  • eastdevonbugle offers $100 prize for best short film on planning in east devon. Full details to follow.

  • Hope the live music doesn't move to the Strand from the Manor Gardens Stage. Check out Manor Gdns tomorrow afternoon(Sun 19th). Don't know the other bands, but the Beacons are worth a look.

  • Have they planned a vehicle entrance for the bowling alley yet?

Or enough school places for the kids let down by the Rolle College debacle?

Are too many homes/blocks being converted to accommodation for the elderly? Is the burden being shared fairly between all communities?

It all looks like we are being asked to comment on very abstract planning issues.

    Debate real issues on eastdevonbugle.blogspot.com

  • Surely Stuart could have learnt a few short lines rather than having to read them? Don't give up the day job Stu!

  • Have they planned vehicle access to the bowling alley yet, or sufficient school places for those let down by the Rolle College fiasco?

  • easier to find than a validation checklist. What a waste of my money- I live and work in the area and pay full rates for both house and business. Sack em all and start again.

By the way where is the validation checklist?

  • If Bayfm didn't charge and Stu didn't accept payment, where did the 600 squid go?

  • What the I don't even what were you I just please what now?!?!?!

  • Groovy moves Stu! Any councillor who cant appeciate a bit of humour, let alone the importance of inclusive communication and new media maybe shouldnt stand for the next term...

  • Amazing! Great piece of viral marketing. Top marks.

  • Next we will have Cameron doing cartwheels and Clegg doing -oh nothing he is too useless.

  • @rioandthelma That will be worth seeing....Mind you DC is a keen sportsman, cycling, cricket......Stuart Hughes is also very agile and a keen cyclist as can be seen from the moves in the video

  • Well, full marks for trying after all the teen somethings will be in their late 20's while the LDF will be impacting their environment

  • Well done East Devon!!! Love it!! I am glad it has upset a few people, losers!

  • The short film was a low-budget production that cost a lot less than sending a letter to each of East Devon’s teenagers.

EDDC’s “home video” was filmed at the studios of Bay Fm Radio at no cost.

Bay FM is a not-for-profit community radio station based in Exmouth run entirly by volunteers.

  • @MrBayfm and I'm sure it will represent real 'value for money' in engaging each of East Devon's teenages too. They will think its really 'cool', I'm sure....

btw. Do they plan anywhere? Do they?

  • I suppose a speedway track would be out of the question??

  • Hmmmm... Words fail me.........

  • Brilliant. This is genius. I think every council should make one for their public consultancies.

Good way to instantly get the word out that you want to hear people's views and encourage people to go to the site. Can't think of many Local Development Frameworks that make the local news. My local council had to rent a shop in town and coerce people in to give their opinions. I would have thought this is much cheaper.

  • What a total waste of money

  • As well as being another total waste of taxpayers' money, it is also totally wrongly entitled. they categorically don't plan "ANYWHERE", their remit is limited to East Devon.

Then again, they are only civil servants, and planners to boot, so I wouldn't expect them to have considered that fact.

  • I like it... So bad, it's good... Reminds me of the "Shake and Vac" advert

  • excruciating. comic sans was the poisonous icing on the cake.

  • W.T.F.

  • Oh dear me... I'm struggling to understand which "younger audience" this is aimed at. Presumably not the one that giggles at its granddad making a fool of himself because I'm fairly sure they're too young to comment on local plans. I just hope no actual Council Tax went on making this because it's ill-conceived, tragically badly executed and just plain embarrassing. I thought councils were a bit more sophisticated than this these days but I guess I was wrong. This is so bad it could go viral.

  • we weren't wondering and dont care. just give up.

  • What a joke

  • This is the worst thing I have ever seen.
