10% tip. the merch. can concert to FRN for tax time, but other than that, the dollars would state in the immediate area and bolster the local economy.
Well at least if it has local value it wont leave the local economy. If we did that in the southern states we'd have billions saved from going to mexico.
Any kind of currency still has to have some sort of universal monetary value. local businesses still have to get their supplies from outside sources. Small businesses get their supplies from wholesalers. If your state has a currency that is only valuable where you live and a bordering state doesn't recognize it, small businesses who get their supplies out of state can't buy the goods to sell to you the consumer. Because it's valueless anywhere else unless the local economy can 100% self-sustain.
This is what happens when people lose faith in a currencies ability to maintain it's value. America should not outsource the creation of the money supply via the Federal (Corporate) Reserve. Which no one knows who controls it. Add billions of our tax dollars are funnel off the top for pieces of paper American mints print. Anyone else confused why this system exists?
ink and paper are still worthless. Its all about silver and gold. Whats up with the chick that cant even talk right? Its agonizing!

can you buy real assets with it? like gold, silver, land? if not, then i wouldnt go all in on something like this.
this is a FEMA initiative, actually. in an emergency (such as complete dollar devaluation) local communites would have to support themselves.
